One of the best Orwellian anti-establishment songs ever, by one of the most advanced bands ever. The lyrics say it best - "Where have you been? That's alright, _we know where you've been."_ 'What did you dream? That's alright, _we told you what to dream."_ The 'synths' hold up to this day. d(-_-)b
The album "Wish You Were Here" was dedicated to the original founder of the band, Syd Barrett. Barrett got messed up on acid and totally lost it and they replaced him with David Gilmour. To get the full measure of the recording you have to listen to the recording end to end. BTW, at the end of Welcome To the Machine where it sounds like he's in a bar you can faintly hearing people saying "hey Syd" in the background. You have to listen carefully. Glad you guys liked it!!
Tu devrais découvrir un autre morceau du même album qui s'intitule désolation row et tu comprendras pourquoi on lui a attribué le prix Nobel de littérature !
I saw PF 3 times in the late 70's and early 80's and there show was the most amazing spectacle i have ever experienced at a concert and I've been to at least 100.
What a shame......now you’re the expert on what Freddie has in the cups on the piano...sponsorship?? They would have to pay Freddie!....honey, water, tea, lemon, that’s what he usually has beside him....imagine trying to sing the way Freddie does if he was drinking alcohol?...you said that he’s always drinking alcohol?...really?
One of the greatest American bands of all time! Very deep rabbit hole. Check out Bad Moon Rising, I Put a Spell on You, Fortunate Son, Penthouse Pauper, Cotton Fields, Suzy Q and Heard it Through the Grape Vine to get a taste of their range. You won’t be disappointed.
What the hell dof you do man that’s totally messed up in the middle of him singing and we don’t care about the food and you should have taken care of that before
One of Queen's best entertaining moments. First time hearing the 'they were harnessed' possibility. Did read the train was at 30 mph. Fabulous looking and listening tho'.
Welcome to the Machine Gentlemen! I saw the "Pulse" Tour (Division Bell) at the Hoosier Dome June 14th, 1994, still have my ticket stub! Their albums are meant to be listened at as a whole rather than single songs.
Dylan was in his early or middle 20s when he wrote and recorded "Like a Rolling Stone". Now you know why some call him the "poet laureate of rock and roll" and is one of a very few songwriters to win the Nobel prize for literature. Check out "Rainy Day Women", "Positively 4th Street", "Lay Lady Lay", "Knockin' On Heaven's Door", "Tangled Up in Blue", "Hurricane" and "Tweeter and the Monkeyman" (the last with The Traveling Wilburys). All these came out in my 68 year lifetime and it thrills me to see someone your age discover a musical icon of my generation. Thanks for listening to the song straight through and keep on discovering. Oh, and also check out the hit Dylan covers by Jimi Hendrix, The Byrds and many others. You've found a real musical rabbit hole!
The live version in 2016 in Pompeii is much more “punchy” with the band (Greg Phillinganes on keyboards, Guy Pratt on bass...) The chorus sung by backing vocalist Bryan Chambers is heartbreaking and makes the hairs on my arms stand up and brings tears to my eyes. Of course the final guitar solo is...
You just witnessed one of the greatest live guitar solos of all time. Terry Kath was a genius and one of the best guitar players of all time. Taken from us so soon. RIP guitar master. 🎸🔥
Thank you so much, by the way for spreading positive messages with your merch. I dont have the money to buy one, but I would in a second. I love that! Im gonna stick around and subscribe 😊
This is one of the best live performance you'll ever see. I'm 75 yrs old and love his performance. At my age I love music and I know good from bad only because I am from the baby boomer music era. ❤❤❤
Pink Floyd albums, particularly starting with meddle, then dark side, then wish you were here must be consumed in one sitting in one sitting or you won't have the full impact of each concept album. They can be split into LP sides, but I would do it in one sitting otherwise you won't get the meaning, the impact of the lyrics, the soundscape that they wanted us to experience just gets lost in the ether.
The studio version of this is one of the best songs for cruising. It's nice that you enjoyed it so much. What I love about this clip is how much fun they're having. Making a living like that wouldn't suck. Shout out to the production crew. The filmography of this LIVE concert is incredible.🤩
