love it! Ruach did so well for his first time! i do have a few questions as a first time horse owner, too what shampoo do you use for Tucker? my guy Texas has similar colouring and right now we have shampoo for greys. i'm unsure if it will ruin the chestnut bit of his coat. also, how can you help your horse become less stressed in a new environment? he was trailered into the new adjustment a few days ago when we bought him, and since he really doesn't know me too well yet i'm unsure how to calm him. help would be appreciated! keep caring for these lovley animals and keep doing you!

Congrats on your new horse! I use baby shampoo or Mane & Tail. Both are cheap; some Appaloosas have sensitive skin, so the baby shampoo is good for that as well. What I’ve learned about horses adjusting is that it just takes time. It can take a few months I feel for certain horse to really feel at home. Establish a routine you stick to rigorously, as that will help your horse know what to expect each day. I wouldn’t ask too much of your horse right now, but just let him get comfortable with you within the routine. I hope this helps!

I really enjoy your videos, so much information! I just purchased my own horse farm in upstate New York, 85 acres, and I have my small heard of draft horses finally home. I appreciate all of the information that you share with us viewers, it definitely helps us fellow horse lovers.

I really enjoyed the trail ride footage! 😊 You all looked so happy. That big flat area looked dangerous, you made a good call not to ride on it. You'd think there would be warning signs?!

He did way better for his first trim than my dog did for hers lol. And I spent a ton of time trying to desensitize her. Didn’t work lol. Do you feel comfortable to share the name of the trail you used? It looks so pretty and I’m semi in the area and would love to check it out sometime with my dog.
@CarmellaAbel

Yeah, I have the same problem with my dog too 😂 The trail is in the Big Levels 4x4 Wilderness area; there are a bunch of nice riding trails out there; some can get pretty rocky though. You should check it out!

That trail ride looked like so much fun!!!! I also just got a very pushy horse, a draft cross. We are working on personal space as he is way too big to be pushy! We have a few little sheep on our farm and they are super cute but also pro nuisances 😂 I love you videos 😊

Are electric bikes allowed on the trails in your area? Our local horse groups have been fighting to keep them off of our non-motorized, multi-use trails. They are too fast and too quiet.
@CarmellaAbel
@CarmellaAbel 11 месяцев назад
The trail system we go to has different types of trails. Any trail where they are not allowed is marked “foot traffic only” - or “no motorized vehicles.” It’s nice having the trails marked, because I can choose what I want to encounter that day haha
