I grew up watching Jordan. I've watched Lebron, Kobe and everyone else since that generation. Watching Jordan was like watching an alien. His sheer athleticism was something you can't even compare to another human. Night in and night out he did things that defied reality. Jordan is the goat. Period.
yup! grew up watching MJ in his era. being raised in the Philly burbs my dad would even take me to Kobe's highschool games at Lower Merion (bc word on the street he was the "next Michael Jordan"). To this day there is not a single basketball player that can touch MJ... not even remotely close. he was just different, & at least we get it! 🐐💥
@@bobaltoI'm 25 and I agree. Obviously never saw it live, but looking at the numbers and looking at the accomplishments, the gap is just larger than the mariana trench 😂
Bro you already know ..Wen i was 14years old watching MJ i knew i would never see an athlete like him in any sport, im 48 now and i can not tell you how much he meant to our entire generation..We were very lucky because there will never be anyone in sports like him again
Any player that can jump from the free throw line hash marks in full sprint and jump off TWO FEET is untouchable until someone else comes along with that in their tool bag. MJ was nutso in preparation
@@Tuan-FistofFuryGEE AM 56 OK EVERY ONE ON THE PLANET KNOWS MICHAEL JORDAN PAST AND PRESENT LOL 😆 WHO NEVER HEARD OF HIM LET ME NO AM VERY PATIENT I,LL WAIT
Watching MJ, you feel like there 100% chance that something special or unbelievable is going to happen in the game for every game. He made basketball exciting and you know he is going to give 110% every night.
He was a rockstar, movie star, world leader and religious figure all in one. And remember basketball wasn't the number 1 sport back then but he was that famous.
I’d say in the top 3 of the most famous people on earth during his peak. The guy was in the same level of the world wide popularity with Michael Jackson.
I was blessed to have seen MJ play live and in person several times as a Bull and as a Wizard, he was something other worldly. He had a different aura around him that spoke to his greatness on the floor. People of today have no true idea just how great MJ was. Let me show you some of the names of Hall of Fame members he denied championships to during his run in the 1990's. Patrick Ewing, Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Reggie Miller, Chris Mullins, Charles Barkley just to name a few. MJ also made Nike the Shoe company that it is today, and is still making money off of his shoe line and his likeness. So to me there is no discussion MJ is the G.O.A.T.
Jordan sold out every arena he played in every season. I lived in Dallas during that time period and would kill to get tickets when the Bulls played the Mavericks but never did, they were always instantly sold out. He literally CARRIED the league in so many ways.
Jordan was a all defense team player, not just a scoring magician, and he played and won Championship with some of the best competition to include, Kemp, Shaq, Ewing, Larry Johnson and Morning, Dikembe, Hakeem O., David Robinson, Vince Carter and he beat and dunked on all of them. No one was his equal.
I’m a living witness that saw this guy play I never seen a fierce talented skillful player like this in my life. MJ is the best basketball player that God ever created.
Great reaction youngster. And I commend you for not being the typical young, bias and ignorant Bron superman lover. I fell in love with the sport back in 1979 because of Magic. I have bled purple & gold since then but without hesitation I proclaim MJ to be the GOAT. I was fortunate to have seen young then prime Mike a few times at the old LA Sports Arena vs Clippers and what my 20/20 vision witnessed is like nothing it had seen before or after him. I have also seen young and prime Bron a few times and I find it laughable that they're compared. I agree 100% with Hakeem who said "Jordan is a far more superior player and in a tougher league." And Magic said it best "There's Jordan then there's everybody else." Or was it Shaq that said it best "Jordan is a 10 and there's no 9s only 7s and 8s." It comes down to opinions, and I can guarantee you without reading any of the comments, that the vast majority will tell you Black Jesus is the GOAT.
@@katrinachavez3533 so well said...yeah Ive seen LeBron in all four stages of his career and LeBron was probably the best player in basketball at his peak in from 2012-2014 and its not close at all... LeBron did have some incredible highlights too around that time but its ridiculous to compare LeBron and his manufactured career to what Jordan did when he was the best player in basketball from about 1986-1997...and in that decade plus especially in the middle nobody ever questioned MJ as not only the greatest player of that time or his genre but ever... Guys like Bobby Knight who was kind of a dick was calling MJ the Goat before he ever played an NBA game and from the jump all the greats of his time were talking about his greatness before dude played his first game... He was like an alien. Its incredible
I’m sick of this comparison. Jordan played every play, including defense like it was the last play. He was a work horse fighting against fierce defenses. Was hit and still finished the play with a basket. He had zero weaknesses in his game. Lebron is not even the gum on Jordan’s shoes. I am blessed having him play during my generation. He always brought something. PLEASE STOP THIS USELESS COMPARISON!!!
People don’t realize and 16:30 on this clip the announcer said what a hang time move. Not realizing MJ still had time to clap his chest twice to say MY BAD I didn’t pass and still proceeded to hang in the air and make the lay up. This man was in total control! 🔥
He dunked over TREES! How many 7-footers did he dunk on in this video? He never shied away from taking it to the paint, in an era when it was filled with giant, legitimate shot blockers. And this is just a sampling of his career. He NEVER load-managed. He worked as hard on defense as he did on offense. He never went elsewhere to get a ring. The debate is a joke... MJ is by far the best of all time.
MJ played every game like it was his last it felt like if some the player in the league today has even a fraction of his competitiveness and killer instinct the league would be better everyone wants to be buddies and play together
I was lucky enough to get to watch MJ from the time he was in college throughout his pro career and there was no comparison between him and all of the mere mortals and that includes the present day. Not only was he a phenomenal offensive player but he was just as gifted on defense. He was the ultimate competitor who pushed his teammates but he pushed himself harder.
MJ is the GOAT, but I'm not stupid. LeBron is 2nd (ahead of Magic, Kobe and Larry.) It was Bron's 39th birthday yesterday.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Jordan has all the moves and no weaknesses. MJ grew up playing basketball when there was no 3-point line. However, LeBron shoots it behind the arc at 34.6% and Michael at 32.7%. LeBron dominates the boards and the passing/assists category. MJ was the Rookie of the Year in 1984/85. LeBron won the same Award in 2003/04. Both megastars captured 2 Olympic Gold Medals each. Bron won a Bronze Medal, too. MJ was capable of dunking on a 6'5 opposing player or a 7'5 opposing player. LeBron, as well. Michael shot the midrange fallaway with terrific precision. LeBron loves taking a pass beyond the 3-point line and driving through the paint for a lay-up which is unstoppable. I am well aware of more stats like MVPs, Championships, Steals Leaders, Finals MVPs and defensive awards. I just don't want to list everything because it will end up changing from a 6 line paragraph to a 15 line paragraph. And no one will want to read it.
@@jackastor5265 I didn't realize that he won 6 rings and 6 MVPs I should probably remove Magic and input Kareem. I thought he played in that one specific era where there was only 8-10 teams in the whole entire league.
@@GhostbustersPhone8489 No that was Wilt and Bill Russell that played in the 60's and there were only 9 or 10 teams early on. Kareem played in the 70's and 80's when it was a full league and won 6 rings. He also lead the league in scoring for 30+ years, and also had the most unguardable shot in NBA history. Kareem is also probably the greatest college basketball player of all time, winning 3 NCAA championships in 3 seasons with UCLA.
Lebron dominates on defensive boards whereas Jordan averaged more offensive boards per game and still had total more off-reb than Lebron at the start of 2023.
Young people simply can't fathom, just what Jordan meant to the world in the 80's and 90's. EVERYONE knew who he was. Not just in the U.S. Not just Basketball fans. Every game was a highlight. And unlike current players, he was out there 82 games a year, 9 times. More than Kobe and Lebron COMBINED. He gave it all on the court for us.
Just a quick fact my young brother, Jordan won MVP and DPOY in the same season, as a rookie average 29 pts per game and took the bulls to the playoffs in his rookie season. Won 10 scoring titles. He played with the bulls 14 season and won 6 rings and took 2 years off. The argument could be made if he didn’t take 2 years off he would of had 8 straight rings and the year he won his last champ they broke up the team. It would have been 9 lol I can keep going on and on but seeing Michael Jordan’s and Lebron play. Lebron is great but Jordan on another planet.
@FREEZODTB. Now imagine watching this live. In 3d high definition. Real time. Stull to this very day, Noboby is doing what Jordan did. Jordan was and still is different, bro.
We can leave MJ off because he is the Icon of the icons. That's a door no one has open yet. Now we can argue bout Kobe, LBJ, OR whomever else . Just my perspective.
Let's go BabyFreezy... As someone who grew up watching the Lakers\Celtics rivalry as a kid and has also seen the entire Bulls dynasty era as well as the modern ones, Jordan is the GOAT to me personally. Never lost a finals that he played in, was defensive and offensive all NBA multiple times, and just had that ultimate, killer instinct. Not to mention how smooth his game was and how he just seemed like he could hang in the air, at least, twice as long as anyone else.
Bro labron is good and yah he’s from another era but let’s be real if I had a choice to go watch one of them play.Jordan all day.greatness on a whole other level
Anyone who thinks anyone is even close to saying Lebron is the goat clearly doesn’t know basketball. Jordan was just unreal. Born to play basketball. Athleticism. Hand size. Mentality. Just everything he was a monster
People always say “Why would they just let MJ do that?” The answer is simple. Cuz then they would have to go back to the Jordan Rules…the only two dominant players to have rules against them was MJ and Shaq. Why? Cuz they were basically unstoppable.
Just to let you know, he also stole the ball in order to take his last shot to win his 6 nba championship. MJ was unreal. i was privileged enough to see joe Montana jerry Rice ,Micheal jordan Tiger Woods, and Tom Brady play
This is probably about 15% of his highlights. He did this every night on back-to-backs & no load management. Us that got to watch this in real time were really fortunate.
As someone who grew up a Bulls fan watching the greatness that was Michael Jordan he will always be the GOAT! He was less than a god but more than a man.
One thing about this video this is just the tip of the iceberg of all the highlights that I see Michael play I watch every second of every minute of every game he’s played since he was at North Carolina. Chicago was so lucky we are Walter Payton, Gale Sayers, Michael Jordan, Weiner lacquer, Mike Singletary, Dick buckets, and now we have Caleb Williams the Bears about the win four Super Bowls minimum
MJ had 10 scoring titles with 7 in a row, 9x all defensive first team/1 second team, league steals leader 3x, a DPOTY and scoring title at the same time only player to ever do that), still the fastest player ever to 100 steals & 100 blocks, only player ever to have 200 steals 100 blocks and score 3,000 pts in a season, only player to have a 37 ppg season, still the league record 34/6/5 2 steals 1.5 blocks in an 82 game season, still the highest PER in league history, and only player with two 3-peats. His rookie year was 40 years ago, and his final retirement was 20 years ago. He was THAT good.
I saw him play back in the day. What these youngsters don’t realize is that Lebron doesn’t have the killer instinct & 🔥 that Jordan had. Talent alone doesn’t make you the greatest. Its determination & work ethic. Jordan had those 2 qualities in spades. That’s why you’ll never see another. The GOAT
Putting both at number 1 makes no sense and defeats the purpose of the number. Why not just say I never seen Jordan play and thus cannot make an informed opinion. The overwhelming majority of us who seen em both play know Bron has no business being mentioned with MJ....The two aren't even close
Lebron isn't better than Bird Magic Wilt Kareem Kobe Hakeem Duncan Shaq Russell Jokic and arguably West and Robertson so to put him in the same convo w Jordan makes no sense and is all fabricated nonsense by the media
My Youngblood check Michael Jordan was one of the only complete players in NBA history. He was great at everything if you don’t believe me, there’s a thing called RU-vid. You can go back and watch complete games the bulls against Detroit the bulls against the Celtics bulls against the Knicks bulls against Miami. Like I said MJ is GOD.
1:50 Amen. As an 80s baby, I was a year old when he was unleashed on the world and 10 when SJ came out. Just the news of Lebron’s remake made me shake my head like, “HUH??🤨🤨” That first dunk of this tape (I THINK) is in Space Jam (when his arm stretches like STRETCH ARMSTRONG?)♥️♥️#ThatWasReal🙃
I am 52 and I lived this era. Im telling you, there is not only basket player, but sports man, anywhere, anytime, in any sport, even close to this GOD. His plasticity, his athletism, his wisdom, absolutely unparalleled. The discussion of who is the GOAT, its an insult and a joke.
Note how many defenders got knocked down, fell down, and laid the wood on Jordan at the rack ( Lots of and 1's today)..didn't stop him one bit. Many of those guys are among the NBA's all-time lading shot blockers. ( He was twice as strong as he looked, and could palm a pumpkin and hold it up and down with ease..scaaarrryyyyy.) Add that on to his game winning shot % (Highest in NBA history) and his defensive I.Q, you have a basketball nightmare waiting for ya every game.
Michael Jordan is and always will be the G.O.A.T. There's more than just this video. It shows he passed to himself but look at the other teams jerseys. Watch Michael Jordan's highlights, Michael Jordan's defensive highlights and more
Jordan is the GOAT the other Greats aren't respected enough, still.. and there's this one Yahoo out there that gets too much respect, far too much!! Respectfully. 💯 🏀
MJ, the only One says "I'll never say I'm the greatest" LeBron "I'm the GOAT" Come on LeBron!?! Jordan in the today's NBA would be a real monster! You in the 80/90's NBA, you would be a good player...
When you're the best player in the season of 72 wins and the best player in the playoffs with a championship leading in scoring in both the season and playoff, and also MVP and Finals MVP. All star MVP also. Remember this is just one season and I'm only naming a few of Jordan's accomplishments. Lol You're the GOAT. 🤷 Not today's "feel good" fabricated "goat". Jordan showed he is the GOAT through actions not by words lol.
It's not a debate!!! MJ NEVER, EVER flopped and he played 100% on both ends of the court!!! LJ definitely does the first and definitely does not do the second part of basketball!!! He is a media creation straight out of HIGH school and you better hope that Diddy never got him to attend any parties because LJ was the perfect age for Diddy at 18!!!
React to "Scottie Pippen Retrospective". Jordan is my G.O.A.T. 1,000%, but you'll see why they're arguably the best duo in NBA history and why they have 6 rings.
I wish they allowed defense in today's game, overall I think the players are better. MJ still goat but as a whole today's players are better but not allowed to really play the game. It ain't gonna change unless we all gripe about it, which isn't gonna happen cause all the young fans don't know any better.😢 I miss old school NBA
