@CanPacificFishing I see you went around the summer time, snapper season. Hopefully winter for squid will be a bit quiet. We're looking to get there sunday morning!
@CanPacificFishing it will be our first time too. We learnt last year that going during summer isn't worth it. So we've stuck to winter fishing (squidding) Hope you have succes elsewhere !

The fishing pressure at St Leonard's pier is huge. So many people during peak times, most catching nothing. If you watch the locals, some of the older Maltese people fish inside the harbour under float with very light tackle. They always seem to do well, but they are fishing to eat and are happier with smaller meal-sized fish like mullet and garfish. The end of the pier can do very well in rougher weather for snapper and salmon. Maybe with the storms this week it might perform a little better.
Very good info, It was my first time to fish there, now I have better idea of the place. I might try there with my kayak, I believe it will be bit better satisfying
I'm going to fish St. leonards pier early Sunday moning for the first time. I'm hoping to catch a good feed, God willing. Can you still catch good-sized pinkies and squid at the moment, or is it too late past the season.
Literally 30 minutes later, they start catching. All day nobody caught any fish, I was the one landed first fish but I had to leave due to not sleep 24 hours
