I have never in my life encountered an artist who evoked such passionate responses from listeners. They way Angelina is able to channel the most soulful, bluesy, nuanced interpretation of a song is pure heaven. She sings every song the way it should be sung.

She doesn’t have an ego and that lets her pure God given talent come out. I pray she stays innocent not getting mixed with Illuminati. She definitely is beyond her years or from another world.

Why Angelina perform bare foot is cause she once meet a homeless girl her own age and she got so touched by her situation that she took her boots of and gave them to the girl. To show that she always will remember this she's not wearing any shoes on stage. A old soul in a young body indeed.

I must have watched this video 100 times and I can't get over it. Masterful!

As a woman of a certain age who has had her heart ripped to shreds at points along life that scream was impossibly perfect from someone so young, and I got it right away, the emotional overwhelming of trying to express your pain while remaining calm when you just want to scream the pain out. This is it. She also growls and almost eats the word “mine” at one point. Destructive obsession of trauma bond love. Her creative delivery of these words is stunning and reaches that place inside the broken heart of anyone. I don’t know what the original artist meant yo say with the song, but it’s what I heard in hers. A loved child no less. This. This is art.

You should read into the reason why she wears no shoes. There's an amazing story behind it that's very heartwarming. I don't want to tell the whole story because I may have heard it wrong. But as I did hear it, she was little and in China. She saw a beggar that had no shoes. She was compelled to give the shoes right off of her own feet. That' not too surprising. BUT... She later wrote an illustrated book and has been selling it for years. Her mom did the drawings. Angelina put in her heart. Research it and I'm sure you'll be amazed.

In all the groups she works with they affectionately call her 'The Boss' because she knows what she wants to hear. I just watched a video on Vince Gill the great singer guitar player, and this pedal steel guitar player told the story that there are sometimes several ok ways of playing a little backing music to finish a phrase. Well they were playing a concert and the pedal guy said he played a note that was a perfectly acceptable note to play where he did, but it wasn't the note Vince wanted to hear. So as vince finished his solo he walked over to the pedal steel guy with a smile on his face and nodded to this player who was one of the best pedal steel players ever, and said with that same smile on his face, " we won't be playing the note anymore there will we?" the pedal steel player shook his head no and Vince nodded to him with same smile on his face and wandered back out to the front of the band and took over just that easy. I have a feeling that these creative people see and hear differently than us and every note and inflection has meaning to them. I think Angelina would approach the musicians in her group the same way. Gently letting the musicians know that it is her music and it matters to her what is played.

Is jazz the approach, her voice is , young that she is, the intensity & modulation of her voice in English or otherwise, from bang bang to anything under the sun is mesmerising. The candle with the weird face on it is Screamin' Jay Hawkins, the original singer of the song. She captured his wild screams, but in her own unique rendition of them.

Angelina was 9 years 2 months old when recording I Put a Spell On You. Lukas you got it right with the notes she was writing then reviewed by one of the musicians. Angelina IS the boss in the room when rehearsing and there is a video of a rehearsal for Summertime which was your first viewing of her. Angelina sings the song a capella to teach the musicians then works with them on the accompaniment. IMO the best cover of Bang Bang (age 8) and she probably could have done the song justice when she fit the first lyric, I was 5 he was 6. Angelina is a true prodigy specializing in vocals. I have never seen anything like her in my 62 years. Angelina is my favorite female vocalist of all time.

I don't think a young girl would realize such a sad song bang bang, but her voice was full of passion to present it. So amazing and precious.

This is what I got out of the video I know she’s nine years old I know she knows how to write her own music for this particular version I believe she may have listen to Nina Simone. That’s a prayer candle at the beginning of the video with a picture of the original artist. Just before music starts she looks up as if showing honor. I do believe she purposely chose to sing this song in a very low-key. She added growly sounds to make it believable that it’s not a child singing this adult song. Jazz is so popular Scandinavian countries and that’s why I think she uses jazz voice techniques. She’s watching and reading the sheet music while she’s singing so she knows everybody’s part and counting the beat. I do believe Angelina is a child prodigy she knows more than anyone gives her credit for.

And in case you are unaware, when Angelina was 6 she gave away her favorite pair of shoes to a homeless girl trying to make money who didn't have any shoes & she vowed to always perform barefoot until every child in the world has shoes. And the pen was her marking musical changes because she does all of her musical arrangements. She also makes her own clothes. 🎶👱‍♀️👗👠👠💓

A twofer! Yessir, Angelina had full command of the recording studio and though initially unsure when invited to play in this production the musicians thereafter realized that they had accomplished something special. In the NGT selection Angelina demonstrates remarkable breath control, timing, phrasing, and the conveying of the emotional message of the song story. Kudos to you.

This little girl is a story teller. I cry every song so far. She has charisma and the ability to pull the audience into her story.

Angelina does something in the second song, but it is so subtle that it is easy to miss. When she sings the lyrics "bang bang", she puts a soft vibrato on the final syllable that makes it a thing of beauty.

I have been waiting for to come back to Angelina. You now know why I put a spell on you was so highly requested. You mentioned you didn't know who it was on the candle. That is Screamin Jay Hawkins. The original artist of this song. Angelina's cover here (at barely 9 years old) is probably one of the truest covers of his original vision as you will find. In my personal opinion she even makes some improvements. His original was very theatrical to the point of maybe a little 'over the top'. Somehow Angelina is able to reign it in just enough to make it seem more natural, while still capturing the intensity he was going for. If you look up Sceamin' Jay doing this song, you will totally get what I am saying. ...and have an even deeper appreciation of Angelina's incredible artistry on this cover. Bang Bang... The thing that always blows me away about that one is how an 8 year old, on a talent show, in front of a large audience, is able to just stand there and keep this song in a perfect little pocket from start to finish. No need to get 'big' with it or add a lot of production stuff. The way she bleeds one word into the next, and melts her tones right into those of the guitar... She just pulls you right into her world with this one. As with everything she does, she does it perfectly. I really look forward to your next one. I recommend her acoustic "What Is Life" (her first original) ....or literally anything you want to pick from her cover channel will work also.

In the first video, we see this tiny little girl - 9 years old?? - and she's got on a sweet little Sunday school dress, bare feet, as we're coming to expect and then she gets in front of that mic and even while we kind of know what to expect, BAM! she hits us with that scratchy, breathy amazing voice and control and passion! How does a child her age have the ability to sing with passion? Amazing. The second one - oh my. She's got that halo for goodness' sake, and a similar innocent little girl dress and she does it again! You said it before, Lukas, that she has good people around her and she surely does. And they're doing it right, managing the nuances of her appearance and atmosphere, but just standing back and that little powerhouse of a voice run free.

It is worth watching because you see the source of parts of her arrangement. I think he is supposed to be wearing a bone through his nose. He is costumed as a modern day witch doctor … I believe Angelina is paying respect to him.

AJ at 9yo is THE BOSS, and those musicians already KNOW it, they named her that, and that little girl ARRANGED THIS MUSIC and chose how to sing it and how to pay homage to the songwriter, whose picture is on the candle she lit for him while she LEAD this recording. THE BOSS!! She worked EVERYONE hard to do this one RIGHT! Grandma helps her study music by watching performances FROM GRANDMA'S TIME of blues, jazz, all the ROOTS of modern music that grew out of the 50's and 60's. She won Norway's Got Talent just before she turned 8yo. This is in Norway, her home. Grandma emigrated from Iran long ago (...big story there, I suspect...). When AJ was like 5yo, family was in a middle eastern country (Iran, maybe?), met a little girl with no shoes. Gave her the shoes off her feet after ensuring she could wear them. Decided she'd remember this forever, knew she wanted to sing, so decided to always be on stage barefoot. THUS, our BAREFOOT PRINCESS was born!
