I feel kinda sad when people react to their recent songs because they don't often make it to the older videos since Gfriend isn't active anymore. The true essence of Gfriend was in their original innocent yet powerful concept during the Rough, Glass Bead and Me Gustas Tu era, and at that point Gfriend were really one of 'those' groups. South Korea loved them! If I'm not wrong they still have the highest number of show wins for a k-pop girl group. As an SNSD fan, they always reminded me of pre-Gee SNSD and I was there for it!
That record belongs to Apink-LUV with 17 wins, Gfriend-Rough is second with 15 wins, and Gfriend-Navillera is third with 14 wins! I hope they get to watch the school trilogy at least, that made Gfriend my fave Kpop group until now!
mago means magician in Spanish* additional info: gfriend already disband just last year, it came out of nowhere, so basically, mago is their surprise disbandment song, they're very talented, they're vocally and dance based group. yuju being one of the best vocalist in the kpop industry, and also sinb being one of the best dancer. please do gfriend apple, time for the moon night, and rough or else, ill hunt you, jk. nice reaction, looking forward for more gfriend
try reacting on their debut song Glass Bead. You'll see how powerful the vocal and the dance itself. List to react: Me Gus Tas Tu Love Whisper Navillera Summer Rain Time for the moon night Fever Crossroads
GFRIEND, Girls' Generation and Red Velvet are my top 3 big girl-groups. I' am very happy Trifate guys reacted all of them finally! Thank you for sharing your reactions 🤗
If you want to check about them more it's better to react from the beginning to understand their storyline bcs they had it. Order of songs: Glass Bead (2015) Me Gustas Tu (2015) Rough (2016) Navillera (2016) Fingertip (2017) Love Whisper (2017) Summer Rain (2017) Time for the Moon Night (2018) Sunny Summer (2018) Sunrise (2019) Fever (2019) A Tale of Glass Bead : Previous Story (2020) Crossroads (2020) A Tale of Glass Bead : Butterfly Effect (2020) Apple (2020) Thank you for reacting to Gfriend. Love your reaction. 😍
They have over 100 songs in their discography and are much loved in their own country but little known outside Asia. A year ago South Korea voted for the group with the best discography in Kpop history and GFriend won by a landslide scoring more than double the votes of the 2nd place group. This is an amazing achievement for a group from a tiny unknown company who was so poor the CEO had to borrow money from his family and friends and mortgage his house just to pay for their first comeback in 2015.
I'm confused, though. If they were so beloved in SK, why did the Hui Trilogy flop miserably? None of the 3 title tracks even charted. It seems that SK took them for granted and only got popular again after they disbanded due to nostalgia. You know the old saying "You don't know what you've got until it's gone."
@@blebhan8213 not sure what the Hui Trilogy is as I haven’t heard that term before. I assume from the context that it is their final 3 comebacks released by Hybe after they took over 80% of Source Music, namely Crossroads, Apple and Mago. They tried to position them for a global audience at the expense of their SK popularity which only partly worked but soured the image and branding that was their trademark in their own country. A bit like Fingertip did in 2017. But they still had 12 music show wins in 2020 with these songs which is hardly flopping miserably. Virtually every Kpop girl group in South Korea is an even worse flop than them by that token. How many of them got 13 wins or more that year? But it is true that Hybe poisoned their reputation and branding in SK with their hard to take change of style which appealed to western audiences more. That is why each of the three songs had less success than the last. 7 wins then 3 wins and then 2 wins. If Source Music hadn’t sold their soul with the buyout I feel that GFriend would still be with us today and making them unique brand of music.
@@peterhugo2078 It's how "回" is pronounced. Anyways I learned about their existence from stumbling across a K-Drama on Netflix. I'm not even into K-Drama but Netflix assumed I was since I watched Train To Busan. The show kept playing this one particular tune in the background. Couldn't really care about the rap part of it but the voice singing the chorus caught my attention. Looked up the song on YT and learned the singer used to be in a K-Pop GG called GFriend. So I checked them out for the first time and I pretty much had the same reaction as these people from several MAGO reaction videos. I guess if you want to make a comparison to, say, the Beatles, this era would be their Helter Skelter era from 1967-1970 whereas the ones that you mentioned that South Koreans prefer would be the equivalent of the mop-top I Wanna Hold Your Hand era from 1962-1966. It's quite a shame, though, that this was their unintentional swan song. I do like them. And I'm really not that into K-Pop. I'm more into Led Zeppelin and the Beatles.
@@blebhan8213 thank you for explaining how that symbol is pronounced. I cannot speak Korean so have never known what it sounds like. Can you remember what the song was that caught your attention. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Spring Has Gone by Chance sung by Loco and Yuju which was an OST from the KDrama Girl Who Sees Smell. It was released less than 3 months after Yuju’s debut in GFriend when she was only 17 and won Best OST of the Year in 2015. If you aren’t keen on the rap you may be interested to know that Yuju has rewritten the song herself removing all the rap and adding her own new lyrics and melody but only for fun as there would be serious copyright issues if it was released on streaming platforms. But I watched my first ever KDrama Alice this year on Netflix purely to listen to Yuju singing Secret in the soundtrack which occurred a lot at the end of episodes. She sounded amazing. There is something unique about GFriend that attracts certain people who seem totally the opposite of what you would expect from their usual style of music. Many hard rock fans who love Dreamcatcher seem to love GFriend even though they seem superficially opposites. Even hard core Western rappers like Lil Uzi Vert are passionate about how much they love Gfriend to the shock and amazement of his usual fan base and rap community. I am sad that they were suddenly disbanded by their company with just 4 day’s notice when they all wanted to continue and their comeback album was just about to be released. But Sowon has promised that they will return when contractual issues have been sorted out between their different companies and she has suggested that she would like it to be next year. All the members angrily respond to anyone saying that they are disbanded saying that they are still GFriend and Sowon will always be their leader which is why VIVIZ refuse to choose a leader in their group. I hope they return as they are the only Kpop group that I will ever Stan.
Even though Gfriend disbanded and taken different paths they still manage to continue their story together. Just like what yuju did, her first mini album which is "Play" is connected to "Mago"
Gfriend was and will still forever my favorite girl group, so sad they disbanded but I hope they will do everything they want and be happy. Yuju my bias debuted as Solo and im so happy for her she slay it! and now Viviz will debut 3 member of Gfriend Eunha Sinb Umji. I think Sowon and Yerin they will act in kdrama or movies.
SinB is the one with the short black hair and Yuju is the one going crazy on the pole lol But the other members are Yerin (pink hair) Eunha (Long blonde hair and bleached eyebrows) Sowon (Long black hair and the tallest) and last but not least the maknae Umji (Dark blue hair)
What I tell people when they watch this video: Sowon: The tall one Yerin: Drew Barrymore w/ pink hair Eunha : The human disco ball Yuju: The pole dancer SinB: The hot one Umji: The other chick
Now that you've done Twice, RV, Somi, SNSD and Gfriend, please react to their Into The New World special stage, or Twice, RV and Gfriend 'Gee' special stage, do more special stages in general, love your reactions always ❤❤❤
Please react to more gfriend❤️🌹 expecially me Gustas tu,Time for the moon night, love whisper, fever and sunrise all their song is good and don't forget to react to their debut glass beads
Mago means magician. This whole album 'Walpurgis Night' is about a modern witchers. Most likely, it was went through their storyline after they ate the poisoning apple during 'Apple' era which is 'Song of the Sirens' album. They turned into modern witchers who never ever waver with eyes of ppl. Gfriend known with their complicated amazing theory and universe. If you watch the other mv, there's more theory. But most definitely (Labyrinth, Song of the Sirens & Walpurgis Night) are the greatest trilogy among their trilogy.

You guys cracked me up with your glitter reaction. God (or is it Mago?) forbid there was some kind of trauma about glitter in the past. LOL. Have seen you guys in IU's videos. As IU is my favorite kpop soloist, Gfriend is my ult girl group. Glad you made your way to see them. Although the group is unfortunately disbanded, their music and the girls' legend will live on. 2020 was truly the renaissance of disco in kpop and "Mago" is the epitome of the festival.
The group was really disbanded The truth is that the group has been disbanded and the members don't know that the company dissolved the group without their knowledge, they just learned from the news and everyone was very shocked because a group like GFRIEND was dissolved and the company broke the contract without the knowledge of the group members and everyone is very sad A group like GFRIEND does not repeat And it was the reason for the company's fame, then HYBE acquired the company, and a year or two later, the group disbanded and caused them losses after the disintegration because Gfriend is a group like no other and I blame HYBE I'm not alone. All Gfriend's fans blame them and everyone is very sad even idols are very sad For a gfriend
Actually GFriend didn't disband, they go out the company and sign with different ones, but the girls said that even if they do other things they still are GFriend and in the future they will release songs. PD: plis react to apple from them
I Would recommend you to react to LABYRINTH GFRIEND their 1thek performance usually they never did girl crush concepts but their genre were wide...but that was the first and last one ig and they ate
Before, Gfriend were innocent ladies, but now they are all grown. Gfriend has different types of concepts in each MV's. If u guys start from their debut song which is "Glass Bead" up to "Play" by Yuju, u can understand their story line
BTW, the sparkles are created by sequins, not glitter. Sequins are permanently attached to the clothes, so they wouldn't get everywhere like glitter does.
unrelated to the video but i just saw someone watch it but ultimate save one or drop one by NDL:k their most recent one was really good and i'd love to see which one y'all like more LMAO
