💖Keep the mental health conversation going by sharing your story here in the comments. I'd also love to hear all about YOUR Inner Child and what he/she enjoys. What helps you connect to that innocence? No matter where you are in your journey, you have a safe place here to share your struggles and accomplishments without judgment. This is how we break the mental health stigma. 💖
Reaction to Grestest show on earth, from tampere performase. It has save me many times. Puts things in scale. And the title of the song is true. Current song was for the finnish movie called lieksa, video material vere from that.. you did gread reaction to the poet and the bendelum, i liked that a lot. And to mental side, i don't want to open that side.
If you want to see a great live version watch this one. Nightwish - While Your Lips Are Still Red (Live at Wembley Arena) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5V7PKv493Ic.html
this version is good, but the LIVE version at Wembley w/ Floor as Marko's back up singer and Troy playing the E bow on guitar is absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!!! Please check that out you'll LOVE it more!!!💯❤
This was during the 2nd singers time but is a Marco song, recommend trying the Wembley version which has Floor in backing vocals and a sweet message from Marco at the start.
This beautiful little song is originally made for a Finnish movie "Lieksa!" (Pölönen, 2007), starring in order of appearance Peter Franzen, Jenni Banerjee and Samuli Vauramo. As many others here have stated, the Wembley arena 2015 live performance is excellent.
Beautiful song from a Finnish movie. Another song you might like from Nightwish is Eva, sung by Anette. A very besutiful song about a young girl that is going through a hard time, being bullied in school. She dreams of flying away from everything. It's said Tuomas knew this young girl. Tuomas writes his music from something he feels very strongly about. It is a beautiful song with beautiful lyrics.
There's still a lot of Nightwish songs that speak to mental health. Tuomas has gone through a lot and puts it into his music. I really do hope that you will do more Nightwish videos.
Yep, Marko on lead vocals. When you get time check out this live version on your own. It's from the Wembley 2015 show. Floor does backing vocals and Troy plays guitar with an EBOW. They decided to add this to the setlist here, because it was not long after the Paris night club bombings. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5V7PKv493Ic.html
@@chriso6719 I think she's Finnish actor Elina Knihtilä. This song was not a Nightwish song in the first place. It was a Holopainen-Hietala production for a Finnish movie Lieksa!. Not sure, but Anette wasn't even chosen to Nightwish yet.
@@pajuification You're probably right, but she does look like Anette. Anette was hired early 2007. According to Wikipedia, the movie was released Sep '07.
Love love love the fact that you're reacting to this song! I'm currently following your advise on creating a disabled character and is precisely Nightwish my new source of inspiration! Their song Élan is just gorgeous, mellow, nostalgic, yet hopeful and just... *Sigh* I love them
This song was Pre-Floor, I think it was it was even Pre-Annette, while they were looking for their next singer (Annette).it is featured on Dark passion play special deluxe edition. It's my favourite song by them.
Welcome back stranger we all missed you. This was during the time Annette was with the band their second singer. Marco and Tuomas wrote this song and shows Marco's talent. I love the live version that has Floor also singing and i believe this was from a movie. Thank you.
This song is from the first album featuring Annette which is why much more of the singing is done by Marko. There is a live version at Wembley in 2015 which is still Marko but with Floor singing backing It's beautiful. It's worth listening to Floor's first solo single called Fire about coming out of the pandemic.
One of my favorite songs. Written originally for a Finnish movie Lieksa! The clips in the video are from the movie but I feel don't really match the hopefulness and beauty of the song and are much darker. Not sure where this song fits in the movie. The live version from Wembley with Floor singing backup is just gorgeous and better expresses the emotion of the music and lyrics.
I've watched the movie, it is low key and is definitely has comedy to leaven the drama. It is about a family of roving tailors whose inept sons increasingly turn towards crime with some unexpected results. Overall, the movie does have relevance to the song as one of the plot foci is the young daughter of the family and her romantic development.
I had not heard this song, nor did I know what a great and beautiful voice Marko has. He almost brought me to tears. Thank you for bringing this beautiful song out.
Just a funny anecdote: Meanwhile, Back in Finland: "Finns are notoriously a bunch of heavyheads. According to a survey a couple of years ago, heavy metal or heavy rock is the favourite genre of one in three Finnish people. Now metal music is being harnessed to the full for mental health work. This year's cultural theme for the Finnish Federation for Mental Health is heavymusic." ❤️🤘
This song was written by Marko and was the theme song for the Finnish movie 'Lieksa', which is very sad and dark. Basically you're lips are still red until they turn blue when you die. The story is about loving as much as you can before you go. It's just another of those life lessons that Nightwish teaches us with every song if you know how to listen. Great reaction 🤗
Nice to see our paths cross again! This one of the songs that was not (fully) created by Tuomas, but (mostly) by Marko. Another song written and sung by Marko is The Islander ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ciLVx51IZjM.html "This is for long-forgotten Light at the end of the world Horizon crying The tears he left behind long ago" Marko knows all too well of mental health issues, suffering from depressions and (recovering) alcoholism. Last year he left the band because the industry around the band was having too great an impact on his mental health. He now only plays/performs for fun, but no longer as a job.
Marko is scheduled on tour in South America at the same time and same place in 3 venues.......the same time Nightwish is scheduled, same time, same place. Hope he does a guest appearance!!!!!!
This is such a beautiful song, and I would say that the live version (mentioned in many comments) adds an other dimension to this song, and I actually preferer that, and its actually Marcos pre-announce (an other context if you want) to that song that creates that dimension. ❤️
This video takes me back to 2014 when I did 30 days in the county jail. When I was in Memphis, Tennessee back in 2014, I saw a guy physically hurting a woman, so I came to her aid and gave that guy a few lefts and rights. When the judge asked how I pleaded, I said if it's against the law to defend a woman, then I'll gladly do the 30 days in the county. I went to the county jail with my head held high because in my heart I knew I did the right thing. As a kid, I saw way too much violence against women that I grew up being against violence against women. I'm 42 years old and I've never laid my hands on a woman, and I never will.
Again, you demonstrate what makes you one of my favorite reactors to Nightwish's music. You are one the very, very few who actually seems to hear what Tuomas is telling us. Nightwish doesn't play songs. They perform artistic masterpieces, with Tuomas' music and lyrics a palimpsest upon which to write our own stories.
Hi Amanda! So if you liked Marko in this maybe check out "the voice of my father". There's an English version but maybe check out the Finnish version with English caps. It's beautiful
I love this song, it's one of my favorites that Marko sings I absolutely love how soft and gentile he is here. This song was recorded before the amazing Floor joined the band. I come to this song for Marko to tell me that I am okay and it feels like a warm hug that I need on occasion. I might have an unpopular opinion on this one, I prefer the studio version more than the live performance with Floor. I listen to it for Marko and I feel like Floor as amazing as she is takes away from Marko's own voice in the live recording.
It's just a shame that you only analyzed how you understood the lyrics of the song and you didn't comment at all on how you liked Marko's singing performance or the music itself.
The song is about Tarya's betrayal over Marco, he just lets everything out.... It's too much to say but can't find the right words to describe how she took advantage of him and the band.
Love the song, but honestly I think the live version is much better (Not just because of floor even, marko sounds better to me, and the music) if you decide to do a reaction to that too that'd be awesome :X
Just one example of Marko’s greatness and contribution. He is missed. The live version is also great and Floor sings backup for him. A great song with a great message. Live now. Love now. Life is short. Great reaction Amanda.
Yes me too. And it's not just because of Floor (though I love her in it). Marko, the music, everything just sounds better to me. The live version is the first one I saw, so it might partially be due to that too.
Loved to see you laughing in your thumbnail 💕💕 Nice outfit too dear. 👍👍 Greetings from a nightwish fan from The Netherlands. The live version has Floor on background singing. Wow you went to Finland with your BF? And Nightwish is from Finland so that sounds like full circkle.
another amazing song from Marko is "the voice of my father". in a other band formation but wurth watching... Marko is just as Floor a vocal master..( he won the Finnish version of the masked singer)...enjoy and stay safe.. greets and love from the Nightwish Army in the netherlands.
One message Nightwish consistently gives is that we should live life in the present. I think it's a very healthy attitude - there is a song called "7 Days to the Wolves" which my wife always points me to when I am stressing: the wolves may be coming, but I should notice they are not here yet, and who knows where we will be when they finally get here? Another favourite for this is "Last Ride of the Day" - if you watch this make sure to check out the lyrics, I didn't notice them for ages but they are particularly clear about this (the opening line is "we live in every moment but this one"). Also, if you like Marko on lead vocals, check out "The Islander" (live at Tampere) or "High Hopes". Thanks!
Live Life while you're still alive, Love when you can. Another great reaction. Perhaps, your next reaction could be Nightwish - Rest Calm. A very deep and underrated song
I am really glad this is a happy video and you asked us to open up. As most know i am going thorugh a very rough mental break down. I will not mention negatives but yes alot going on. I no longer use drugs or alcohol to hide feelings i saw or do what i want pretty much im a moron not a monster. Words get me in trouble. I had another explosive argue but this time i left instead of stating and fight or hurt myself. My release is nature now. So i went for a hike and i fell hard and was injured. But i TRUELY LISTENED to MYSELF talking myself into a bad situation i even joked about it being skecthy then took a step fell. I didn't mention in either video but I spend about 20 minutes struggling to get those foot and knee holds. There was So much loose dirt covering those roots. you can hear how winded i was. I made the video quality bad on purpose. The foot age is for a documentary i am working but the audio is clear. I am also away from my computer system.all i have is this phone and the camera here at my moms house.
Very good that you are staying clean from drugs and alchol! And also very good that you can find the right things to do in a heated moments! Enjoy you Nature moments!
Good to see you watching this wonderful Marco song, written by him and Tuomas for the film The Matriarch. Of course as with most Nightwish it is best live. Tampere is good. Much love to you
I would like to make a suggestion. I have searched in your reaction by Nightwish. But I have found that you miss the masterpiece. So do your self a favor and watch "Nightwish - Greatest show on earth" @ tampere. The song is about the world from Big bang to pressent time with a celebration to we who are here. It's a wounderful composition. It's almost 22 min but it don't feel lik it. Hope you like it and let us follow you on that journey.
Marko is a fabulous singer who got even better after Floor joined the band; she's apparently a vocal coach and some speculate that's what caused the "level up" in his singing. Marko is also the absolute GOD of "mountain king" beards!! If you want to see him and Floor really lay it down (and have 20 minutes) check out the "live at tampere" version of "The greatest show on earth" Thematically the song is an advertisement for evolution but if that is an okay subject with you, parts of it are beautiful and there's a part where Floor and Marko sing together where Marko completely holds his own and complements her vocals amazingly.
Been looking for that "right person" for about 35 years now. At this point I think I've lost too much faith in humanity to find it. Still, just found your channel and love your reactions so far. This is one of my favorites of the lesser-known Nightwish songs.
For some reason this song still touches me. It gives me hope that other people will be happy even though I won't be. And of course Marco's voice is just incredible.
Marco and Tuomas wrote this for a soundtrack. Marco was too humble to take credit for it so he credited Nightwish for it. I wish I could find the movie on DVD or digital, but apparently you can't get it in the US.
I'm that guy that takes days to respond, lol, it has nothing to do with frustration or depression, that is just what i do, people who knows me knows it and they don't drama about it, also when i send a message i don't expect to be responded immediately. I savor things slowly,
This is movie music written by Tuomas and Marko, Performed by the two of them and former drummer Jukka for the Finnish movie "The Matriarch". It's not really a Nightwish song, but Tuomas is not comfortable releasing material under his own name.
Tuomas always being just a tiny step or 2 behind Marco, with a look on his face like: "If you touch Marco,i`ll tombstone piledrive you out of this set!". Nightwish has always symbolized brotherhood and chemistry in the best ways, well mostly amongst the guys. And of course the early Tarja days, she used to be "one of the guys". But then she changed..... Anyway, this was before Floors era in the band, but you should re-join this later to experience how much of an impact Floor has on this song live. Theyr songs went to several levels above the original versions with her coming in alongside Troy. Since this is a feelgood song,it reminded me: You should check out Tuomases solo project with his wife called "TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN - A Lifetime of Adventure". Johanna Kurkela made Tuomas smile again in his private life,Floor made him into a giant smile on every stage touring with Nightwish. So lovely to see his transformation!
You'll never see a headstone say "I wish I had more time to spend at work" Think how many billions went to sleep. Thinking they had a tomorrow to love and fix regrets. An never woke up. Live and love for the day. Don't hold back. For tomorrow is never guaranteed.
Lovely song by Nightwish, but,...live version is hundred times more impactful !!! And actually ,..."While Your Lips Are Still Red" is not an official Nightwish track, but Holopainen has stated that he is not comfortable with releasing any material under his own name. The Nightwish website clearly states that the song was written by Tuomas Holopainen and features him on keyboards, Marko Hietala on vocals and Jukka Nevalainen on drums. NWSU 🤘😎🤘.
I assume you get recommendations a LOT but I have to throw mine in there Suicide Season by Bring Me The Horizon Many lines in the lyrics of that song has helped me express my emotions going through my worst times. Love your videos!🖤
This song was written in the era between tarja and Annette- it’s on a b-sides album from that era. The imagery is a Finnish movie called Lieksa(I think that’s the spelling) song makes it look very interesting but I have not seen the movie
I love all 3 of the female Nightwish singers, you should check them all out. They each have a unique style and I love them all for their own styles. Love Marco too, he has the most beautiful voice.
Your message at the start of the video rings so true, and it is good to be reminded that others maybe going through something themselves. As others said, this is a good video but the live version at Wembley is much much better. You should check it out for sure!
the escapist, while your lips are still red and the heart ask pleasure first are the bonus track from dark passion play but the song the heart ask pleasure first it was released on the single "The Crow, the Owl and the Dove" from the following Imaginaerum album as the original author of the piece, Michael Nyman, did not grant them permission to release it.
Hey Amanda, have you heard the song If I could Turn Back The Hands Of Time by R.Kelly? Not sure if I asked you already or not. But in the video the guy is in a bad car wreck and it reminded me of myself being in a bad car wreck and leaving the girl I was with.
