I worked at the Original "SIX FLAGS OVER TEXAS' here in the Dallas area from 1978-1981 as a teenager, and it was a blast watching Yoel's expressions. It brings back memories of how much I enjoyed those four years, and all the FREE rides I got to enjoy as an employee ! I would REALLY like to go to "SIX FLAGS OVER CUBA" one day, that would be AWESOME !!!!!!

AWESOME! So cool to see how someone reacts to something so many take for granted. Yes it is true, in America we do have so many things to share and to give. It makes my heart smile to see even the momentary happiness of escaping for a while to laugh and enjoy, to be free. Some day my friend, some day it will change. When I got out of high school I walked to the interstate with a bag over my shoulder and got a ride on a path to my future with $30 in my pocket. If someone like me, a poor kid in the middle of no where can do it, anyone can do it. My sisters and I were lucky, we had a mother who raised us to be good humans and work for what we wanted. She said if we do that, the world is ours and no one can take it from us. I know she was right. In America dreams can be made if you put everything into it. I hope you have that opportunity Yoel. Your videos always touch my heart and really make me appreciate all I have. I have a 6 room apartment all to myself and it is huge and it is considered a lower class "cheap" apartment here where I live in USA. In Cuba it would be considered a "rich" apartment. I am so thankful to God for all I have. We are really privileged to live in the USA. I am a pianist and am wondering if I was born in a different Country if I would have been ever able to pursue my dreams on the piano. I thank Jesus for all I have. I like to show my son and then show him some about Cuba and other countries so he can understand how blessed we are to live here. I love this so much, I worked with a family of Cuban Immigrants for 2-3 years, and I can honestly say the were some of the most beautiful, genuine, and amazing people. I still think about them all the time and the example they set by being so beautiful and kind while having overcome so much.

Yes Viva Capitalism! So many Americans think Socialism is better. If they were forced to live in a Socialist country for a year, they would be begging to come back the the USA!

He needs to go to amusement parks in other countries in Latin America. This exists everywhere else it is not exclusive of US. Not all countries in Latin America are Cuba. Same with restaurants and malls. Not all countries have been under communist regimes for 60 years. Nicaragua and Venezuela excluded.

Looks like you guys were at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California! I've been there several times. What gave it away were the California license plates on the cars that were at the entrance and I did recognize the iconic observation tower.

I live eighty seven miles from Cuba. I have everything and they have nothing. And this is by no fault of the people. I'm not a proponent of conquest but I've always been in favor of annexing Cuba. Technically it wouldn't be true annexation, as it would be welcomed by the population. It's hard to believe in 2022, we allow our close neighbors to suffer needlessly.

Thanks for sharing his experiences. Here's an idea: Take him to the Haulover Inlet to see the big boats go out to sea.

I have a nephew who is Cuban - American. My brother was in Cuba while he was in the Navy. He married a woman over there and knocked her up. He brought her back to the USA where his son was born. Less than 2 years later they were divorced. All she was looking for was a free trip to the USA.

It’s good to see the fun you guys had and while I’m sure your family would like to be doing the same thing, I think they would be happy seeing you enjoy yourself. They will go on the roller coaster and merry go round through your rides in them. Thank you for reminding me of the blessings I have because my mom was brave enough to leave Puerto Rico and come to the U.S. It was back when the were still called the West Indies! Thanks mom! My first trip to Disney world in fla. Was right after the mass exodus from Cuba. What I remember being impressed by was that the Cuban women all had high heels and loads of jewelry but I didn't see one complaining their feet hurt. MI e did just looking at their scrappy high heel sandles...

So much fun to see Joel experience many of the things that Americans take for granted. An added bonus for me is that these videos help me to practice my understanding of Spanish. I'm getting better - but Joel speaks so fast!

@YoelAndMari My daughter use to work the rides at Six Flags. Whichever ride they operate they were required to ride. She use to love that job. But I want to tell you two, carry no shame. The shame belongs to the leaders that imprison people’s lives for their gain. They steal what doesn’t belong to them. Honor your families by experiencing every bit of what freedom has to offer. They loose nothing by what you experience. Live free, otherwise those leaders still imprison you. Don’t give them that victory. And of course your going to still have the feelings when you reflect on their situation. Just in the midst of that reflection put the responsibility where it belongs.

This video started something interesting for us. I think RU-vid suggested it because I love roller coasters but we loved watching the two of you so much we explored your other videos. And my kids are hitting an age where I think it's important they learn that no, their Berkeley friends don't understand what communism is like I've had enough friends who escaped former Soviet states none of your videos was surprising to me (unfortunately) but it was a very nice way for them to learn it without it being some heavy handed lecture. Very inspirational to patriotic Americans to see these videos. unfortunately, it really goes straight to politics as to why we need to understand what we have and how easily we can loose it. Also, why we need to help other countries like Cuba to get back their freedom and rights. I love to see the humility and love you have for your families in Cuba. The administration we have in place and many of the leaders in place right now would love for America to be in the state that Cuba is in right now. It would give these people complete and total power over us. as a people, we should open our eyes and make sure this never happens here and stop it from happening elsewhere!

I have news for you, there are millions of Americans that have never been to one of those parks, or Disneyland, or been able to afford to do the things you are doing.

In Communism, there's just no incentive to innovate, provide variety, or have a quality product or experience. The government is the only game in town so they just throw a bone to the people when it comes to amusement parks and it's pathetic. Doesn't surprise me in the least that it doesn't even compare to American amusement parks.

When I graduated, I want to Six Flags and it was so much fun and I still go and I don’t want to go, home.
