It’s almost like he cares more about her finding someone else that is better than him. It is pretty counter to what pop-punk usually is because they usually blame the woman more. He seems to have a grip that it’s him and not her. It’s very mature for pop-punk.

This is my favorite song, really appreciate you taking the time to listen to it. The music video is trash. Ryan wrote this for his gf at the time. She was on her way to a university and he wanted to move to California to become a rock star. He knew he couldn't be the man she deserved so he wanted her to find someone else who can be there for her.

Hey D. Gibby, Love the hat! GO GATORS!! I'm from Jacksonville Fl. The same city that the band "Yellowcard" is from. I've seen them in concert with my daughter years ago. They put on a good show. I love my daughter so much, I gave up going to see Metallica and Guns and Rose's together to take her to the Yellowcard concert. If you can, check out "Shinedown" they're another Jville band. This song is about Ryan Key, Yellowcard's lead singer, and his decision to leave his girlfriend. He knew it was the right thing to do, but struggled to understand it. "It was a weird breakup," he told MTV News. "It was one of those where I felt like I had to do it, even though she didn't do anything wrong. I just needed some space to figure life out for a while on my own. And I think that's what the song says."
