Just discovered you because of Ren. You are amazing. This song hits me deep as a 51 year old living with end stage kidney disease, life long dialysis, anxiety and depression. You speak so well and you're not afraid to let your emotions show. Keep up the good work and peace ✌️

Ren v Chinchilla's Chalk Outline and How To Be Me are my two top favorites of his songs so far. Of course Hi Ren is right up there too. You must react to "How To Be Me" its so powerful. Quiet a few years ago Ren lost his best friend to suicide. He jumped off a bridge, late at night, at a very dark moment in his very short life They were never able to find his body. It impacted Ren immensely, I'm guessing it's in a very safe way given Ren courage in the years following. Like all Ren's other music he pulls you in and you feel everything. He's so original, positive and engaging. I'm 68 and respect that not only is he an extraordinary talent, but his perseverance, strength and his ability to never gives up (even though he's had every reason to) is so impressive. It's clear Ren strives for happiness, his ability to continue to evolve and grow has turned him into a young man that will change the world, he will change many lives in a massive positive way. I've struggled with mental health issues my entire life. The truest line for me is the "I'm scared of being ok cuz all things change." Sometimes it amounts to who will remain at your side if/when you DO get better. People I thought I could rely on and catch me if I fell ended up cutting me out of their lives. I wasn't the "same person" any longer. Looking back I see it was nothing I did wrong: finding my personal strength meant they could no longer control me. I wasn't their doormat anymore. I'll always struggle with mental health, but at least at this point in my life I'm surrounded by people who honestly support me with a terrific therapist who has undoubtedly saved my life a million times over. Never give up the fight. 🙏♥

Ren using the acoustics of his sets to create the soundscapes in his songs is an incredible talent that I don't see anyone else doing. He creates a bigger sound with his vocals and a simple guitar than other entire bands i listen to.

Now THIS is the type of reaction I was looking for. I was absolutely reduced to TEARS the first few times I heard this. Absolutely breathtakingly tragically beautiful.

I feel you man!♥I was already in the Chinchilla rabbit hole for the last weeks and fell in love with her raw emotional voice. This song is just the tip of her iceberg. She has an unearthly voice and talented AF. I wonder why nobody goes through that rabbit hole and react to her solo live performances yet. Wow - did not think my first reaction to this song could be made even deeper by watching your reaction - thank you 💙. Had to step away a bit - collect my thoughts. Yes, I agree that medication is over prescribed. Yes, the wrong treatment is given and it can take a very long time to find the right treatment. Yet we need to be very careful - many treatments work, it just may take time. Mistakes may happen but we can't give up trying. Something Ren said in another video about his experience trying to find the right treatment took years. The thing is - even when you find what works the treatment can cause long term harm. My mother suffered with a Chronic condition for decades. Years ago she had major surgery and took a particular medication to keep her condition under control. That medication contributed to why she died. Yet it kept her alive for many years. They now have other medications to treat this condition. She experienced the best and worst of the medical profession. At one point they had to restart her heart. The worst didn't break her - it kept her fighting. Why I am to sharing this with you after watching your reaction was something you said earlier on... On the last day with her in the hospital one of the final things she said to me before they took her to another hospital - thinking they could save her - was No Regrets. Maybe it was what she had been saying to herself for years. Maybe she wanted me to hear it and remember, because she knew there would be times I wish I had done more. Why I say this to you... You seem to carry shame for things in your past. The thing is - those experiences make you who you are now. Someone who has found Ren. Someone sharing your reactions that are making this even more extraordinary for others. No regrets does not mean you forget everything - pain, addiction... Embrace this and try to live each day with no regrets. My mother lived in so much pain - yet even as her body betrayed her she tried to live with no regrets. Thank you 💙

This is from a year ago so you probably wont read this but yes I agree with you ,Ren isn't one genre of music you can't just put him in one box. I feel so lucky that I get to experience his music in my life time. I was lucky another to grow up listening to the The Beatles, then I thought everything had been done, it got me down thinking that I had herd it all, but here I am hearing something new and amazing. I am an ex heroin user and have mental health problems so maybe because of that it means more to me. Anyway nice one mate, fkin good reaction xx

REN has so much soul to his voice and storytelling. A very important message in order to heal is to allow yourself to be vulnerable and Feel! It is very hard but it is a healing and refreshing thing to cry and it is completely fine and human. Humans are very unique in the sense that we are the only species on the planet that cries out of emotion that we know of. No other species does this. Be grateful for the ability to feel as deeply as you can.

4:21 …..when you know, you know. That line hits me in the stomach still. Over a year later. When you’re afraid to be “ok” it’s hell. That’s how I live, I had meningitis and it messed up my brain function that my anxiety button is always on. That fear of being ok is something I deal with all of the time because the way my health goes is I’m ok for an hour and 3 months in bed. Then get a good couple hours and back down again. It’s a constant hell. Not to mention I was left in permanent pain that can’t be controlled by anything. So I have to “deal with it all”. This song helped me deal SO much! When you know you’re not alone, it’s so damn important! 💗

I’ve been down the Ren rabbit trail. EVERYONE in REN’s periphery is extremely talented. To name some: The guys in his group - The Big Push, Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins, another lady he sang a duet with recently but I can’t remember her name. Also gotta include his associates in video production like the cameramen. I guess it’s true that talent attracts talent.

God bless u man. I just recently got sober. I was diagnosed as bipolar when I was 17 and it hasent been easy. Through my faith. And, my determined will to persevere I'm here today. Respect for being sober so long!!! My son showed me this guy and I couldent help but cry cause this is as close to me as any artist I've ever heard. I relate so much to Ren.
