LeAnn sings an acapella version of The Star Spangled Banner which makes one wish that all the local 13 yo girls at ballgames torturing the national anthem would just sit down, and the PA should just play LeAnn's version.

The whole special was fantastic. So young and oh, so talented. I believe this was filmed in Mexico. Could be wrong ,as I watched it about 20 odd years ago. Worth a watch for all.

What makes this song fantastic is the fact that the sinner who wrote the words was repenting for having been a slaver. This rendition is sung with great conviction. After You learned the history of the song, it takes on a weight not felt before.
She did stop performing for quite a while because of the affair controversy. She has since made piece with Brandi and still married to Eddie. She was on Masked Singer a couple years ago and won. Every performance on that show were out of this world. Her version of "When the Party's Over" by Billie Eilish was mesmerizing. She has since released an album that is fantastic. Very few people can let their voice almost crack and bring it right back spot on key....she does it over and over. It is not a voice crack, it is a planned vocal spike....her voice is amazing.
She was in a scandal and that is why regrettably she is under rated. Her voice is one of the Iconic Voices of our time and she is just put as a good singer. Awesome reaction and agree with what you said it is a shame, God Bless!
I hear you, but she has said her mom is a Born Again beliver and they have different views on things. She was raised Southern Baptist - IS spiritual, IS religious. Leann certainly has her roots in country music but when an artist is capable of a performance such as this they are transcendent and it becomes a moment when we can hear one of those voices which comprise the choirs of angels.
We are all human, and it's not if but when, we mess up we can take it to Jesus...because at the cross Jesus paid it all !!! When she was on the masked singer every song brought tears to the eyes of the judges. She did some accapella on some songs and killed it. She said when she won that she couldn't understand why she wanted to be a singer when she was 5. And behind the mask she remembered that it was to give and recieve joy and love.
Both LeAnn and her husband were married to other people when they met. They have been married now for 12 years which is longer than either of their first marriages. They didnt have the best beginning but apparently it works for them.
I believe that all of us country boomers thought that Leann was the second coming of Patsy Cline. For a while, her performances were mesmerizing. As she got to be a little older, her choices in music and life style turned some of us away. No matter her extraordinary talent, we weren’t interested in modern music. I will always remember the early days and occasionally wonder what could have been.
I do like her new work, though. She's matured, grown up, and is working to overcome her emotional challenges caused by her early life of being thrust into the spotlight so young. Every body..... Anytime i am in a mood ! She is one of the few i go to and close the door light some candles , turn out the light and curl up on my favorite stuffed chair and put on choice songs and just weep ! Its so healing for the sole !

Two tracks you should hear: Her live version of The Rose, sung with the Gay Men's Chorus Of LA, part of the It Gets Better campaign to help young gay people deal with their struggles. Before singing, she speaks very emotionally on the topic and then she kills the song dead. "What Have I Done?" where she deals with her tabloid breakup, apologizes to the man she left and lays herself bare to a shocking degree. LeeAnn is a poster child for the perils of stardom at a young age, particularly when your family is a little dubious. There's an interview she did where, in between sobs, she says "I didn't have a childhood."
There have been many artists whom I suspect consider this hymn to be little more than a vehicle to showcase their vocal gymnastics. I didn't get that sense here. In fact, listening to Leann's rendition made me think of the woman who washed Jesus feet with her hair and her tears to the disgust of those present. And yet the Lover of our souls simply said in her defense - "Therefore I tell you, because her many sins have been forgiven, she has loved much. Yes, that is her. Ya know....sometimes we are with the wrong person when our soulmate comes along. She and Eddie Cibrian have been married now for quite a while and they are very happy. Yes, she is still singing and better than ever. PLEASE, PLease, Please watch her performances on The Masked Singer. She won that year!!
She is a remarkable talent. One of the best I've ever heard. Most of the problems she encountered in life were caused by her having to grow up so fast because of her talent. I am sorry she had to experience what it is to be "less than admirable" due to human frailty. All who have never made a mistake should attack without mercy. Personally, I have nothing to say. I love her and wish her nothing but the best!

I would love it if you reacted to her song (must see the video), "Spaceship." It's about 9 months old. It's raw, emotional and came from emotions experienced during the isolation of Covid lockdown. Her husband shot the video alone in 4 takes on his iPhone while they were on a camping trip. It's ... stunning. You feel her crying out to just be taken home. It's incredibly raw and beautiful.
I saw Leann in concert when she was a teenager. She was phenomenal then. I must say that Amazing Grace sounds better with bagpipes in the background. I have not followed Leann Rimes in years, but she did a good job on this song. I am still hoping for you to react to Lucy Thomas. I think you will be amazed by her voice.

Never followed anyone. Thought the internet was just full of junk. Stumbled on you and your husband listening to older music I was listening to and was hooked. Watching your videos regularly. Have recommended you to my grown children and grandchildren. Great to see good people that we as Americans can be proud of. Good job
This one of my all-time favorite songs. I've sang it many times in church and church camps, etc. But I've never heard a better version of this than LeAnn's. I am in tears listening to her and her little yodeling spots. I'm happy that you are hearing her finally because she has a stupendous voice. I saw her in the Hallmark movie where I think she met Eddie Cibrian as her co-star. I'm not sure if they knew esch other before or not -- maybe someone else knows. Anyhoo, at the time, I didn't know the background of either of them. I just knew Eddie as an actor and LeAnn as a singer. But, in that movie (I think the name is Northern Exposure and is set in Alaska), I could feel the electricity between the two of them. They were so hot together. Remember, this was a Hallmark movie where the sex-type behavior is kept to a minimum. I was so struck by it that I remember going to work the next day and talking with a co-worker about it. Remember, there was no internet/RU-vid in those days so it's not like I could just go to a cellphone (which also didn't exist BTW) and look them up like you can now. Anyway, it was just a very short time that I heard that they were together and ending their respective marriages. I was so not surprised. I've never predicted a couples' getting together as accurately than I did with those two. I'm so happy to hear that they are still together. Back years ago, after they were newly married, they had a reality show on cable. I watched a few episodes and they were kinda funny together and sweet but sorta volatile. Don't know how long it was on; I was busy and didn't watch much of that kind of TV. Don't know if any of that is now on the internet anywhere, including the Hallmark movie, but somebody could do some searching. I haven't heard her sing in a while so this was such a treat. The movie was Northern Lights, based on a Nora Roberts novel. It was a 2011 Lifetime movie and I believe it was probably the first time they spent time together. She had been married to a guy named Dean that was a dancer, I believe. Both couples divorced after the affair was exposed. It was exacerbated by Cibrian's ex Brandi Glanville.
I wasn't super familiar with Leeann's discography, I've never been a huge country music fan. I knew of her from her doing the songs on the movie Coyote Ugly. Also, she recently was on the Masked Singer, and shut that stuff downnnnnn! Definitely react to some of her Masked Singer performances.... They were incredible and sound current as they were recent. You'll be impressed. She was the Sun on her season.

The drama with her husband's ex is over now - something happened with the children and it brought them all together. Plus they truly seem like soul mates. I don't condone cheating or affairs, and they handled it really messily at first, but she took herself to mental wellness rehab and the whole situation is a lot better. ❤ She said being on The Masked Singer helped her shed her public image and rediscover her love for singing again ❤
