Y'all laugh, but when I was in high school worship team during the early 2000's, we legitimately played this chorus during worship multiple times.

As a "sound guy" I laughed out loud that you could barely hear the backup singer in the mix....so accurate

The Reason is definitely the best song to put in this genre lyrically and musically

A teen brother of my friend died when this song came out and I had introduced them to YC and this actually played at the end of his funeral at Hillsong church. It was heavy. He was only 14 and ended his own life

I love this. I was a pop punk worship musician for a long time. The sound guy always praised the guy with the amp modeler over my expensive tube amp. I wanted to see if I could get away with using Yellowcard in church. Dammit Melton, you are a genius. This straight up sounds like a Hillsong United song that they would have released in 2012.

Youth worship band leader for 15 years and was on main worship band for 20... I can't believe how accurate this was. haha The part that got me was when he said "No one's gonna sing with you cause you're not gonna be in the house". LOL Bro. This sound check was S tier. The whole song had me realizing how cliche everything we do in church is... sad but true. But hey, sounded awesome. I'll go to your church any day. lol

Growing up, my church’s youth group would sing a few worship songs before our lessons. Because it was a cappella, anyone could start a song and the rest would join in. One time a parent brought their 5 year old kid and he started singing Reflection from Mulan. So we all just joined in and sang about the girl we see in the mirror. Honestly pretty impressed with how many of us knew the words by heart

As lights and sound (for church) I can confirm that the intro is spot on. Also kinda sad this song is more "spiritually" deep than some songs we sing in church today.

As someone who's sung at church and going through soundchecks, this is THE most accurate thing I've ever seen! The part that had me in stitches was when Alex plays the song through Ableton and he's just standing there! That's exactly what people on stage would do at my church when they would test the track. 🤣

I play guitar for our youth group from like 15-19. Im a metal head/pop punk/emo. Me and 3 different drummers we had all liked the same music. So when we had a more up beat song, you better believe we had some half time stuff. One of staff members laughed so hard the first time we did it. And one night he was really into it and started head banging. One of the drummers said he saw the pastor head bang one night. The shit i got away with on guitar was great. I some how convinced the music leader that drop c was a great tune.

LOL If you want it to be really authentic, gotta lower the video quality, camera changes when the operator isn’t ready, mess up the lyrics verbally, but include them on the screen like closed caption style… but then the lyrics person has to go to the wrong line, etc. I’ll say it again, it’s so funny how accurate this is. What could be wrong about blending them together? Infact, blending them just makes new creations of GREAT MUSIC. Alex Melton is a TRUE MUSICIAN + UBER TALENTED.
