"I'll give you the talent, you'll give me your life", it's the old pact with the Devil. The song is called "Trastevere" because it was written there. It is a historic, colourful neighborood in Rome where Thomas the lead guitarist lives.

Questo brano invece come detto da Damiano tratta del periodo più basso della sua carriera.. e aggiunge: tutti quei soldi.... non valgono niente senza le persone che ami. Traspone quel periodo descrivendolo in una passegiata a Trastevere quartiere di Roma dove incontra sotto mentite spoglie il diavolo che gli fa' grandi promesse e proposte allettanti ma in realtà scoprira' che in cambio gli prende la vita. E la voce di Damiano trasmette tutto il dolore la sofferenza lo sfinimento dando al testo corpo ed anima.❤ Io Adoro questi ragazzi!!!

In this song Damiano is having a conversation with the devil. Since he explained this in Spotify listening the lyrics is (for me) much more interesting. The music is beautiful.

I adore your reactions, this song was written last year so way before the break up. After winning the eurovision he said he suffered from depression as he finally had everything he ever wanted. Fame succes , millions of new fans... but he panicked and wasn't sure this was really what he wanted for the rest of his life.. the sacrifices, missing the people you love, no rest at all (he's an introvert and is not crazy about being recognized) for months he did all the gigs on a robotic mode, without thinking but he was really bad so the song us a metaphore with that famous pact that lits of artists sign and how to break that pact. I love them so much ❤ he is with dove cameron Actually. I'll be curious to see you react to one of their silly songs like kool kids live in the arena 02 in london with all the fans on stage 😅😂it was crazy . Thank you for your beautiful reaction 😊

In the first part of the song Damiano makes a pact with the Devil while in the second part he tries to break it. Trastevere is a very traditional area of Rome where there are fortune tellers stalls of various types and people of all types.

You are right, there is a lot of hurt and resentment in this song, but I believe it's not towards his ex-love, but towards fame and stardom. He is angry with the devil and the pact.

Others have already described the intended meaning of the song, but Damiano always intentionally leaves room for the listener's interpretation, so yours is valid, too. The song was first performed in Rome over a year ago, well before the breakup, so it's not literally about that, or at least it wasn't at the time. Nowadays there may be another layer of feelings involved when he sings it.

Damiano purposely writes in metaphor and symbolism, so that his experiences and stories can be relatable to others. He has previously described this technique as what an artist hopes to do. So what his personal experience is may not be the same as mine, but I can relate to the emotion and the similarities. His Italian lyrics show tremendous talent doing this, his English lyrics are less complex, but improving by the song as we are seeing here.

Trastevere (pron. tra · *steh* - vuh - ray). The name derives from the Latin trans Tiberim ('beyond the Tiber'), the Tevere river which crosses Rome. Bohemian neighborhood, where Thomas Raggi, the guitarist, lives.

Coraline non era la fidanzata. Quando fece Coraline per la prima volta dal vivo a Sanremo a fine brano scoppiò a piangere. Il presentatore spiegò che era un brano che lo toccava molto da vicino. Il giorno dopo in un post pubblico ringraziò Giorgia la fidanzata per avergli fatto conoscere Coraline. Riguardo il significato del brano non hanno mai spiegato. Alcuni ipotizzarono che parlasse di un bambino atteso e perduto. Altri come me hanno letto la storia di una ragazzina con enormi problemi che poi e' morta.Ragazzina presentata dalla fidanzata che tra l'altro è una attivista che si occupa di problematiche sociali.
