Kix Brooks DID sing lead on some B&D songs too... Try "Rock My World" or "Lost and Found"... Ronnie Dunn probably sang lead in 90% or better, but Kix did contribute... If you want to hear Kix sing solo, try "I Wish I Was New to This Town"... His voice is not as distinct as Ronnie's, but he is still very talented... Also, Dunn & Brooks doesn't have quite the same ring to it and Brooks & Dunn....

"Cost of Livin'" is a song co-written and recorded by American country music singer Ronnie Dunn. It was released in June 2011 as the second single from his self-titled album, and his second release following the split of the duo Brooks & Dunn. Dunn wrote this song with Phillip Coleman.

Don't forget the farmers in your tough times list. Diesel prices are up, very dry in some states means stunted or no crops, in short feeding the world and watching your kids do without. You might take a listen to the late Stan Rogers and his songs "Field Behind the Plow" or his beautiful song about a farmers wife, "Lies". He wrote and performed many songs about the common man, humble farmers, fishermen and sailors. Not well known, but irreplaceable to those who listen.

I've worked so many dirty jobs out in the elements, inside a factory, out on the farm, construction, mechanic shops, etc. Whatever it took to pay the bills and keep our heads above the water and the wolves away from our door.

Ronnie’s voice is so good. Everyone was sad when BD broke up but we got good music out of Ronnie and Kix did a few things including starting a pod cast. They’ve since reunited and are touring a little

This song is beautiful! I love Ronnie’s voice! I grew up in a blue collar family. My family were railroad workers, building maintenance worker, printer, farmers, practical nurse and enlisted military. People in my blue collar neighborhood in Chicago were tradesmen, cops, firefighters, teachers and lower level city workers. Good, hardworking people. 😊

This song came out right after the 2008 recession wiped out millions of jobs. I lost mine in 2008 and was still unemployed when this was released in 2011. Being in Mississippi, we already had the worst unemployment before the housing market crashed. Afterward, every job posting had hundreds of applicants.

After my former husband and I split up, my daughter and I moved in with my dad and stepmom. I finally found a job doing housekeeping at a rehab facility...not very glamorous, but it was work. I did that job while I finished school for my current profession. Gas prices were ridiculous at the time (probably about the same as they are now) and driving just to work, school, church, and a few errands here and there was tough! I still went to every school event of my daughter's that I possibly could because I didn't want to miss that part of her life. All I can say is God provides and He brought us through it! I can't say I'm living high on the hog now, but God is still providing everything I need and a few of my wants as well.

I’ve run a sawmill for over 40 yrs sister. Trying to do what’s right is not an option,,doing right is the only option . Hard work ,chasing a dream while being in lock step with the lord and my wife has been my life. This song tweaks me too!

Ronnie is a truly special voice in country music. One of the best male vocalists period. This song describes so many of us in today's society. It's quite relevant for our times. Britt darlin, I'm so glad to see you taking a spiritual, fun, and awakening trip through the beauty of country music. I must say, your adorable precious reactions steal the show on most videos. Heart melting and so special. A couple of recommendations, although there are thousands I'd love to see you react to. Drake White with "Making me look good again" and about anything with Travis Tritt. "Bible Belt" is one of my favorites. Have the day you deserve.✌️🙏
