FIRST TIME REACTING TO | "KISS ON MY LIST" - Hall & Oates 

The most successful duo in rock history for a reason. Such a great catalog.

They've got sooooo many good songs. "Rich Girl" needs to make an appearance - it's got a level of sassiness that I think really works well for Hall & Oates.

The live versions of these oldies but goodies are fine, but I really wish your first reaction would be to the studio versions that were broadcast on the radio back in the day. I think this is how must of us remember these songs.

I wish she would listen to the studio versions, especially Hall and Oats. Hall really changes up the songs when he is singing live ….. sometimes even the melody is quite different than the original version!

This was a #1 song in 1981, the second off their album Private Eyes, from the same year, including the title track. Truly one of their best releases.

The lead guitarist here is GE Smith, who was the band leader of the SnL band for many years.

Wow, this must be live? It's definitely NOT the studio version. Probably my favorite track of theirs! Really sad that they're feuding so hard.

Out of Touch- Hall and Oates is another big song by them that went to #1 on the billboard charts in 1984. Love for you to react to that classic! Great reaction to KISS O M List!

They harmonize real nice for sure. Oates does for Hall as the News does for Huey. Chilliwack My Girl (Gone Gone) is a great early 80's beauty of a song. Chilliwack has some great vocals too!

I said it before in a different video of yours and I’ll just have to repeat it on over here, you have to do a review of Hall and Oates “One on One” and watch the actual video to it because it has such a crisp studio sound to it and the wordplay on it is perfection. Trust me when I tell ya girl.

I have LOVED Hall & Oates since the beginning ie. 70s & I STILL love them - esp. their 70s & EARLY 80s stuff. JOHN Oates, is not JUST good at back-up, he is GREAT at lead. I bet there was even some upset for Oates that he didn't get to do more leads as everyone was used to deeper toned voices like Oates but Hall's high, clear range was much "fresher" & fascinated people more at the time. I wish there had been more of Oates on lead songs - but then that would be great as there would just have to be more great Hall & Oates songs out there. You can't top Daryl's voice for putting in feeling in a song & his voice is so clean & pleasing even at high notes (whereas when SOME hit the high notes they make me cringe.) I think it is also down to his personality which was bright, innocent (at first - & even about life when he got into the music drugs) & interested in things. He also has GREAT charisma as he does sing with that fun & FEELING way & when he looks at the camera...(& I am not generally that fond of blue-eyed blondes.) John on the other hand supplies the comfort, warmth & sexiness in songs. His personality seems to have been more of the knowledgeable, sit back & observe things kind of way. The 2 together just seem to supply everything. I loved them both.

I've always loved your reactions to Hall & Oates.. and yes they do their own songs. There's one cover though that I think is so full of soul, It's a cover of Gladys Night's Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye). My favorite is the one from Live From Daryl's House. I sat next to Daryl Hall in 97 at Lynnwood Ballroom Lynd Minnesota. He ordered a Roman Coke and John Oats was playing Foos Ball with the band. Only a 600 showed up for the show but it was great. Talent just pours out of Darryl at a live show.

You have to watch the movie “She’s Out Of My League” for some good times. Their music is featured by a band (tribute band) that only plays their music. It’s super fun!

The fact that you can't remember John's name just demonstrates why the duo always complain that the name of their act should not be shortened to Hall & Oates. (It's Daryl Hall and John Oates)

They are great live, but the studio versions are magical.

Darryl Hall (Hall & Oates), Phil Collins (Genesis and Solo) and Sting (The Police) during this late 70s/early 80s....were just incredible song writers in this soft rock, rnb type sound.

Ruffin died from a drug overdose six years after this and Kendricks died seven years later in 1992 from cancer after having one of his lungs removed. So might be the reason for them being skinny.

No, it's really the note in studio version, at 6:40.... it's maybe less perfect than the studio version , but it's not a 'glintch'
