They bill themselves as "country" but they cover a diverse assortment of material, but yes they have that "country" sound because they're the only ones doing country a capella. They cover everything from Marvin Gaye to Dolly Parton and everything in between. This is one of those "once you pick it up, you can't put it down" groups. And as someone said in the comments below you must react to 'Mayday'.

Welcome to the land of Home Fries. I've loved listening to them since I first heard them about 8 months ago. They have such amazing talent. The lead in this song is Rob Lundquist. He has such an angelic voice, but on this song there was a part of him that came out I haven't seen. The other lead on the higher parts is Austin Brown. His high end is awesome. The bass in the middle part is Tim Foust, who's total range is crazy. He goes from super low in Sold, Do You Hear What I Hear, Ring of Fire, to high in Mayday, All About That Bass. If you have a subwoofer, don't play it too loud, he might blow it. He blew a speaker at a live show while doing Your Man. Adam Chance (affectionately called just Chance), carried the bass guitar line in this song. His range is more baritone, but very smooth. He can sing somewhat low, his best low note I've heard comes in Mayday, but he has gone lower in background. Adam Rupp is one of the best beat boxers in the world. His drum sounds are so good, most people can't distinguish between him and the real thing. He also has an amazing array of other sounds. Man of Constant Sorrow is one song that might give you an idea of how talented he is. Also, there are videos of him doing beat box solos in concert that will blow your mind. Combined, these 5 have the most amazing blend that makes their harmonies give you goosebumps. Seven Bridges Road, Helplessly Hoping, Auld Lang Syne, and How Great Thou Art are good songs that really showcase their blend. Definitely react to more of their stuff, your sub count will go up quicker.

I am both a huge Pentatonix fan and a huge Home Free fan . Home Free did a cover of Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire" featuring Avi and you really need to watch that one . You just got a little taste of Home Free's bass, Tim Foust and it is a bit mind blowing to see both of those basses together. Home Free does a lot of country and they do it very very well but they also do other genre's very very well also. And not just covers. They also have original music so check them out.

Even if you are not a country fan they do everything. Ring of Fire has Avi from PTX, God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood , American Pie with Don McLean for its 50 year anniversary, oldies Unchained Melody, To the Moon and Back is a classic of Dolly Pardon. These boys bring back the joy of old great music and do it with grace fun and family values. Try Helplessly Hoping, In the Blood, How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High on that Mountain, Misty Mountain, Do you Hear What I Hear, Mary Did you Know and for New Years you have to do Alde Lang Syne. Best version ever done. And they even recently did opera Nasum Dorme and killed it. If you like theater, Austin's Bring him Home is phenomenal. And just laid back feel good music, One Man Band or Cover me up are wonderful. If you need a hug, Everything will be Okay and Mom are amazing. Have fun!

Things to know about Home Free: 1-They do all genres of music. 2-They have 4 lead singers, no one is considered the lead. They take turns depending on the song. 3-The 4 "main" singers all have world class voices. (I'm not kidding) 4-The main Bass, Tim Foust, has a 5 octave range and can hit notes so low that you can't believe it. 5-They actually have 2 Bass guys. 6-Some of their best songs are from Pop music, with a country twist. 7- Their Christmas and Gospel songs are unbelievable. 8-You won't find any group that has better harmonies. 9-Their fans are called "Home Fry's" and you will become one if you listen to much more of their music. (don't say I didn't warn you) 10-If you are reacting to HF, I'm watching!

Home Free is amazing! They are a country group, but they do songs from other genres and put their own touch on them. Their beatboxer so is phenomenal and his drums so real, you’ll forget there are no instruments. “Honey I’m Good” and “Blue Ain’t Your Color” are great but any song from their list will impress. Yes, Avi worked on an old country favorite Ring of Fire with Homefree. And yes Tim (the bass) goes as low as Avi, but with a slightly different sound, one mellow, the other that deep country growl tone. Home Free does do a good deal of country, make a lot of if fun, but their voices are perfect in a variety of songs. The bass is incredible (Tim Foust), you seemed blown away by what isn't even his lowest notes.. he has blown bass woofers in concert. Their beat box is inhuman. (there is actually a solo beat box vid) and in Man of Constant Sorrow, he also does a harmonica sound that is incredible. You should go through all their songs, I think you will find something incredible in each one. Sometimes the bass, sometimes the tenor, sometimes its all about the harmonies.

They are an all-vocal country group, but they add beat to the country songs with their beatboxer and upbeat arrangements which makes them unique and something everyone can listen to and like. This song is more of a R&B song, but they add their touch to it and it turned out awesome!

If you review them again listen to their Elvira cover, which they actually did with The Oakridge Boys! Another to review if you haven’t is Where Rainbows Never Die by the SteelDrivers (a bluegrass band Chris Stapleton used to be in before performing under his own name). Side note: Tim Foust the main bass in Home Free has a range from A0-A5...

Yeah primarily country but they do a fair amount of pop and pop/country. I was never a country fan but their take on country is really appealing. The bulk of their videos are highly entertaining (not dissing PTX here, but their videos are infinitely more entertaining than anything PTX has ever put out and I think I've seen most of them). They've been around for a while now so they have a large volume of videos to choose from and they made a member change, so depending on how far back you go you'll see 2 different baritones. Their new baritone sang bass in this song...So in effect they now have 2 bass/baritones, which before they really only had one bass (Tim - the one you were surprised by here). Tim is one of the lowest bass singers in the A Capella industry so listening with headphones will serve you well. The same with their beatboxer Adam - one of the best (voted the best by his peers at one time I think). Most of their "solos" don't incorporate quite as much ad-libs or runs as this one did. This was a showcase for Rob who I'm realizing is quite amazing at manipulating his voice to sound different on different tracks (he sounds more edgy and twangy on "Man of Constant Sorrow" yet smooth as butter on "Blue Aint Your Color". They all take the lead at different times except for their beatboxer. Tip...if you're going to do "requests" (because you'll get a lot of them) look for the "official video" of whatever request you're doing...because often times people will pick out lives or audio only...and usually when a "Home Fry" is requesting a video they're talking about the official video release. Have fun with them - we Home Fries are pretty obsessed!

The Butts remix, Country Fried Pop Medley, Hunter Hays Medley, Woman Amen/Female, Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get it On, Fishin' in the Dark/Boondocks, a live version of Timeless/Try Everything. There are just some songs that can't be left out. Castle on the hill, Good Ol' Country Harmony, a live version of 9 to 5 with a beat box solo that knocks everyone's socks off. Damn - Guess I wasn't fast enough....... as I pause the reaction to Mayday to type this.........:( ........ but ......... oh well!!!! You have a lot of listening to do (and reactions) if you stay with Home Free. You're an Avi fan, don't blame ya there ....... Tim Foust (super bass) is just unbelievable with an unreal range. (Adam) Chance doubles as bass (very very good) but is listed as HF's baritone. --- OH, if you get requests for "Mayday", I ask that you hold off till you learn who's who and who does what and so on ........ before listening; you will loose or won't recognize the significance of it. A really good place to start is with the SingOff performances --- you learn so much here!!!
