Did he really have any relations with Sese? I know he slept in her bed during his wedding night with Xiao Feng but he was so drunk and passed out. Probably why she never got pregnant either... Then afterwards Sese was punished many times by the Empress that he really didn't have many chances to see Sese from then on. He must've felt relieved since he never really loved Sese anyways. Whenever Sese went to seek him out he made excuses that he was busy 😂 To be honest, I thought her character was very weak minded. People who have to result into playing dirty games to get what they want means they have no confidence in themselves. Plus Xiao Feng is so beautiful compared to Sese who looked so ordinary.

The 5th prince couldn't because he and the 9th princess were not officially engaged in Li Dynasty yet. The Li emperor had not conferred the title of crown prince to the 5th prince yet, plus he did not know that his 5th son and the 9th princess had already been married.

He had to pretend that he had no affection for the princess but the other lady. He did not want people to know whom he really loved or the princess would get targeted by the empress and the prime minister. He pretended he loved Zhao Se Se so that Zhao Se Se would get punished by the empress instead. At that particular scene when he talked to Zhao Se Se, he was trying to hide his feelings for the princess but he did not know that the princess would get disappointed and walked away.

@@patriciang4940 Agree but it is still heartbreaking for xiao feng. To protect her, he had to resort to cruel ways and XF had to endure his scoldings and even a slap
