I've been hoping you would check out Tool! They have a ton of great music- dont miss 46 and 2, Right in Two, Eulogy and the Grudge for sure. Also if you're a drum fan you've got to see the live drum cam of Pneuma. Its amazing.

Most TOOL fans wouldn't call them metal. But they do have metal influences and aspects. Metal, today, sounds more like lamb of god and Mastodon.
