This was my first time ever at an MX track. The berms were slick and rutted out so my bike was sliding a ton. If you guys got tips for riding track, pls lmk. I wanna get back out there and try the back track which is more sandy.

Good job man. We all start somewhere . Your not being a fake like most of the guys that have no ball to attempt this. Throw that baby in 2nd gear and stand on the the balls of your feet the whole time . Keep that throttle on steady every time you hit those table tops. You will be fine. It’s all seat time 💪🏁

You will be just fine…….this is how EVERY PERSON that races or rides first time on track is. I’m glad to see your not afraid to post your experience. Hopefully other new people learning to ride will watch this video and read the comments, to realize there was a first for all of us. Just stick with it, ask questions and don’t care what haters say. It’s all about seat time. Be confident but respect what is that your riding. Great Job 🤘🏻

This is awesome. It brings me back to my first time on a track about 5 years ago. This looks like it was fresh early morning, so they're usually slick. I like being the 1st to the track, and about the 10th one on it. Seat time bro. Seat time. You'll be tearing it up in no time.

awesome man! keep at it! but hold your line, there were a few times i saw you kinda go from one side to the middle or even the other side of the track, i could tell it was from the loose dirt and you not being comfortable in it, but try shifting up a gear and stay light on the front wheel, and especially dont switch lines/sides of track on a jump, the general rule is "roll right" meaning stick to the right side if you're going to roll it, but if youre already on the left or middle just hold that line, if someone faster is coming up, they expect you to hold your line and if you change up suddenly there could be a collision

I'd just like to point out a few things #1- I noticed that when you used the clutch you used all 4 fingers, you want to cover the clutch with 1 to 2 fingers when starting, you also dont need to use the clutch that much in the corners, as long as the bike is moving at a decent speed you dont need to use the clutch. #2-When youre cornering make sure you lean the bike over pretty good, it may be a little intemadating at first but once you get used to it its fairly easy and can make youre cornering speed so much better. #3- Stand up more! it may seem easier to sit down but standing up make the track smoother and you last longer, sitting down makes all the bumps work into the body and cause you to wear out faster, pro's stand 90% of the time, most only sitting in the corners, make sure you learn proper positioning first! @AJCatanzaro does a great job on explaining this kind of stuff. #4- The most intemadating of all, comitment, stuff like sliding around , jumping, even cornering takes some ball to do, once you overcome the fears of falling of doing something stupid, you can jump over the wall that many people struggle with, just commiting to something

I haven’t been riding very long at all myself. We all start somewhere. I’ve been doing harescrambles (I have a Video on my page and I ride conservatively too). Like a couple other people have mentioned in the comments, throttle is typically your friend. It will help you power through those slicker spots (good, new rubber also helps). And once you take a couple sight laps you’ll be clearing those table tops in no time (keep a neutral position and steady throttle)

keep at It! it is always a bit tricky to go out ona a fresh ripped track. but first thing I noticed was you need to shim your valves. Your bike should kick over after the 2nd to 3rd kick cold. on riding body position is key. stand up on your toes and get your head over the bars. you control the bike don't let it ride you. cheers

Just keep on riding, and hold your line, you'll be fine. Just a little tip, when I was riding MX I'd always spray a light coat of wd40 under the fenders and the bottom of the skid plate, didn't on the engine or exhaust. It would help letting the mud fall off instead of sticking. Granted it wasn't perfect and wasn't necessary all the time just when the track was a bit muddy. It helped with clean up and having a lot of mud in the truck. I'm sure there are other things people used, I've even heard of people using PAM cooking spray, probably smelled great if you got the butter flavor.... good luck and keep riding......

I know this sounds counterintuitive, but the faster you go, the easier it is to control the bike. I obviously you reach the “sweet spot” on your speed and not just go balls to the wall. The momentum you create will help get you to dig in around the corners. You gotta start somewhere and much respect for getting her out there.

1.your bike doesn't sound right(might be timing chain) 2. Shift with the clutch. The clutch will wear a lot faster if you don't 3. Stand more 4. Are you getting arm pump often? Your levers look a bit high Best of luck!

One important thing if ur going slow racing rule is stay to the inside leave the outside of the turn fir the fast guys to get around u and when u exit the track an ur are riding slow on the inside practice exiting the track on the slow side thats the inside this way u wouldnt cross in front of a real fast rider railing around the outside or sailing over a jump at pro speed...if there is a lot of pros out there dont be embarrassed to pull over an watch them si u can learn...an be out of their way..but always try to exit the inside...heres why when riders take the inside line they are useally on the brakes more so fast riders are already thinking about the outside because thats where they pull off the track...an the inside line is slower so if they come up behind u fast they are gonna go outside to be polite if they want to be a jerk they will go inside u but most riders will be nice an go around the outside...in a race its different they will pass u any where there is room...so dont let it bother u...never look back always look 50 to 100 feet infront of u the faster u go the more important that is...never look at the ground next to ur frint tire because thats where u end up...it messes with ur balance head up always

Try staying in your lane, that comes off as harsh. But when you're sliding around and your front tire wants to go down on you it's because you're cross rutting. Find a lane that has a small rut already made and follow it. Try and stay in it the best you can. Keeps you front zig zagging around the track.

The mud is on the track because they put water there so the dust does get real bad an blind ur riding vision u dont want to riding a totally dry track because the dust will be so bad u wouldnt be able to see its dangerous so just take it easy evrrytime u first go out...everytrack does it an the more riders the more water they will have to use..its kind of a little scary but its normal u just gotta keep the bars straight an use rear brake pedal drag till the water works in that is what the pros do so be patient...not many riders..today....

I have some advice for you look far hold the motorcycle with your legs elbows high your fingers on the clutch and front brake buttons when you enter the left bend the right elbow high and the leg presses the right footrest when you enter the right bend the left elbow high and the left leg presses the lift when you extend your leg must she clings to the motorcycle, if you have to stick out your leg, then just do not stick it on the jump with the same throttle when you add it, it will tilt the bike back when you take it, they bent it forward when you press the brake you must ean back a little, I didn't say everything here, but only a part, so if you want to ride better, I recommend training with a trainer and when you you add gas then lean forward

Step one put a little race gas in with ur 93 pump gas...if the gas sit for a week drain it an put it in ur truck keep fresh 93...they make 93 unleaded race gas...mix a half gallon with 2 gallons of 93 pump gas u bije will like...stand a little head over gas cap..try to sit in the corners if they arent real ruf...grip the bike gently with knees...when u go into a left hand turn keep weight on the right outside footpeg an lean an push the bike with ur right knee weighting the foot peg to help the ftont an rear tire plant on the ground...upper bidy forward...eyes look 50 feet ahead or more..use ur ears to hear if riders are coming up behind u..if ur slow try to stay to the inside be smooth with lines as faster riders will be able to get around u dont ever change ur line near a jump over a jump or near the landing in case some one is in the air...practice riding standing up knees bent slighty...if thats not comfortable yet keep a little pressure in ur legs so a kicker bump doesnt send u flying if u hit one by surprise...the big tip is dont change ur lines...for now dont try till look behind u hand in the air if ur gonna pull over or off the track..in Road raving we use a afoot..mx use ur hand clutch probably grip bike with knee in to the tank...just breathe regular keep an eye on holding ur breath when people get nervous they hold their breath...one pro tip is use a little rea brake when it gets rough..try to use the rear brake in between big brake bumps before turns...also get a jump rope or do some jumping jacks before start ruding..or ride ur mountain bike for 5 minutes before ur mitorcycle its important ti warm up..in case u fall u woundnt rip muscles as bad or at all if u warm up...jumping rope is the best just 5 minutes..get the one the boxers use..it heavy...jump rope is good because MX is most legs u turn the bike with ur legs once ur timing get better..if u stay to the inside while ur riding slow its not as bumpy the fast guys are gonna rip up the track more in the main line an to the outside exit of turns faster lines will be more used an rougher...big thing is practice staying at a steady speed an be smooth as u move from one line to another.keep ur right foot on the rear brake u can drag it a little an that will keep rear suspension from bouncing an getting out if control..use ur legs to suck up small bump.....try an ride the smooth lines till u get more confortable with bike moving an bouncing around relax ur arms an hands hold msinly with legs...be smooth slowly work on going faster...if u got time video a real good riders an watch thei body position an try to copy what u see..u getthe why part later...first day dont try to or worry about jumping stuff...thats later...normal riding position should be a little crouch head forward near the handle bars..its called the attack position...ur legs ready to abzorb bumps....grip with knees....have funif u take video of good or pro riders u can really learn body position by seeing in slow motion....how they are on tje bike....pracice standing if u can....have fun.....
