The essence of Pink Floyd is that they never rush!. They take all the time they need to make their statement, both musically and lyrically. If they need a 5 minute intro, they take it. This is one reason that they seem to be enveloping the listener in a blanket of warm stardust. An embrace should never be rushed, and neither should Pink Floyd! Never be afraid to feel or express those deep emotions. It's what makes us both human and divine!
Very well said. You just described the essence of Pink Floyd in a nutshell. They drive you to your deepest feelings so much, that it make the tears flow.... now that's music.
I'm 41, and I love this comment for a couple of reasons. For one, I feel the same way, and that's the power of great music to span generations. And also, I don't know whether you mean "tear" as in crying tears, or "tears", as in ripping apart...but either way, I'm right there with you. It tears me apart and tears run down my face.
I love watching your reactions. Pink Floyd makes grown men cry, not just young women like yourself. I've cried countless times over the decades listening to Floyd. Their music is pure magic. There's no other way to describe it. I saw them live on the 1994 tour. It was literally a life altering night.
The emotion you feel is so natural because what Gilmour plays through his guitar is so natural. It's from his soul to our souls. NOBODY can make their guitar SING like his.
"You don't know love, until you listen to Pink Floyd." Great quote. Thanks for your reaction. It's wonderful to see new people experience the depth of Pink Floyd.
Not only a top tune of PF but the vocal brilliance of Machan Taylor towards the end simply makes it even more epic! Love your reactions Aileen ❤️Ps. I hope you enjoyed the Rammstein gig!!
Yes, David Gilmour's solo is top notch, but Machan Taylor's ad-lib is the money moment in this performance. P.S. I think my tour program listed her as Margaret (saw them in Sacramento, California), but in any case, she was/is brilliant.
ive seen pink Floyd 3 times live they are my favourite group I am 70 and yes I cry on comfortably numb I was there on the pulse tour in London I love there music
Don't worry Aileen! I cry every time I hear this. The three angels sing and I have tried, but I can't hold back the tears Its amazing, I think its a brilliant band performance We can't turn away from Ukraine
There’s nothing wrong with crying especially when the music touches your soul it’s soothing I still cry hearing “ wish you were here “ after losing my father to cancer no matter how selfish I wanted to be by not letting go Of him …but realized I’d rather cry foryears in my life then for him to to suffer the rest of his ..I guess I just miss my hero and best friend ..🙏
You hit the nail on the head. Listening to Pink Floyd let's you know it WILL be alright. You are not alone. We can all be better and it's not difficult.
you willnever hear music like this again from all these old bands. They were all just raw talent in these old bands. Each and every person in these bands had a role to play and they all had to have had a connectio on were they wanted to go in there band as a unit to become great. even the songs themselves usually came from someones expi[erience of some kind real stories or about what was going on in the world. music to manufactured these days has no soul or heart in it. Thats why this old music will never die out. these bands are immortal
I was watching your reaction to this and realized something. Ready? You're a 21/22nd century, 'Screen Actress'. You're Stunning, and so easy to watch. Very Special. Congratulations!
I just love your reactions to these, you really feel what it's saying to you. I'm 65 now, I've loved this band since I was a teenager, and these performances make me cry too. I used to sit in the dark, with a speaker either side, playing it as loud as I could get away with to be embraced by it.
We can see you really connected with the song, which is fantastic. Pink Floyd does that. This song evokes a lot in me too. I listened to this song so many times when it first came out and I still do. I'll never get tired of it.
I grew up from my teenage years listening to Pink Floyd - so glad you have discovered this musical gift to us...!! On another note (excuse the unintended pun), have you discovered Marillion yet? My favourite song is "Estonia". Such a powerful song, and especially when you discover the reason behind it being written....
Pink Floyd on headphones, lights dimmed, eyes shut and finding yourself somewhere really comfortable...... and just listen, brain out of gear, thoughts free and let them take you on a journey. Try it. There are bands that can do similar, but Floyd have the unique ability to transform you into a dream and transport you to a different plane. All this without drugs, they're that powerful. They have always told a story and IMO I think thats their secret. Never art for arts sake.
That's what I thought David Gilmore is from another WORLD 🌍... And I get the same way he's literally touching your Soul..... And you can feel his presence....
Another phenomenal song that really doesn't get the attention it probably deserves is Sorrow from A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Wonderful lyrics, great musical composition and of course the obligitory haunting Gilmour solo... One of my favorites since the moment I heard it!
And the lyrics mean as much today as they did 25+ years ago. Always give me chills and well up some inside after what our country has gone through the last couple years
Great reaction Aileen, I am sure you have already been asked to listen to The great gig in the sky, from Darkside of the moon, Album version, however you may be able to find the live version of the song with vocals by Sam Brown, have your tissues ready.
I know you're a fan of metal ....you really need to check out the song Sorrow from the same concert. David Gilmore has said in the past that it's his favorite guitar piece that he's ever written for himself. I think you'll love it. Of course it's Pink Floyd so it's probably going surprise you!
мысль пришла, про Пинк флойд, это как-будто рядом с тобой сидит дедушка, ты просишь его рассказать историю, а он берет старый фендер и начинает играть...
🥹 I felt the same after the cover band "The Pink Floyd Show" I wrote in another video with Pink Floyd. "TAPFS" use PFs ex stage light. This what I ment by feeling silly, I think I can ad empty as well.😉
The day I die I would like to take with me a solo by this God of the guitar. Nobody manages to make a guitar speak or cry like David Gilmour, it's something incredible and if we also add some lyrics with very powerful messages, we have authentic masterpieces.
The transcendence feeling for me: Learning to Fly. I did well in an art class listening to music. The most vast art, with the visuals and chill you were feeling came from that song. I also got some good art from Rearview Mirror from Pearl Jam. Vastly different looks of the art. But interesting nonetheless.
you definitely need too see the version with the claymotion figure that will definitely tug at your heart strings if it doesn't your not human with out empathy empathy
I love this song too, such a great solo from Gilmour too. I would love to hear your reaction to Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits from the Alchemy concert.
Brasil.
It's a subconscious reaction to the lyrics. The song is about society turning its back on the poor and joining the growing number of people who refuse to help. This is not a happy song nor is it comforting...it's a call to action and acknowledgment of the problem.
LOVE your videos and I'd argue you utter the phrase "LOVE THAT BASS" at least once or multiple times per song when you hear it. I'm not really good with how this stuff works and how to get the word to you for bands/songs to listen to. All I know is that I love your reactions and you should listen to more of the band "Chevelle" and CLEARLY listen to "EVENING WITH EL DIABLO" and I really think you're going to love that song and the heavy bass riff!!
Hi Aileen, not sure how you take requests for reaction videos but I’d like to recommend the song, “In Any Tongue” by David Gilmour, the guitarist featured here. The live Pompeii performance is best and the song is a lyrical masterpiece. One of his best IMO.
@@scottalexander619 ,I agree. Such a moving song and a simply gut wrenchingly beautiful guitar solo. The version with the pencil drawn video also hits really hard.
This is still absolutely the most beautiful song I've ever heard. It's been what, 35ish years? It still brings tears to my eyes. The music just kills me but its message must also be heard. We can do this. We can share this world without turning away. Just fucking do it.
Always said there will never be another Ozzy, Metallica, Dire Straits, AC/DC, Guns and Roses, Pink Floyd, Etc. it's not like rap where you get a new crappy rapper copying the last rapper or stealing music. Music this good will only be on our music list not on the radio
@@AileenSenpai I was so excited to this pop up today! Next Recommendation: Shine on You Crazy Diamond from the David Gilmour solo concert Remember that Night!!!
It's a song about no longer being apathetic to humanity's suffering around you. And the ending as the chords are rising, give an elevated mood so you feel uplifted by the music. It's meant to raise you up, and bring you hope for the world to start caring about each other. About being altruistic.
And with what's happening across the World in Ukraine and Palestine I only hope and pray that people really listen to these lyrics and star taking them literally "NO MORE TURNING AWAY FROM THE WEAK AND THE WEARY..!!" as the World is so full of HATE, FEAR, DISTRESS AND DISTRUCTION..!! 🫶💙🙏😇😍
I was about to type a post similar to yours.. but yours is very good. In my opinion the first few verses challenge the listener to reflect on the weak & the weary. The third verse offers hope that we might change and the rest of the song uplifts us to try to retain that new hope just as you pointed out. I do not know that Aileen got that on her 1st go. But she did have the obligatory "OMG this just feels in the feels" which she seems to know is what PF often does.
What a beautifully succinct way of describing Floyd. I've loved them since I was a kid in the 70's. Seen them live only once (this 'Pulse' gig at Earls Court in fact), its certainly not normal music, its a journey that steals your heart and soul - stunning band.
@@peteturner3928 This is actually from Delicate Sound of Thunder 1987', Pulse was 94'. Saw both tours, it's really sad it will never happen again but at least we have these documented shows to revisit
