I am the vocalist for this band and I gotta say, your analysis of the song is perfect. We ticked a lot of your boxes and you pretty much ticked a lot of ours for the creative and production side of things. Love that you didn't just stare at us admiring our look and how unique it is.(which most do) You sound like you've played a bit of rugby. Familiar with the war dances. I first came across Maori metal a few weeks ago in the form of Alien Weaponry. Check out 'Ru Ana Te Whenua'. It's brutally heavy and all kinds of awesome!

They are based in Auckland but are actually Samoan. Yes, the Samoans are big boys. Some of them have become champion Sumo wrestlers in Japan as well as professional American Football players. Love the shout out and love this. Popping this on the playlist. But now you need to get to HU’s “Wolf Totem” - avoid the Papa Roach collab on that - it makes something awesome a bit kak. Also Winny Puuh’s “Meiecundimees üks Korsakov läks eile Lätti” for some solid Estonian Punk or Saudi Metal Al-Namrood - you know they are going to be brutal if they are playing in a place they can get executed for just playing their music. I was about to suggest this (again). If you want something different, Heilung is a great choice. It's not exactly "rock" or "metal", at least not traditionally, but Heilung is well loved in the metal community.

LOL this was crazy. Probably in your suggestions already and I assume you already heard of them but in case you have not: The HU - Wolf Totem. There is a official live video of them on RU-vid, they have some crazy vocal technique and unique instruments that blend super well in their sound. I'm sure you'd be blown away!

I found it fun for the style and freshness of it, I don't think I would put it on my day-to-day playlist or listen regularly though. It's not for lack of skill or anything but stuff like that always feels gimmicky to me and I can't adjust to all the new stuff at once. Too much out of my comfort zone I guess. :)

Just wondering, have you heard of The HU, or Bloodywood? The Hu are a fabulous band made up of Mongolian music doctorate holders doing Mongolian Metal. Bloodywood is Indian Metal. I am quite delighted with both of them. Go have a look! And these guys, no idea what they're saying, but it sounds great!

@@ChaseCarneson I was also going to suggest Bloodywood. Their mix of metal with traditional Indian Bollywood-ish sound is pretty cool. Try Machi Bhasad, Ari Ari, or their cover of Mundian To Bach Ke (the song starts somewhere in the middle of the video here)

Keeping somewhat in the same theme why not listen to Alien Weaponry from New Zealand - Not sure what ages they are now but they started off in their mid teens. Three of them with two brothers. Oh, to that brother theme! Von Hertzen Brothers is a band by three brothers doing the lead and backing vocals, guitars and bass + two great fellas on keys and drums. Now, we ain't talking about the same genre as with these five brothers but were are talking about nyances, vocal harmonies, palate cleansers and all that jazz. How about getting to know another metal band, Ningen Isu, japanese, that has been around since 1985!! Last year they took over RU-vid by storm due to the youtube algorythm (that did something good for a change) when it started recomending a new video by them, from their 22th (!!!) album, and that video has at this moment, nearly 5,5million views.
