That’s how a lot of Microsoft store apps are made, if you get SoundCloud, and delete Microsoft edge, SoundCloud won’t run and say the web view runtimes are missing. You also have the whole webbrowser right click menu. Such a shameful port…
@@cybalin If it's anything like GeForce Experience, I'm going to cry. GFE is the biggest piece of dogshit Nvidia has ever produced (other than the 3050)
@@rattlesss5148and it is perfect to me haha. If it works it works. Logitech made the same mistake by replacing their old (but very functional) gaming software with GHUB and it freaking sucks.
@@whatsonmymindsuicideit doesn’t even let you turn off the goddamn automatic profile switching, if you want to do that you need to completely redo your other profiles when you want to use them, and the it doesn’t even switch properly between apps or let you configure a profile without switching you to another. it is dogcrap for people who try to work and game
Razer Synapse on its way to randomly decide that it feels like using 20% of my CPU to do absolutely nothing until I reinstall it and it feels like never recognizing my peripherals again no matter what I do:
People without RGB: There's a starman waiting in the sky He'd like to come and meet us But he thinks he'd blow our minds There's a starman waiting in the sky He's told us not to blow it 'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
The most frustrating part isn't that they are all terrible, but most of them completely change every 6-12 months and you have to relearn where where the setting you actually want is, or if it even still exists.
For what it's worth, the Logitech Gaming Software is simple, light-weight, and doesn't even need to run in the background if your mouse has on-board memory. Too bad it doesn't recognize newer models. (If you can use it though, disable its Registry service.)
I use mostly steelseries peripherals, and their software is amazing. Not only can i customize almost everything about my steelseries stuff, but I also get Sonar, Moments, and 3DAT as well. And their ui looks clean. I have a redragon keyboard, but it has plenty of customization with built in rgb modes and I don't have to use its software.
Sonar is shit, it maps the volume control to only control the "game" volume not the master volume, because who wants to control the volume of things like music and zoom. If you remove your Steel series audio device it automatically switches to something else but never switches back to the Steel series device like it's supposed to when it's reconnected. The idea is great, but there're annoying details that either just don't work or they made brain dead stupid decisions about.
@evilhamsterman My spotify is on my browser, which I map to the media section. Discord and Zoom are in the chat section. Games in the game section. Everything works just fine for me. Just click and drag on the program's bubble when its playing audio to whatever slider you want. Idk what you are on about. I've had little to no issues with sonar. I configured it to how I like it and it works perfectly fine. Only had one issue in cs2, where I got confused which site the c4 was at on nuke but that was because I heard the pitch wrong, so that was a me issue.
Remember that if you only need basic control, you can use software like openRGB or SignalRGB, which use the universal ARGB control system and therefore are compatible with all ARGB fans
That’s why the only rgb in my pc is my powercolor hellhound 7800 xt which just uses a physical switch between purple, light blue, or just off. Simple and I really like it. I have it vertically mounted in my h6 flow and every single other component is just matte black. Which has a bonus of sometimes being cheaper than the rgb counterpart.
Icue is the bane of my existence. It would randomly decide to stop working and when trying to start it back up, it just won't and have to reinstall it. Reinstalling doesn't work and you have to force delete the folder to get it to uninstall. Redownload the installer, turns out the only option that works is the uninstaller but is essentially the install. Now that everything is actually removed, I can finally reinstall it. Yes, I just went through this wall of yapping recently.
Now it is probably one of the best but it really sucked a few years ago. I'm glad they improved it because ROG products use it and they're probably the most expensive products you can buy
nah I try to use it to control the RGB and Matrix on my mobo and it doesn't last any longer than 3 days before it freezes Windows for 2 mins then resets the RGB to default whilst no longer being able to recognize my mobo until I reinstall it.
@keegie_creeper146 you have to update the motherboard in your app it happens to me too. The rgb barely lasts 3 days until defaulting to gay rgb rainbow
@@shawarma3066 for me, it doesn't work that way. Armory crate refuses to see my board in general, and therefore there is no way to update the motherboard through the app
Hey Zach I just built an oem pc build that I upgraded woth an rx 560 But the HDD failed on me and I lost my windows and stuff But being the greatest 15 yo technician that's ever lived I dismembered my old laptop for its hdd and added it to the new build One yt tutorial later I had a working pc
I actually don't have any problems with steel series until now, the only thing which happens from time to time is that the recording feature doesn't pick up any sound but anything with the steel series engine works perfect for me
Yeah, I'm suffering through this problem right now. I have too many RGB devices from different manufacturers. It takes a bit of work to change the color. Ive tried everything I can think of, OpenRGB, Signal RGB, ICue, Mystic Light, then I need Galax software to change the RGB on the 4070. I was really hoping Windows 11 Dynamic Lighting would work, but I clearly put too much faith in that.

Honestly, pc part manufacturers should all. Just standardize under icue, I know it's not the most stable, but it is the most capable, it allows for so much that others just don't. I buy corsair keyboard and mouse for the range of customization options I get (not just RGB)
I love that I can sync my fan color to my CPU/GPU temps with Corsair icue. Works well with other RGB systems. But it occasionally switches around to other color profiles to other saved ones.
VIDEO IDEA!!! Make a vid on the absolute most budget cpu and most expensive cpu that can pair with different gpus without major bottleneck i think this would be very helpful
I am glad I got no RGB for my first build I love how clean it looks and not dealing with software is a plus (I would’ve gotten RGB cause I do like it but my eyes can hurt very easily from bright light so couldn’t)
Rgb fusion is actually the only software I’ve ever used for rgb. The whole reason why I’m not researching my fans to a point I can find a working software
For all companies: please make the default setting RGB OFF. This should at least prevent having a multicolor scheme that looks like trash. Maybe they should all pay a small amount to an independent SW company to do a global SW as they can not get along. A sort of mediator at the same time.
Msi's is ok, except if you want to display a certain color you should just look it up, you are not gonna get it through the color circle. And sometimes it overwrites your settings. 🙃
It’s even better when you mention razer synapse 3. If anyone runs razer, which yk god bless, I do too I understand your pain and trials, there’s literal games that won’t launch because you have razer products connected to your PC. If that’s not the peak gaming peripherals software failure idk what is.
The problem for me with NZXT cam was the performance loss in the 1% FPS. Lost around 80% of FPS there which then led me to use gigabytes Fusion. I really liked NZXT cam but this was a killer argument.
That's why I'm RGB less. RGB light causes distraction while gaming, less bloatware when going in windows. Also, use less power consumption in the long run.
hello there Mister Zach i would be most grateful if you took a peek at this ultra-budget PC that I have put together and if you would have anything that you would change about it
Honestly wish there was a HyperX mouse I found as comfortable as the DeathAdder, because HyperX peripherals all come with onboard memory for saving RGB settings. I've got a Quadcast S and an Alloy Elite 2, and they honestly rule for that (they're also just pretty damn good peripherals). Set the RGB once and then never use the software again.
use open rgb software it have support of all rgb software in one when you get damage in game lights will blink to red this feature is also in open rgb software
Gigabyte RGB Fusion is known for killing DDR3 and older RAM. It overwrites bits in the firmware that are responsible for proper recognition of SPD profile.
I love my combination of Razer synapse, gigabyte shitty thingy, iCue, random something from unknown brand and palit gpu software (its just white but with different brightness)
Use signal rgb. It can control all of those different companies rgb without having all the different apps. Just make sure no other apps are trying to control the rgb at the same time.
I have Thermaltake, Gigabyte, Asus, and several Random ARGB types in my main rig, along with Steel Series Keyboard, Logitech gaming mouse, and Razer Leviathan USB powered speaker. I use SignalRGB and it easily controls them all. I love it!
This is why i don't use RGB lighting as decorations in my PC anymore (rugged industrial theme it is), it makes me to do more maintanance than me actually using the Computer itself.
Since I don't have many inpressive peripherals needing software, I don't get it. BUT, for RGB, I cheated. I downloaded ASUS AURA/Armory Crate, changed the settings to my desired RGB profile, and UNINSTALLED the software because my physical RGB will remain the same even after so (yes even after reboots). I'm guessing this is due to some kind of on-board memory somewhere that saves the RGB profile for implementation. Two downsides to this option though: 1. You obviously can't use the software to change the RGB since you won't be keeping it. So if you only are dead-set on an RGB profile that you know you won't change, try this! 2. This only seems to work for LEDs either on the motherboard itself, or connected via RGB controllers. Other devices such as Graphics card and Memory modules will be set to their default RGB profiles when the software is erradicated.
Msi mystic light is imo one of the best, during almost A year i had literally no issues with it(i have rgb ram, case fans, aio fans and gpu all controlled by mystic light)
Ryzen user here, some issues with keyboard settings, such as not saving a profile to use while running an application so I can match my keyboard to that application, I decided to grab the one profile and just click and open the application every 60 days.
This is why you buy no RGB parts and just buy RGB LEDs for your lighting effects for a much easier time, you control it all because it’s all the same and there’s no thinking about interactions
Signal rgb works very well for me. I have 4 different brands of rgb but they all work well with signal. I just wish companies would allow you to turn off their lighting so i could still use them for monitoring
