One of Big's last songs, it was recorded 3 months before his death...Tracey Lee said in an interview that Big wrote the song in his head in 20 minutes while they were playing cards and the instrumental was playing on repeat in the background !!...He said he never saw any shit like that ever !!...Big will forever be a LEGEND !!....RIP 🐐

I think Tracey Lee is one of Hip-Hop's most underappreciated. The dude rhymed a different flow and style on almost every song on that album. Dude was literally a one man group. There's one song on that album called "Who Shot LR" where he is playing 6 different dudes trying to figure out who shot one of them. The shit's crazy. Even on this song, his first and second verses he is using different voices and flows.

I heard this the first time earlier this year. It felt like gold discovering “new” Biggie verses. That last verse was one of his best. Tracy held it down for sure. Not easy to rhyme bar for bar with Big.

Tracey Lee had a DOPE debut album (this 1). After Tracey realized Biggie didn't physically write his lyrics, he stsrted doing the same thing. Now, he's a lawyer & he said those memory exercises gave him an advantage when it comes to remembering laws & whatnot as a lawyer. Check out Supercat - Dolly My Baby (video).

2 facts. 1) This is considered by many to be BIG's best guest appearance 2) Tracey Lee went on to become an entertainment attorney Bonus) Tracey Lee's verse was removed and replaced by Method Man on a re-release of BIG's verse, so many people never even heard of Tracey Lee, who says he's from Philly, but actually from Buffalo NY.

This joint is classic to me. Biggie and Trace killed every bad. The only other track I've heard from Tracey is The Theme. I'm pretty sure he's a lawyer now, too. Another anecdote about rappers using advance money to buy drugs is Cam'ron. Apparently he spent all his advance money from his first or second album on bricks and somehow didn't have to pay it back to Sony. Cam has some of the craziest industry stories I've heard.

@@hugh_jasso I’m 34. I lived through it too. Even before Ether and What More Can I Say I saw it as him “biggin up his brother” I’ll take a few Biggie bars here n there if I get to listen to GOAT level Hov bars 99 percent of the way.

@MrMessyb Год назад
@@hugh_jasso I always found it weird cos Jay-Z said he’s “bigging up his brother” when he uses Biggie’s lyrics, but to a new fan, how would they know those are Biggie’s lyrics cos he doesn’t even say “word to biggie” or “in the words of my brother” nothing. I always felt when he explained it, it was just a weak cover up to excuse all the lyrics he bit from Biggie. Did the same on “Niggas in Paris” with the “Mike, Tyson, Jordan, Jackson” wordplay and again no mention of Biggie’s name so those ignorant will just think he came up with that sick world play!!

Awww man, I wouldn't call his album Many Facez a classic, but he is definitely a very creative brother. Who Shot LR? is dope because he basically raps a who done it from the perspective (using voices and everything) from like 7 different people. Stars in the East is dope. Everyone talks about the track featuring BIG, but personally that's the weakest track on the album. Big Will and Repent are nice tracks, too and he's got some funny skits from what I remember.
