The ESC (Eurovision Song Contest) has been held since 1956. It was created because the various television companies in the European network of broadcasters wanted to practice broadcasting live together. Today 44 countries take part, of which 26 take part in the final (the others fail in the two semi-finals). The participants do not only come from Europe. The network of stations also has members outside of Europe who can also participate (plus Australia). Germany is one of the "Big Five" that go straight to the final. They finance the ESC and the station network to a large extent. Without them there is no ESC. In 2022, 161 million people watched the broadcast. There are compilations of the winners: All Winners of the Eurovision Song Contest (1956-2022) The participating artists are about half fixed. In Germany, Lord of the Lost is one of the big favorites for participation in the final. Because of their large fan base and a good song. The toughest competitor might be Patty Gurdy. The same applies to her. Her song is a folk-pop song and much quieter: Patty Gurdy - "Melodies Of Hope" (Eurovision Song Contest 2023 Finalist for Germany) Since the last winner came from Ukraine, this show should take place there. Because of the war she was transferred to England.

Speaking of Eurovision… in 2000, Nightwish entered for Finland, the made the final in Finland and they won the vote. However, the Finnish judges panel chose to send the second place finisher, Nina Åström, to the contest instead. (Shame be upon them forever! Especially Sammy Aaltonen who voted them 4th!) Nightwish had more than twice as many fan votes. The song they sang was Sleepwalker. Hi Debbie, thank you very much for reacting to LotL. I hope I didn‘t stress you and your heart to much with this song. It‘s powerful as the band is. Their range of styles and sounds is huge. Going on a Lord of the Lost journey would bring you an incredible variety. From really harsh songs over „balanced“ ones till the ensemble renditions from the „Swan Songs“ albums. For the latter category the song „A Splintered Mind“ is a perfect example.

There music reminds me alittle bit of my all time rock bands and that’s METALLIC. They were an amazing band back in the day. But this song is really really good. Loveing it. Oh boy, you are teetering on going down a genre rabbit hole that I consider my base (namely industrial). While not industrial, LOTL is one of my favorite bands. This could get interesting. Perhaps Mono Inc or, dare I say Rammstein next? Let's see where this goes. We love you, Debbie. Keep going. 😎💪

Off topic: I am certain you don't know that, but since the 70s there is a music competition called the European Song Contest (ESC) in which every country can send one artist and it is huge international TV event, Yesterday there was the German decision who we will send this year, and Lord of the Lost with Blood and Glitter won! Another German band with a female front singer and is dark / symphonic metal has some growling too, Null Postiv. But not as in your face like Tatiana from Jinjer. This is one of my favorites from them and there is English subtitles, .Null Positiv - Wo Rauch ist, ist auch Feuer (Official Video). She has an amazing husky voice. You may already know that Jinjer is from Ukraine, and there is another band from Ukraine with a female front singer and there is a little growling in some of their performances. Band is Ignea and this is one of the first I had heard of there's if interested IGNEA - Alga (Live) | Ingle Session, Episode 1, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zk6rjRoFc1o.html. My understanding is that some of the men were or are involved in the war. Not sure of the involvement but is posted on their website.

That wasn't bad. Some parts reminded me of Tiamat...the goth-y bits and clean vocals. There's no growls in Tiamat, except on their VERY early material. Maybe, if you want to check them out, try Brighter Than The Sun...it's very catchy. Cheers!

Hello and nice to meet you. I have watched a few of your videos and subscribed. I look forward to continuing to watch your reactions. I would like to ask something from you though. Please consider not placing videos regarding politics on your channel. I don't mean singers or rappers with their opinions, that's cool. Everywhere we turn we are bombarded with politics and division. I watch reaction videos to get away from all of it.
