You may know this, but just incase - At age 3 Dimashes parents, were told he had perfect pitch. At age 5 he sang and continued thru his life to sing publically, b4 being invited to this competition, he was already winning one competition rftr another both for singing and instrumentals. He came 2nd I believe because no foreigner, even though he had been invited to take part, cud ever win a Chinese state competition. But he gained so much in terms of becoming known world wide because his audiences loved him and recognised his talent so much they, the Chinese spread the word about him internationally. So we have them to thank for bringing him into our lives. I'm very grateful for that. 🙏

Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics to the piece "Adagio in G Minor" which was usually credited to Tomaso Albinoni.

He has remained a full time student throughout his career ( the exception his time in China for The Singer) has recently finished his PhD coursework for a Doctorate in Musicology in composing and currently working on his dissertation in addition to performing and other projects.

I'm not a special fan of belting high notes, but sometimes I just need it for letting out feelings and regaining my peace of mind. Another performance a bit like this is "Your love" (Moscow 2020). It's interesting to watch Lara Fabians Adagio (From Lara with Love). You can see how much her performance has influenced Dimash: the performances are very different, and yet very alike!

Yup. Leaves me breathless every time too. Some coaches have talked about his head & chin wobble here with his vibrato and when he's belting & how as he has matured this has smoothed out. I happen to love it! You can see every ounce of effort he pours into this performance and that, just as much as the quality of his voice and the level of his technical skill, is what I think cements him in the viewers hearts. 😍😊

Jesse, thank you for your commentary. The melody of "Adagio" is 300 years old, known as "Albinoni's Adagio." Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics and personified the Italian tempo marking 'adagio.' Albinoni's Adagio is very well known and very often regarded as the best piece of music ever written. In RU-vid there are dozens of versions of Albinoni's adagio. I usually listen to the version by London Philharmonic Orchestra.
