Awesome. Having watched Voctave live, I can tell you this is exactly how they sound. No editing, no effects, no doubling of the same voice…it sounds exactly like this live. And it is breathtaking.
They met through Disney’s Voices of Liberty that performs in Epcot. No, they are not the original singers. The arranger, Jamey Ray who was the second gentleman on the left, has said that he writes each part for the person. As for the grass on the stands. Yes that is artificial grass. It is to keep the sound down when turning pages. Their name stands for vocal octave. Hopefully when Christmas time comes around, you drive into their Christmas music. It is beyond good. Lulu commented that Belle is her fav. They do a version of Beauty and the Beast with Sandy Patti. Well worth the listen.

It is a piece of carpet on the stands, it helps to absorb the sound so it doesn’t bounce off the stands and go right back in their face. It’s a common thing in singing recording.

Welcome to the Voctave rabbit hole! As others have noted, all 11 members are current or former singers with the Voices of Liberty at EPCOT in Walt Disney World. 2 of the men in this video (Tony and JC) left in late 2019 and were replaced by Drew and Aaron in early 2020. I highly recommend their "Disney Heroes & Villains Medley" for solos from all 6 men, "Prince of Egypt Medley" (audio only), "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever" featuring Tituss Burgess, "Beauty & the Beast" featuring Sandi Patty, "Cinderella Medley" ... just go through their entire Disney playlist. Their Christmas works are some of their best. "O Come All Ye Faithful", "O Holy Night", "Carol of the Bells of Notre Dame", "Mary, Did You Know" featuring original co-writer Mark Lowry, "Grown Up Christmas List" ...
Not the original singers but most of them do work at Disney. Voctave and VoicePlay are my favorite acapella groups! Please check out more Voctave. They have a Disney Love Medley, Disney Showstoppers Medley and in their Disney Heroes and Villains Medley each guy gets a solo. They also have a Great Movie Medkey that is fantastic! ❤

Hardly the original singers - Snow White was released in 1937… They perform the songs beautifully though. Kathy looked absolutely transported! To hear them all take the lead try their release Somewhere.

Love Voctave pronounced Voctive like octive. Most of these singers work or have worked at Disney World singing together in the voices of liberty. They have sung together for years hence their wall of sound. My next suggestion for you is The disney heroes and villians medley. This song showcases all the mens voices like Princess medley did the women just now. Enjoy your trip down the Voctave rabbit hole. It's easier to pronounce their name if you're a musician . Just think of the word octave, then put a v in front of it. So it does not sound like voctaive, it actually sounds like voctive, as in give.
