Voctave is an 11-member a cappella group based in Central Florida, United States. The group consists of several performers from the Voices of Liberty a cappella group at the American Adventure pavilion at the Epcot theme park at the Walt Disney World resort. The group often performs intricate arrangements of music from Broadway, Disney, jazz standards, and Christmas music. Among the unique characteristics which set the group apart from other a cappella groups is an extremely wide vocal range of 5 full octaves.[1]

The second gentleman from the far left is Jamey Ray, who is the founder of Voctave and the brilliantly-gifted arranger of all of their songs. Obviously, his singers are all phenomenal ... but it's his arrangements that place Voctave a giant step above the rest!

Watching Voctave perform this medley live in concert is absolutely mind-blowing. This is definitely one of my favorites. Even though there's no video for it yet (audio only), definitely react to Voctave's "Disney Heroes & Villains Medley". It features solos from all 6 men. "Prince of Egypt Medley" is also audio only but is one of their works to date. Also, songs from their jazz standards album don't get nearly as many reactions but they're some of Voctave's best: "Moon River", "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", "Sunny Side of the Street", "My Funny Valentine", "Smile", "Smoke Gets in your Eye", etc.

This is fantastical. You will love his one. The next Voctave you need to react to is their version of You will be Found with a virtual choir of their Patreon members. Kate's high soprano is out of this world beautiful. They pick the perfect voice for each song too.

Voctave is outstanding. Now you've heard the ladies of Voctave, check out the men with their Disney villian's medley. And their Great Movie Medley is a must. The Great Movie Medley is a tribute to John Williams (all scores written by John Williams) and for most of the time, you'll hear the harmonies without words. The Villan's medley doesn't have a video, just the music, and The Great Movie Medley is a video (with clips from the movie whose theme they're singing). Those are two that I highly recommend.

Woohoo! Glad you got around to this one. Great reaction and some spot-on points about music and their performance. Voctave rocks! More great stuff out there for you… Mary Did You Know (with the composer of the song), O come all ye faithful (Christmas in July? haha), and the in-studio video of Impossible Dream are among some good ones…

Amazing reaction my friend Skullz!!....In 2017, the music world was shocked by the bursting onto the scene of a 22-year-old singer named Dimash Kudaibergen, who performed on the famous Chinese competition show for professional singers called “The Singer”... It was just It was necessary for this young man to make his first appearance, making a cover of one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse", to be considered from that moment on as the best singer in the entire planet....No one in the musical field had ever seen a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges above 7 octaves and several semitones, that is, all 88 keys of a digital piano, which reaches a little more than 7 octaves and as if that weren't enough, sing the more than 12 languages...Since then all kinds of experts (Vocal coach, analysts, singing teachers, youtubers, reactors, etc.) have dedicated themselves to reviewing their presentations to try to understand how someone can sing this way...The incredible thing is that that presentation in China was in 2017 and 5 years have passed since then, but what Dimash has done in these 5 years is to further improve his wide vocal range, which is currently practically above of the 8 octaves... If you want some nostalgia their Disney 90s TV Medley is super fun to listen to. Someone Like You feat Jody McBrayer is one of my favs. As someone else mentioned The Disney Heroes and Villians Medley features the guys like this one did the girls but it is only audio. You will not be disappointed with their Prince of Egypt Medley. and the Great movie Medley is also a must. More will be said on later videos about their Christmas music because there are soooo many good ones. I saw them last October in person and they sound just like they do on their videos and are so fun!

Someone like you is one of my absolute favorites by Voctave. It's definitely worth a listen, but Voctave takes a bit of a back seat to Jody McBrayer in that one. Don't get me wrong--it's wonderful, I love it, and they should give Jody McBrayer center stage, but it's a little less focus on Voctave.

@@janhankins911 - "Someone Like You" is my favorite among all Voctave collaborations, with "Remember Me" a close second because Mariachi Cobre is so exceptional. I wish more reactors reacted to both songs. Another amazing Voctave collaboration that always gets overlooked by reactors is "Being Alive" with David Phelps.

In your comments above, you list the current members of Voctave. The "Disney Princess Medley" was performed by a slightly different group that included Tony De Rosa and J. C. Fullerton. Note that when Kate Lott was hitting a C6, Karl Hudson was hitting a C2 which really demonstrates why they chose the name "Voctave" (i.e. "V" octaves).

Of course, these vocal harmonizations are "perfect". Great vocal level (Kate Lott (soprano) blow my mind, just like that...). But let me point out one thing, an important thing. I've seen this performance many times, but only recently one of the noticed it and admits that she's absolutely right - the further in the chronology we move (I'm talking about the years when these films and their music were made), the less our requirements are and the vocals are getting worse. Because let's not compare "Snow White" from 1937 and this beautiful performance to the current Disney princesses. The voice was perfect, crystal clear. Currently, it's just a pop version of these achievements.

@@talia6442 Ah yes, The Voices of Liberty! VoL is so incredibly talented, and it was so fun to see many of their members perform in "Harmonious". Among the Voctave members, Kate, Drew, Aaron, and Karl still sing with VoL full time, while Ashley, Sarah, and EJ are occasional subs. The non-Voctave members of VoL are so talented as well! 🙂
