Early morning train travel from Copenhagen, Denmark to the northern German city of Hamburg. As a big fan of rail transport (tetsudou otaku), this was definitely a pleasant experience! Tickets are way cheaper than in Japan. I was also surprised to know (and experience) that in order to reach the German border by train, the passengers, AS WELL AS the TRAIN, will have to board the ship and take a 55-minute ferry ride to the German soil! Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (or Hamburg Hbf aka Hamburg central station) is also a visual treat!
P.S. This is a late post. I traveled to Northern Europe and Germany last year November 2019 when there was no or little threat brought about by the COVID-19 virus.
