This is great! I'm stopping for a day on a cruise so will follow this. Didn't get of in Palma last year which I regret! Your recent videos have me eyeing a proper holiday in mallorca
Fantastic video Alex! Lots of lovely and familiar footage of picturesque Palma. The map that you are providing to go with this video is fantastic and such a brilliant resource! I struggle to read and follow maps so I think I will play this video when I do this tour aswell as looking at the map with your route. Just love Palma! Can’t wait to return and soak up the city atmosphere again.
That was a brilliant video Alex. I absolutely loved it. I have been lost in palma twice 😅 and I’ve always been scared to come back. But the video makes me even more determined to try again
I was the same when I first moved to Palma. It really is a maze of streets . Please go back and see if the google maps link gets you around! You should be redirected if you stray off the path too!
Fab tour Alex. The first time my daughter and I came to Mallorca (we have a Mum and daughter holiday each year) we stayed in Palma. We loved it and I've just seen the restaurant we had a great Paella!! We couldn't remember where it was, so thanks for that. We stayed in the city and went on the buses out to the coast and it was then we found Port de Soller. Have been going there ever since, but I think when we come back again next month we'll definitely have a day in Palma. Thanks again, you're a star!
Awww, that's lovely Jenny. My Mum and I used to have Mum and daughter holidays every year and sadly she's no longer able to travel. However, I'm hoping my daughter will keep up the Mum and daughter holidays tradition in the future! Literally travel is just the best time to have together. So many happy memories!
Its like you read my mind alex i will be in palma at the end of the month thanks for the walk around most of what you showed was what i was planning to do ☺.
Great video Alex. Brings back many happy memories. I'd recommend Cappuccino in San Miguel for great atmosphere while having a coffee. Beautiful location. Many thanks, John
Very good point.... you know I contimplated going up there, but I had about an hour and a half to film this, and I could see it in the distance. I'll be back making a different video there soon though but it has to be included. It's an amazing place!
What a well filmed and well presented vlog, I absolutely love Palma, been many times and generally stay in hotels in the city itself, a very charming and beautiful historical interesting place that I never tire of, fabulous shops, excellent restaurants make it the perfect city break, thanks for sharing and bringing back so many wonderful memories ❤️👍
Wow you must have been hot! Brought back very happy memories of our life in Majorca. For families with younger kids there is an amazing park behind And built in top of the Intermodal Station
Hola Alex I visited palma with my daughter last july and had an amazing time we loved the resturants and tapas bar and so much to see ill be in cala de mallorca October time and so tempted to do a day trip to palma I loved the video have a great day❤
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun I was in santa pona last year and going again ro can pastilla in October for a short break but woukd love to see the rest of the island palma looks fab
To follow in my footsteps, here is the route on Google Maps (download Google Maps on your phone. You will need to log onto your Google account to see this route: goo.gl/maps/JVcbpiw5yxmZvg5CA I would love to know if this is useful. Let me know in the comments!). To find out more things to do in Palma de Mallorca, and to book them, check out this article here: mallorcaunderthesun.com/15-things-to-do-in-palma-de-mallorca/
This was a brilliant tour around Alex. I've never really explored. We stayed a few times quite some years back but stuck to the same places. I fancy a Christmas time visit, it would be magical. 😃🎉🌲🌟
Another great video, Alex. You almost don’t need the beach st all; so much to see and do in the old city of Palma. I want to take that new itinerary of EF Go Ahead tours next year that begins in Barcelona, then a flight to Menorca, then the ferry to Alcudia and on to Palma and Valencia as an optional extension. Check it out. 😮
Hello! I’ve just taken a look at this - it looks wonderful - what a fantastic way to travel ! The company looks fab ! I think you’ll have an amazing time (especially the Mallorca section of the journey )!
Love the Free Walking Tour video. Thank you for giving us an idea on our first time to explore Palma next month.😎 Any bus hopping idea to see the scenic coastal view?
I would say, do a boat trip from Palma to get views of the coast. Try this tour. www.getyourguide.com/mallorca-l47/palma-de-mallorca-luxury-catamaran-tour-with-buffet-meal-t396956/?partner_id=1SM81XK&cmp=yt
Thanks for another great video, we arrive on the 14th to Palma Nova, this is the first year we will have been since I was diagnosed with celiac disease. I’m a little bit anxious and wondered if you have ever done a video on “Gluten Free” eating out and shopping in the Mercadona as we will be self catering and wondered if you had any advice you could share. Thanks again Andy
Hey Andy, Many restaurants have gluten free options now. Come on over to the Mallorca Under the Sun Facebook group. One of the admins is gluten free, so she can also give you recommendations.
Hi , we have found your video's very informative so thanks, we're coming to mallorca in early sept arriving 9th, well drive to Soller and stay for 2 nights, then we plan to explore the island, do you think we need to prebook hotels and restaurants at this time of year or should we just wing it? Many thanks
Hi Mark I would absolutely recommend booking hotels because o anticipate the island will be busy in September. Same with any particular restaurant you want to go to. We’ve winged it this summer with restaurants and always found somewhere to eat but hotels are another matter!
Love your videos!! Were going back to palma nova / magaluf after about 10 years. Can anyone tell me if contactless payment in bars etc are as acceptable as other parts of the island??? Thanks
Hi, we are heading to Mallorca soon and wanted to visit Palma for a day out. We liked this video because we are going to follow the advice We are driving from Alcudia and want to park up in Palma I couldn't hear the name of the carpark which was suggested Could someone please type it for me Thanks
Arriving tomorrow night at 9pm still no hotel booked. Looking for a cheap and cheerful for one night or possibly 2. Any recommendations welcomed. Close to the airport too! Thanks in advance
Hey Alex. I know this is an older video but im coming to palma as a solo traveller for 4 days in just over 2 weeks. Im getting stressed about getting lost in Palma. Do you think i will be ok solo and not find it too hard to explore Palma. I am used to santa ponsa never stayed in Palma.
Hi Marie - don’t worry ! Palma is a really small city and the old town may look confusing on a map so even if you take a wrong turn you’ll end up on a main square. You’ll have a wonderful time! Make sure you take a walk to the city beach and into Portixol and Ciudad Jardín. Lots of buses run back to the centre! Have fun !
Thanks. U put my mind at ease a bit☺ Was in seans bar in santa ponsa during the rugby when u were recording your video. Too shy to say hello but recognised you straight away.
@@mariebarry1353 NO WAY ! That’s a shame ! Look you’ll be fine in Palma - even get the train or bus to Soller one day! I’m around and about in the city a few days a week too so if you see me please say hi !!
I can’t remember without searching on Google. To save me a job - Google “TIB bus timetable Santa Ponsa to Palma Mallorca” and you’ll even get a timetable and bus stop info too !
Thank you Alex i didn't know about the market, been to Palma city a few times.Dont buy off the Gypsey rose sellers, you will be distracted by other gypsies who gather round you,and when you get your wallet out your wallet&money will be gone(pinched)by them. be warned,it happend to me in the plazza mayor, and I was street wise. The basilica San Miguel is lovely inside.
Yes! I've seen them in action. I was amazed to see the police car patrolling which is actually a first, but I think this presence was keeping them away. Have to really keep your eyes peeled in Palma. ps. The market is briliant - you have to go next trip!
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun Went to Palma City this morning,There were 2 policies local on foot around the Plazza Mayor, also a police car entered as we were leaving.Have pre warned other english tourists at our hotel Globales Palma Nova,to be aware of buying a single rose from anyone especially the gypsies any where inside Palma City as they will loose there wallet or purse befor they know what's happened. xx
