When it comes to driving the Nürburgring for the very first time, people are often discouraged by the track's technical aspect, the weather or other drivers. Today I will show you how you can be slow and safe on you first lap.
Thanks for watching!

That's actually a pretty interesting video. It's more or less how I'm thinking my first lap will be. I was kinda thoughtful at first about it though because I was always hearing that driving slow in the Ring can cause accidents etc but I think you made it pretty clear that if your purpose is simply to enjoy a nice relaxed drive, staying on the right side will be safe and ideal for everyone.

One thing to note: Dont be afraid in the way like "The track is so tight that i am a bit afraid". This track is still like 6 or 7 meters wide. I was surprised myself the first time how wide it actual looks in person.

Went to the Nurburgring last weekend and it was amazing. The experiance isnt only on the track, the whole area is great to explore. Great back roads, great food, the Nurburg was great, had an Apex taxi with the GT2(most violent fun you can have), also had the RSR experience with the new Civic type R, even took my own 318is shitbox for 6 laps. Any car guy should visit the ring for a few days. I even saw you Misha at the Apex quarters. Best regards from Ireland.

Misha, great advice, as always. May I add one thing: the importance of really using the rear view mirror(s). In most countries, except on German highways, mirrors are often neglected because the speed differential of all cars is almost zero. Therefore, most drivers are just not used to really using them, nor have they ever experienced a car seemingly “far away” being on your rear just a few seconds later, with a speed differential(!) of 100mph/160km/h. They’re going 60mph and think they’re fairly fast, but the guy behind them is at 160mph, on edge, and his well-being in this split-second situation depends on the guy in front now to not screw this up! That would be my #1 advice on a German highway, and also for the Ring.
@MichaelBlek
@MichaelBlek Год назад
I Used to drive in a city full of crazy people and that made me check mirrors frequently. This saved me many times from stupid crashes. Great advice!

As with everything, the risk lies with the car going at high speed, you can’t count on a beginner who has every right to be on the public road to know it all. If you want to chase lap times and drive like a lunatic enter a race

My biggest fear are the unexperienced drivers that do push theirselves to much to try and look cool and because of it, not being able to stay on the inside and bump into you

Thank you, this video made me fell much more confident about being a first time slower driver on the track next year. Be mindful of faster traffic, keep right, be aware, use your mirrors and don't be stupid. Got it. We should have watched a Video like this before we went to the Nürburgring. My best friend totaled his VW Bora within 2 mins on the Ring because he undererstimated the corner and went way too fast. But I will still come back and try to be safe and learn the Track the right way. Mistakes are part of the learning experience! Thanks Misha for your awesome Content!!

Enjoyed the tour with track names. The last time I drove the track was in 1965 in a VW Squareback. On that day both the Nordschleife and Sudschleife were open. There were no barriers at that time only the hedges and trees. BTW, there is also a section of road in the Mountains nortthwest of Frakfurt called the Schwalben Schwanze.

The German idea of slow driving never ceases to amaze me, lol. The relaxed drive for me would be 90 - 100 kph. Yes, I am a Bmw driver who hates driving on busy roads ... or driving. Period. But even driving like I normally do on the Nordschleife would be a great experience . Love that you filmed this on a normal car, not a muscle car. And that kubica video. 👏👏

Hey Misha, How is it going? Your last post's of RingTraktor and Touristenfahrten in general motivated me to much man!!! So yesterday morning, i just stept in my completely standard 1.4 Ibiza6L and drove straight from The Netherlands (Zoetermeer) to Nurburg. Man i was so slow at the track from the excitement but that didn't matter... Sticked to the rules and enjoyed my time on track! I had one of my best experiences in my life !!! So thank you for motivating me to go to the Nurburgring. Btw... Your video's are awesome and also very educational. Keep on going !!! Greetz, Melvin (ESRacing)

i took on the ring a few days ago, kept to the right and it was fine. honestly, i enjoyed the backroads around the ring more, than the ring itself. maybe because it wasn't as stressful, but those roads are tight, with back to back hairpins. very fun 10/10, would go again.

The only concern for me, is if you push the car to 200, 250+ KM/hour on straight road, how do I know when I need to break to approach the bend/what speed to enter the bend at? Only people who hit this track consistently will know right?! At the same time, I’m worried about going too slow around the bend, and getting approached by cars who can approach the bend at double/triple my speed!

I would love to join the nuerburgring with my 131ps dacia dokker. For the first time I would like to have an experienced driver driving with my car and show me how to. My biggest fear is the speed, what's possible, corners where I can't see behind the corner and the grip level. Saw many videos people loosing their car because they don't know the track and the conditions. If I have to stay only on the right there is not much space for mistakes if the car pushes to the outside.
