Biggie was a supreme lyricist. No one can touch his word play, cadence or delivery. Great reaction, G.

Yes Sir..... Classic.....is it time for something from the list? Biggie loved the Chronic album. You can hear it in a lot of his music. Like that gun in the mouth thing he got from Dr. Dre. I's said when he heard the Chronic he went home and started writing rhymes. His first album you can really hear the influence....Yes that was Ditty. Well Puffy as we called him lol.
@PRSPR
@PRSPR 2 года назад
Damn I did not know that, that’s really dope. I guess it can be said that album is a Top 5 album based on the influence it had on the rap game. The only songs that I’ve heard were the singles I believe but I haven’t seen the music videos to those tracks, should I react to the music video of the singles from that album?

I always thought Ready To Die was New York's version of a more lyrical CHRONIC, ''Big Poppa'' 's production tells it, its just Biggie doing it his way. both Dope albums

💥💥No doubt, a super ill beat that is recognizable to many. Especially being a DJ, we had to have two copies to busy with. Shit was ill for beat juggling and for them cyphers. Initially, a lot was said about this song out here in the West Coast. Not too many heads really knew the full story...a lot of speculation. But none the less, B.I.G. did his thing on this track. Good stuff, PRSPR. 💯💯💯💯👊🏽😎

He’s referencing the 10 Commandments in the Bible given to Moses by God. For example, Thou shall not kill, Thou shall not steal, etc. So BIG added an 11th Commandment and phrased it in the same way Thou shall not…. The Ten Crack Commandments came out 2 years after Who Shot Ya. It was like a Ten Commandments for the crack game.

You are right in that many believe this song was not originally created to be a Tupac diss. The diss was that Biggie and Puffy released Who Shot Ya right after the Tupac shooting in Quad studios. Knowing that Tupac was just shot and releasing Who Shot Ya not caring was the diss. Biggie undeniably did not care about Tupac getting shot in Quad and didn't care when Tupac was killed either. That can be proven by watching this March 1, 1997 Biggie video on Sway: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WjHGcsQx3RI.html. When asked about the Tupac killing, Biggie didn't really give him respect and expressed that he has his own problems to worry about. Then, later on during his freestyle, he actually used the lyrics "I ain't mad at cha". That in itself is thumbing his nose at Tupac's tragic murder.
@PRSPR
@PRSPR 2 года назад
That’s interesting stuff, I’ll definitely check out that interview fam. But couldn’t that stem from the beef? Because Pac did diss Biggie a lot so when he died it would make sense that Biggie wouldn’t care, I might be wrong tho
@jmg1962

@@PRSPR Check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VXul_K47YFQ.html Jimmy Henchman was behind the shooting at Quad Studios, but Tupac was invited there by Puffy and Biggie. Even after Puffy and Biggie knew Tupac was gunned down at an event they invited him to for a collaboration, they still decided to release Who Shot Ya? To me, this incident was the ultimate slap to Tupac’s face and start of the beef. You’re right that Biggie was already rubbed the wrong way by Tupac’s disses leading up to Tupac’s untimely demise and openly didn’t care about his loss. My original point was to illustrate with proof from the Sway video that Biggie didn’t care about and didn’t respect Tupac after Tupac’s death. He saw Tupac as an enemy even after his death, and the “I ain’t mad at cha” lyric in the freestyle was a desecration of Tupac’s tragedy. It even makes the original Who Shot Ya? motive even more suspect.
@jmg1962
@jmg1962 2 года назад
That Sway video really changed my outlook on Biggie. I was just a teen back then but I always imagined him more innocent like not even really wanting beef and wishing they were cool all along. The Sway video changed my perspective on that a lot and brought me to the reality that both genuinely despised each other.

Leave it to Puffy or Diddy to ruin a song. Just like he did the Life After Death album. He tried to get his shine althoughout Bigs album. And probably charged Biggie for the background vocals. Great reaction PRSR. Check out Wu-Tang-Hollow Bones Nas & Kool G Rap- Fast Life Unreleased Remix (not the video)

Listen lol don't let ppl tell you this wasn't about 2pac because it was.... too many coincidences in this song .. ppl will try to tell you oh he wrote this song years prior to that blah blah blah.. bullshit the original who shot ya featuring Keith Murray has lyrics that are different and big only has one verse just like keth murray... plus the vibe front cover pac was on and then the 5 gun shots at the end of who shot ya just happens to be the same amount of times pac was shot at quad studios.. my friend.. this song was about 2pac.
