I proudly say that EXO, Red Velvet and NCT are in the same label SM Entertainment haha. IM SO EXCITED ever since you’ve been checking out other groups with 9 people and being shocked by how many members there are ive been waiting for u to check out NCT!! however nct 127 is just a subunit of NCT so there are only 10 members, the whole NCT has 21 members! usually the first two members that people notice are the two rappers, mark and taeyong (they were the two people you noticed too). mark is canadian and very popular as he is in three of the four NCT subunits. taeyong (the white hair rapper im kick it) is the leader and also incredible stage presence so he tends to catch attention. the other subunits are NCT U (the members change with each song), NCT DREAM (the youngest members of NCT), and WayV (the chinese unit).

“Crew fly Dubai” is Mark. He’s in NCT units of 127, U, 2018 and Dream (leader) plus SuperM. Dream was originally a group for “children” and had a graduation system where the members would graduate and leave after they become adults. However, fans put up a major fight when 4 more members would have left at the end of 2020 so the graduation system is eliminated and Mark will be reunited with NCT Dream for the comeback after Ridin’. So, there are a total of 21 members in NCT and it can tend to be pretty overwhelming. However, the group is split up into 4 sub-units to make things (a little) easier. - NCT 127 (the most popular unit) - NCT U (a rotational unit that switches out members) - NCT Dream (the members under 20 years old, aka the babies of the group) - WayV (all the Chinese members) Also, all the members came together in 2018 to form “NCT 2018”, in which they made an album consisting of some songs from each unit. With this they released a performance video that all 18 members participated in. (This was before WayV so there was only 18 members at the time) The performance video is pretty cool and I’d check it out, it’s called “Black on Black”.

Now that you have heard the English version of "Regular," you should also check out the Korean version and the Mandarin version. And once you have done that you should then look up the lyrics. If you look up the lyrics for the Korean and Mandarin versions and compare them to the English version you will see that even though it's the same beat and the same title, the lyrics are different for all 3 songs. (They also have performed a Japanese version in concert or on a program or something that I watched -- I can't remember exactly where I heard it) If you look up the lyrics for the Korean version you will discover that the lyrics for the English version of "Regular" is almost opposite of what they are talking about in the Korean version. That's why the album is called Regular Irregular. The English version is what I would describe as the cocky version of the song and it hits on the aesthetic of what appeals more to an American audience. The English version talks about being famous and having lots of money and still not being satisfied until they possess all the riches and fame. "Regular" is supposed to be NCT-127's U.S. debut so that is why they made an English version. However, the Korean version is what I would call the humble version of the song. The Korean lyrics talk about how they are constantly working hard and are never satisfied with the end result and how they hope to have the success that they always dream of, etc. -- which is what appeals more to a Korean audience. The Chinese version of the song also has different lyrics. The MV for WayV's version of "Regular" is about dominating in the technology realm and that is why you see them as stock traders in the stock market and at one point they are literally inside a computer, etc. It's all about dominating in the business world. WayV is NCT's Mandarin Chinese sub-unit and "Regular" was technically WayV's debut song as well. Fun fact: Something cool about "Regular" is that WinWin, who is a Chinese member of the group, is actually in all 3 versions of "Regular" because he is a member of NCT-127 and WayV. You should really take the time to see what makes the 3 versions so different, besides the fact that they are in 3 different languages. :D It's really interesting to see how 3 songs can be created in 3 different languages using the same beat and feel, and yet have completely different messages. Nct have a concept with unlimited members, they debuted with 18 members, 3 new members got added last year so they're 21 right now. They have 4 subunits right now: *Nct127* They're a fixed group with normally 10 members (one of them is promoting with another subunit rn so they're 9 rn) *Nct U* they're a rotational group, the members in MV/songs change based on who the company thinks fits the vibe the best. *Nct Dream* They are the youngest members of nct, they had a concept of when they turn 20 they graduate from the group, but recently it got announced that they're a fixed unit too! *Wayv* They're their chinese subunit, they don't have Nct in the name and can't promote with them at all because Korea and China aren't really in good terms (they're still apart of Nct), they have 6 members that are all from Chinese descent (with various nationalities tho) Funfact: Nct have more international members than korean ones! Here is some information about how NCT works.I hope this might make it a little easier to understand. NCT is different than any other Kpop group in the industry. NCT (which stands for Neo Culture Technology) currently has 21 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units. The way NCT works is it''s a group with an infinite number of members. (There are an unknown number of trainees who are still waiting to debut who could potentially become members of NCT.) As SM Entertainment's male trainees graduate from the training program and SM decides they are ready to debut, they become a member of NCT and they debut as part of one of NCT's sub-units. NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With an infinite number of members and a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL The first unit to debut was NCT-U which began April 2016. NCT-U is made up of pretty much all the same members who are in NCT-127, plus they add and subtract other members from the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs can have anywhere from all the members or only 1 or 2 members. The U stands for United, but I also like to think of it as Universal because of the way the group never has a fixed number of members. The second sub-unit is NCT-127 which began July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 9 or 10 members, however members can be added or removed from the group depending on the current concept for the song. etc. This group's members don't change quite as much as the other groups. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world. So its 127's job to represent Seoul around the world. (There are 9 members in "Kick It." -- Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Doyoung, Yuta, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, Haechan -- and WinWin is part of the group in "Regular,""Simon Says" and "Cherry Bomb" to make it 10 members.) NCT-Dream is NCT's third sub-unit, which began in August 2016, and, it is made up of all the youngest members of the group. The way NCT-Dream originally was designed to work was that the members were part of the group until they turn 19 and become an adult. SM's original plan was that when the members turned 19 they were supposed to graduate from the group and they are no longer considered a member of NCT-Dream. Mark (who is also a member of NCT-U, NCT-127 -- the only NCT member to debut as part of all of NCT's first 3 sub-units -- and SuperM) "graduated" from NCT-Dream in 2018, and Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin and RenJun, who are all 19, we thought would be graduating soon. (Which would have left NCT-Dream with only 2 members, with the idea that new trainees would probably debut later this year and become members of NCT-Dream.) However, SM recently announced that they have decided to make NCT-Dream a permanent group and suspend the whole " graduation" concept, including putting Mark back in the group. But this doesn't mean new members won't still be added to the group if SM decides a new trainee would fit well in the group, etc. The fourth sub-unit is WayV which just debuted at the beginning of 2019. They are NCT's Chinese sub-unit who produces songs in Mandarin and promotes in China. There are currently 7 members in this sub-unit. All the members of WayV have Chinese heritage, but like Ten who is Thai, they aren't all native Chinese. The reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name is because of the current conflict between the Korean and Chinese government and how China is not allowing anyone associated directly with a Korean company to do business in its country. Because of this conflict SM had to find/create a Chinese company -- Label V -- that was willing to represent NCTs Chinese sub-unit, but would also allow SM to have control over the group's concept and activities. Most of the members of WayV were originally members of NCT-U + 3 new members who debuted specifically with WayV because they were Chinese. (Kun, the leader of WayV, debuted as a member of NCT-2018, which was a special project in 2018 with all 18 members of NCT at the time.) NCT was created by SM Entertainment in 2016 and the group is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's goal is to eventually have NCT sub-units in every major city in every country in the world. Some day they hope to, for example, take several Japanese members and create a Japanese sub-unit, or put together members from Thailand and create a Thai sub-unit, etc. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with songs like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, (If you haven't already, you should check out "Shut Up and Dance" with Jason Derulo, Lay from EXO and NCT-127), as well as a U.S. concert tour and promotional tours with the American media, etc. So this year is NCT's 4th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies, so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted. For instance, Mark, Jeno, Jaemin, and Jisung (All NCT-Dream members.) were part of the Disney Channel Korea's Mickey Mouse Club and they starred on a regular weekly variety show on the Disney Channel for a year before debut. Mark was the oldest member at around 15 and Jisung, who is NCT's youngest member, was around 13 at the time. But other members also did other things as part of SMRookies as well. And then there are members such as Lucas who technically debuted in 2018, but we saw him in one of Ten's (another member of NCT-U and WayV) solo songs as a featured extra in 2017.
