The big Korean music scenes atm are kpop and khiphop/krnb and kballad, but there’s also k-indie, k-rock, etc. Most international fans group all of them into the overarching umbrella of kpop but just like how american music isn’t all Pop music Korea has all the genres and at times they over lap like in America too. Jay park is considered one of the pillar artists in khiphop at the moment and he’s originally from Seattle Washington so he’s Korean american. But yeah he’s the CEO of two of the biggest hiphop labels in Korea: AOMG and H1ghr music and he recently signed to Jay-Zs music label to start promoting fr in America :)). In 2008, Jay Park debuted with the kpop group, 2pm. However, he left the group after their one year anniversary. He was involved in a controversy that forced him to leave 2pm and go on hiatus before coming back and joining another company.
