FIRST TIME REACTING TO AURORA - Runaway || UK REACTION 

I saw an interview with Billie Eilish in where she said this very video (Aurora - Runaway) was her inspiration to become a singer/songwriter (she came over it in a time where she hadn't yet decided what to do with her life).

I discovered Aurora back in June and this video was my first experience. It had a profound effect on me and it's still my favourite.

She is amazing. She performs awesome covers and she can sing her originals with a full band, acoustic, or accapella. She also performs different arrangements of the same song. I got a chance to see her live and it was amazing. Going to see her again in 2022.

It doesn't matter what Aurora song you listen to next. She doesn't have ANY bad songs. The lyrics to this song are so beautiful and insighteful, not bad considering she wrote this song when she was 11.

This is the song, that went viral on tiktok and Instagram, she was 18-19 during that time! She's inspired Billie Eilish when she was 12, and something clicked!

In my opinion Aurora is one of the few singers that actually sound better singing live rather than recorded... I swear, her performance is so organic and she makes it seem so effortlessly... she's amazing live. You should check more of those Aurora videos 💜

Very good reaction. She is very creative and unique artist. She learnt to sing and play piano by herself. She started to make music from 6 year old and make lyrics from 9 years ago (she made f.e. Lucky when she was 9). She has a ton o great songs/performance. I would recommend All Is Soft inside live from KEXP 2018. And about covers. She has some great ones (she is like Midas, everything she change into gold :) ) . As a sample check f.e. Teardrop live in "Like w Version"

The video was actually filmed in the forest where she grew up. She often got lost and was taught how to find home using the stars as a guide. Parents also installed a bell to call her home.

2 covers that come to mind are Rasputin and Life on Mars. Both great songs and she makes them her own in Aurora fashion!

What makes Aurora stand out from others is her ability to write masterpieces again and again and again! 330 mill on YT and 402 mill on Spotify with a song written when she was 11 yo , tells the lot. Almost the whole video was shot in her parents garden , 40km south og Bergen ,Norway. The fjord which you can see in the video is called Lysefjorden ( The fjord of light)

Just FYI, Aurora wrote her first songs at the age of 6. One of my favorite songs is 'It Happened Quiet', but that is just one. What with Angelina Jordan and Aurora being so talented, Norway is gifting the world quite nicely! Ha. Being that both Aurora and Angelina are so unique, I would be surprised if the real name of the country wasn't, 'Yourway'. 👍😀

Fun facts about the Runaway Music Video: It was shot late autumn 2014 and winter 2014/2015. She was 18 at this time. She wrote Runaway at the age of 11-12 and finalized it at the age of 14. The parts, where she wears the furry top are shot at the west coast of the Drange peninsula, less than a mile away from her parents house. The parts in the forest were shot in the same forest where she played as a kid, less than half a mile away from her parents house. The parts, in which she wears a thin white cardigan and with some trees in the near background and the island of Lysøya in the background, are shot actually in the backyard of her parents house in Drange.

As a matter of fact, this was shot in the woods REALLY close to where Aurora grew up, close to Bergen on the west coast of Norway. Someone mentioned Billie Eilish in the comments to that video. My fav covers are God is a Woman (she and her band were given an hour to prepare it) and Tear Drop (Massive Attack). Originals I would recommend are: Warrior Through the Eyes of a Child It Happened Quiet (live at The Current) And for a change of pace: The Seed -which is her anthem to Mother Nature. The scenery is Norway, forest behind her home, and the where she explored when she was very young. As to her popularity, she has managed something some artists try hard to do. She has crossed racial carriers as all nationalities listen to her. As to her popularity, she had 3 sold-out concerts in the US (NY, and CA). Next year she has 10 concerts in the US and they’re already selling out. Covers- David Bowie “Is There Life on Mars Leonard Cohen -”Blue Raincoat” Massive Attack John Lennon Imagine Dragons And there are others. But don’t expect a blase repetition. Her covers are completely unique. Life on Mars will blow your mind and Bowie would have loved it.

Aurora is amazing. I suggest to check out “All is Soft Inside” live at KEXP for a more update performance from her and her band. But everything she does is gold and worth a listen. There are many great covers like “Life On Mars” and “Across The Universe”.
