XY is a relatively new group, releasing their first single called "Crazy Love" almost a year ago. They consist of 13 members; 5 of them in a band group and 8 of them in a dance/vocal group. Sometimes they all do songs together and sometimes the two groups do separate songs. For example, "Crazy Love" was done by both groups together, "YG" was done by the band group and "Get Stupid", which will be released this Friday, will be done by the dance/vocal group. But there will also be times when the vocalists will switch places between the groups, such as GAI (red-haired singer) joining the dance/vocal group if the song requires hip-hop or rap vocals. One of the purposes of XY as a whole is to not be confined to a specific genre. "YG" was an untitled demo song by YOSHI, who was originally chosen to be the vocalist of the band group. He unfortunately passed away in an accident before they were able to debut. Since YOSHI's parents wanted them to continue their work, GAI and KARMA were chosen to be duel vocalists for the band group afterwards. The title of "YG" was chosen since YOSHI came up with the concept of the song and chorus lyrics, while GAI finished arranging it.
