This master Brazilian artist crafted this so skillfully that he takes us along on a journey of faith from the beginnings of belief to the assurance as we stand at the Throne of Heaven. It's the best version of this song I will ever hear. He has worked for years to perfect that voice and his vocal toolbox seems to have no limits. He has stated he is a Christian and put this out for Easter. For Christians who want more faith stuff from the mostly secular artist, try "Adeste Fideles", "For All" "Angels We Have Heard on High" and "Hallelujah" (Handel's). For secular stuff where he covers metal songs or just gilds a song in metal try pretty much any of the 200 videos he has out there. His stuff is fire.

"that shouldn't work".. that might be the best comment I've heard yet. It doesn't seem like it should, and then here we are. He goes on such a journey in this performance. From the beginning of faith and belief (the calm) to the end result of surrendering 100% to that faith. He's from Brazil and he's amazing. He does tons of covers and is 100% an artist because he owns them and makes them his. He also has originals with his band Fearless.

Amazing grace as it was meant to be. A man who turns from slave trader to repent of his role in evil ways...crying out to God from the depths of his soul. Nothing sterile or serene. I think you hit the nail on the head. We are expecting to hear your traditional, Amazing Grace as if we are at church. however, Dan takes it to a different level, and he’s respectful of the song. I think Dan took us all the church with that song! Go listen to his music, he performs what he calls power metal, he wants to sing songs that will uplift us and give us “power“. He’s very eclectic, he sings heavy-metal songs, he sings 80s covers, he sings Amazing Grace. He sings “Africa” from Toto, he sings “Scarborough Fair”, then he sings, Toss A Coin To Your Witcher, go down that rabbit hole!

I love how raw & delicate he started the song & with each verse exposing more talent & intensity. Dan Vasc has a God given talent. He sang this song the way it was meant to be sung with such respect, emotion & with a powerful impact. I felt the presence of God. He's Brazilian. I also wasn't a fan of metal, but I think I was listening to the wrong ones. I'm starting to find metal singers I really like. Dan is one. If you are interested in litening to more metal covers, Dan has many covers. Leo Moraccioli does a lot of fun metal covers too. He's from Norway.

Nice reaction! As WhatItDoDave said in his reaction to this song, it's "just Dan doing Dan things." Dan is incapable of singing a bad song, even when he's on a gaming livestream and just starts singing. All of his songs are absolutely amazing, even his early ones, when he was, in his own words, "an awkward boy." I love listening to his early videos and then his newer ones just to see how far he's come. He had raw talent, then had ten years of lessons and is the amazing singer we have now. Just explore his channel, especially the All Covers playlist, and find your own favorites.

Dan is from Brazil and his band is Fearless. He does have an original album out with them. But his covers are so varied and he does multiple genres well. Check out some of his opera and showtunes covers. He also does some metal Disney songs that are good crossovers.

I first heard this version during a time when I was living in emotional darkness. Hearing it literally made me start sobbing and I felt like God had hugged my heart and truly saw me. I listen to it at least once a day now. Oh, and his harmonica was a gift from his father who passed, so the instrument means a lot to him. P.S. Look for "Nessun Dorma" and then "Music of the Night". If you want to glimpse into his personality, listen to his performance of The Star Spangled Banner" and then his "apology" after some people complained. Everything he does is priceless, including those last two videos.

This was so funny! You reacted just like me. Never heard of him before this popped up on my phone 01.01.24. And now I have heard all of his almost 250 songs. I have never liked metal. With Dan I love it. Dan sing Queen, Elvis, Manowar - everything - even opera, and everything works. I just love that guy and his voice. Before I listen only to classical music - now I only listen to Dan. It’s crazy. And on top of that - he is the sweetest guy you can think of. OMG he is a gift to us all. Love from Norway ❤
