Many Thanks for your sweet high sensibility, Risby! ... Yes, our live is often "Full of broken thoughts ...we cannot repair"!

Johnny Cash was a great actor as well as singer/songwriter. I wish he had done more on film so we could see him more often. Bless him and June.

This song makes you feel. A cover of a nine inch nail's song. Much more powerful with him doing it. This is like the disturbed cover of the sound of silence. The original is great but the cover is a step higher.

The Man in Black! He passed away several months after this video and shortly after his wife, who was on the stairs behind him. “A Boy Named Sue”…”I Walk the Line”…”Ring of Fire”…just a few 👍🏼

The original version of this written by Trent reznor from nine inch nails which was about addiction and depression. And even though a lot of people knows somebody whos addicted or depressed this song resonates even deeper because it's about what everybody's going to have to deal with at some point, the end of the life. Because death is the great equalizer. Doesn't matter whether you're rich and famous or living in a cardboard box. Death will come to see you the same. This is about johnny at the end if his life looking back and regretting the things hes done. Because in his heart Johnny was a country boy who love God and music. But in order to sell records he had to change himself. Hence that last line where he said if he could go back he would keep himself. Because he basically had to sacrifice his soul in order to become famous and sell records, and that would bring addiction and depression and losing people he loved and making him do things that now he regrets. But you can't take it back. I think that's the lesson of this version. At the end of life you're not going to be able to take the people you love with you, any more than you can take the fame and the money with you. All you have is your integrity and your soul. Don't give that up for anything or anybody.

Johnny Cash in a very specific way is the country music version of Pink Floyd and storytelling!!! And like Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash is his own genre!!! This song is a cover of a nine inch nails song and after the nine inch nails guys saw this version they said "it's his song now"!!!! Johnny Cash died only a few months after putting this song out and he told his daughter that this was his way of saying goodbye!!

Ultimately the whole purpose of the song is to make you ponder your own life. He believed the true saying that “Only one life, it will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” He struggled like we all should with ways that we have sinned against God in our lives and the imagery of Christ being nailed to the cross, paying the price for the sins of all who would believe on him is something he sang about and many other songs throughout his career. This life is very short whether you live to be 6, 70, or 110 years old. And that is just a speck of time compared to eternity which we will all live in one of two places. That is the gospel that is the truth and that is the deepest part of what Johnny Cash was grappling with in this song.

Johnny has passed away. He has some of the craziest songs you could ever hear because his voice was so unique. You definitely need to dive into Johnny!

Hey yes! Johnny cash was a great musician. Do you know "Columbo" with Peter Falk? There are is a part named "Swan Song" with Cash as Tommy Brown. Country singer Johnny Cash embodies Columbo's (Peter Falk) adversary as gospel singer Tommy Brown.
