One of the best bands ever. One of the best singers, bass player, guitarist and arguably the best drummer ever.

I commend you for expanding your horizons. Enjoy the journey. You will learn so much, maybe make a few friends, and hopefully bank some coin in the process. Led Zepoelin's Physical Graffiti is a masterpiece. There is a full album for your reaction. Good luck!

From 1969 to 1973 or so, Robert Plant had the most powerful voice in rock. He was the original “Rock God” that other frontmen tried to imitate. He still had a great a voice through Zeppelin’s run, which ended in 1980 with the drummer (John Bonham) dying after an alcohol binge . Zeppelin WAS explosive........sexy as hell.....Jimmy Page; One of the greatest rock guitarist in history; Robert Plant, one of the greatest frontmen in history (I think the best, along with Freddie Mercury of Queen); John Bonham, THE greatest rock drummer in history; John Paul Jones, a musical genius who played multiple instruments..keyboards, bass, mandolin etc...The four of them together went to a whole new level in rock...pioneering, along with Black Sabbath, The Who, and Deep Purple, the HARD ROCK that went on to become Metal. You need to watch them live. Then you’ll see the fire, the energy the charisma that made them one of the most successful touring bands in history and one of the first to fill stadiums. I would suggest, Since I’ve Been Loving You live from Madison Square Garden (MSG) 1973 or In My Time of Dying live from Earl’s Court 1975 to see some of the best blues rock ever.

Led Zep is considered the greatest band ever. Singer, drummer, guitar are all considered top 5 ever. Crazy thing is when you listen to this, they were late 60s and early 70s and only 3 instruments and a singer and listen to the sound and music they make. Ultra talented.

Greatest band ever is obviously a matter of opinion, but the Beatles are most widely considered the greatest band of all time. You can take it or leave it, though.

Zepp has so many iconic songs and they are not just one style. They were the biggest band in the 70's with the biggest rock song of all time. ( Stairway to Heaven) and I think they still are like top 5 in all time record sales. They are heavily blues based and influenced at the heart of the matter and them and Black Sabbath are credited with creating heavy metal but you can't call them a blues or heavy metal band either because they do so many different things. But to get the full experience of them you should do something live from especially the 1973 Madison Square Garden Concert. Live is were they really shine. Because they often improvised on the spot and greatly lengthened many of their songs.

So my suggestion to hear see zeppelin at their best is check out something from their live 1973 concert/movie "the song remains the same" it was released as a film in 76 i believe. They added small fantasy type stories where each member got to do what they wanted and these were added through out the movie so if your watching a clip and it shifts to something not concert. Thats why. My favorite from that show is the title track montage which is labled the song remains/rain song. These are a back to back must. Plus the other is their biggest hit and like the 3rd best single ever charted sold..(dont quote me on that) but im close if not exact...is...stairway to heaven..its a must if your digging into zeppelin.

Once there was a time...when music was composed, lyrics were written and instruments were played by MUSICIANS. Music was NOT made by autotune, sound engineers, marketing managers & public relation agencies. Hard to believe? Yes, but true...

I’m glad this was the studio version, just overlaid onto clips of the band playing live. I always think it’s important for a newbie to hear the songs as they were on the album. Afterwards, hearing and seeing a live performance makes more sense. Zep always extends the jams forever live.

I remember the first time I heard it - in the back of a New York City bus. Some kid was playing it on his boom box. I had just started playing guitar. The solo blew me away! It was still a fairly new song.

Robert Plant, lead singer, was def hottt. His charisma and stage presence was one of the major things that drive this band to such epic heights. I am not slighting the others, at all, they all had incredible talent to add-and all four together made one of the best rock bands in history-but I’m just saying since you commented on him specifically Rock!

LedZep are considered by many to be to the 70s what the Beatles were to the 60s. Both have a huge catalog of great songs and seemed to be able to have mastery over totally diverse music styles. You should find many great tracks to enjoy. And yes, many bands in the 70s had to have the obligatory drum solo in a song or two. You happened to pick one from the LZ library first time out. For possibly the very first real drum solo, you'd have to listen to Iron Butterfly's 'Inna Gadda Da Vida'.

Led Zeppelin is easy. The first four albums are just I, II, III, and IV. They are all great. At least go through the big hits from each of those for reactions, but you'll want to listen to the full albums for sure. You will also want to see live versions of some of the songs, but people will tell you in the comments as you go through the first four albums which ones. (Stairway to Heaven at Madison Square Garden is a must, for instance) After that there are more great albums with great sounds, but you'll be far enough into your journey by then to figure it out from there. And don't forget Floyd! Also, Zeppelin send to get more copyright claims than Floyd for some reason.

Check out Willie Dixon’s song “You Need Love”. Dixon sued Led Zeppelin in 1985 because “Whole Lotta Love” plagiarised from “You Need Love”. They settled out of court and Dixon now is credited on Whole Lotta Love. Many of the songs Led Zeppelin put out - not all - were plagiarized. You should compare both songs and see the similarities and differences.

What's with the double middle fingers and swearing toward the end of the video? I'm not judging you, man, but I would gently encourage you not to behave like that. It's not classy, and its poor manners. You're intelligent enough to articulate yourself better than that.

What an uptight douche bag. Surprised you're not scolding Robert Plant about the overtly sexual lyrics and orgasmic moaning in this song.
