Chris Stapleton and a few others came at a time that country music fans needed cause it was turning into pop music. I love old Luke Bryan but he is my prime of example of “hey what a…what direction you heading here Luke.” I speak for me and my states only country station here in Connecticut. I wish I can shake this man’s hand.

Someone else suggested Fire Away and I absolutely agree, but you need to do the official music video, which highlights the message of mental health awareness. That's his only song I'd recommend the video over a live version. Tissues nearby for that one! You said you wouldn't be surprised if he started rapping ... there's an interview where he talks about Snoop Dogg being one of his influences, because his music was so real. His influences are so widely varied! I've seen him in concert once and I saw his tour dates for 2023 posted and he's coming back through my area, so I'm doing a happy dance while I wait for the tix to go on sale next week!

check out his early songs. there are 3 vidios form a song writer's cruise that he went on when he was about 25 . those songs are fnatastic. gret a base line for his talent and it just does up from there. also his wife that sings with him does " you are my sunshine" it's not the version from your childhood that's for sure.

He paid $300 when he bought that guitar. He had to pick mud out of the body and reneck it. It's a 65 year old Gibson LG-2. It's been his primary song writing guitar for years. He wrote this song after a childhood friend lost his battle to cancer. Good people gone way to soon.

If you want to see another side to Chris….search for the Jompson Brothers… The River Live. It’s a younger Chris between his Bluegrass and Country phases. The man can literally sing and play anything. This is a great Southern Rock performance. Just another example of how he can play anything with soul and heart in it.

Absolutely nothing like listening to a singer and a guitar; will prove their talent real quick. The only reason Chris is before the cameras and on stage is his wife Morgan; she "encouraged" Chris to show his talent to the world, people already knw he could write songs and play. You should react to Meat Loaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Light, it's fun and theatrical. Just remember that the first line is "I remember every little thing as if it happened only yesterday." The song is being sung 15 or 20 years after the events described. I mention this because most first time listeners miss that little detail and then the end doesn't make sense to them.

Chris Stapleton is recognized as an incredibly gifted singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer… but it his qualities as a person that elevate him even more. As a songwriter, Chris Stapleton has received 13 ASCAP awards, 7 of them before his breakout Traveler Album in 2015. Check out his 2014 performance of “If It Hadn't Been For Love” as Chris sits with fellow songwriters at the Sundance ASCAP Music Café and casually mentions Adele’s cover of his song.
