In my opinion, Mic Drop is straight hip-hop, Idol is EDM+afrobeat, Boy With Luv is straight pop, and Fake Love is emo trap(?). BTS is genre-less. They’ve done almost everything, but we can always expect something great from them. They’ve actually helped me learn to appreciate other genres because I used to only like rock music (all other genres just seemed to lack a lot of feeling and emotion).

Definitely check out BTS's Cypher series, Agust D "Agust D" and Daeng. These are songs from BTS'S rap line. These are fire.

kpop is extremely different than western music because they have sub groups. you have main rappers, lead rappers, sub-rappers, main vocals, lead vocals, sub-vocals, lead dancers, main dancers, and visuals. this allows them to work well without overlapping and for each member to target their talented areas. but all of them do dance in performances no matter if they are rapping or singing. western music all you have to be is good at lip syncing and somewhat good with autotune but kpop idols train for years and some don't even debut. you must be extremely talented to be able to go this far. many people criticize when kpop idols do lip sync during parts but for the most part they have live vocals and rapping, with the excuse of some parts if the choreography is extensive or laborious. this is proof that kpop is a much more involved and hard industry to be apart of. never disregard the hard work and training an idol puts into their skills.

I'm a new sub, I really enjoyed this reaction and I'm looking forward to more videos from you. 😊 Since you had some questions I thought some information might help you. BTS has indeed 7 members, 3 of them rappers (RM, Suga, J-Hope) and 4 vocalists (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook). The one you liked a lot was RM, he's the leader of the group and actually my bias too (that's what you call your favourite in a KPop group). Also, about their genre. BTS is actually a group that can not be defined by one genre. When they debuted in 2013 they started out as a hip hop group, but over the years they experimented with a lot of different genres to find their own style. This style (in my opinion) is to have no specific genre, but just to produce the music they want to (that's also something you should know; unlike a lot of other K-Pop and western artists, BTS actually writes and produces most of their music themselves). About the production of the videos; the K-Pop industry is very different when it comes to that. The music videos are often highly produced since they and visuals in general are quite important, especially for BTS, because they have a lot of symbolism in them. There are THOUSANDS of theories about the meaning of BTS songs and the symbols in songs and MVs. I'm not even joking, we call it the BTS verse and it has its own storyline and everything. Also, little fun fact: you might think that there is a lot of green screen/ CGI going on in the production, but a lot of their videos are actually shot completely without any of it, for example 'fake love'. I recommend you react to these songs: ON DNA Not today Dope And if you want to check out more hip hop/rap, the rapline (aka the three rappers) actually have a lot of songs with only them together and also released own solo mixtapes, so i would recommend: Ddaeng Ugh! loved the reaction, thanks for no cuts between the songs either we like a raw reaction :) BTS consists of 3 rappers 4 vocalists they all can dance however some specialize more in contemporary or street dance. I recommend you check out BTS ON Manifesto film, there are 2 versions of ON the music video and the one i just suggested (more of a one take focuses on their choreography) might also not have as much views as their other MV's bc there are two versions that came out so it kind of splits in half. As for the music genre, they were first covered as K-pop (korean pop) but proven to display multiple genres in their songs/albums so theres a popular term we use as BTS-pop. :) really liked the reaction i hope you react to more of them because theyre simply 7 humble dudes that came from nothing and display nothing but hard work and talent! Also they are known for writing and producing their own music. And their discography is sooo large

"IDOL" is a crazy music video for a reason. This song has SO many meanings and it is Korean culture heavy! (Which is awesome!) The basic meaning is that they’re confronting their haters and that in the process it doesn’t matter what they say because they love themselves and are authentic to who they are. As for the Korean references, there are many things but one of them is that you can see in the video a graphic of a rabbit on the moon which is a folk-tale in Korean culture that having rabbits on the moon signifies a long and bountiful happy life. Another example is when they go “Mwol eojjeogo jeojjeogo tteodeureodaesyeo” , which sounds like just a bunch of sounds their making but actually its not it means like “BLAH BLAH BLAH! What are you saying even?”, which is taking a jab at their haters. Another one would be when they would “ELSOUUU” or “URSOOO” this is taken from Pansori, a story telling performance made through singing and drums and when ELSOOU is said in Pansori it is for celebration, meaning that BTS is celebrating who they are and where they’re from and that they love themselves.
