@playlester Great song suggestions but Mayday Mayday and Snowglobe should not be reacted to by a New Reactor to @HomeFree before they listen and react to 15-20 songs of the Current lineup (from 2016)! If a New Reactor does these 2 songs too early it'll RUIN their reaction to these 2 songs!

"Home Free Vocal Band" is a country a Capella group that won season 4 of the "Sing Off". Adam Rupp (world class beat boxer) and his brother Chris Rupp (left band in 2016) founded the band in 2001. Tim Foust - Incredible Bass, Rob Lundquist and Austin Brown - Amazing Tenors, Adam "Chance" - Smooth Baritone/Bass. I think “Man of Constant Sorrow” is their consummate Song/Video. Their catalog is huge with many, many outstanding songs. 50% Pop/Classic, 30% Country, 15% Inspiring, 5% Goofy Fun, 200% Entertaining, 100% Humble.

Have you never heard Austin speaking in his natural accent? When he joined HF, Tim (as then the other southerner) had to translate what he said. In fact Tim too has gone back to his native Texan accent. The only exaggeration was Rob putting in that cute little yodel.
@Brirend
@Brirend 2 года назад
TIm (Texas), Austin (Georgia) and Chance (Alabama) are all from the southern US. Austin along with having a fairly strong southern accent, tends to speak fast when he is excited. I was listening to an interview with Tim Foust and he mentioned when Austin first joined the group, he would say something and the rest of the group would turn and look at him. For the first several months Austin was in the group, Tim acted as an interpreter because he was the only one who could understand him.

Adam Rupp is the beat boxer from (Minnesota). He does a live solo, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EanKWLUaDpg.html it will blow your mind. The lead singer is Austin Brown. He is from Tipton Georgia. Their bass singer is Tim Faust (From Texas) and has a range you would not believe. The guy with the beard and glasses is Rob Lunquist from (Minnesota )and has a beautiful tenor voice. The last guy is Adam chance can't remember where he is from, they call him Chance, to differentiate him from Adam Rupp. You cannot go wrong with these boys. They are the best of the best. I thought Pentatonix was the be all and end all of A Capella until I found these guys. I still love Pentatonix but... I love these guys more.

For the most awesome covers of famous songs try 'When a Man Loves a Woman', 'American Pie' or 'End of the Road'. They have so many great ones, and do some original music too ! There is solo/collaboration work out there by the members, too. Most especially Austin Brown and Tim Foust. No disappointments in the bunch !

Home Fry here (Home Free fan). Loved your reaction to the video I saw first and was immediately hooked by! Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole (you’re so doomed, but in a good way) … and Home Fries will come and point the way (but don’t worry, on the whole, we’re a pretty enthusiastic but friendly group🙃). I caution you not to react to Mayday until you know the guys and what they do. 😉 Let’s introduce you to our guys: Front left in the video, we have the silky smoothness of tenor Rob “the beard” Lundquist. His lead in End of the Road is a must-see. I also love him in Bless the Broken Road and Blue Ain’t Your Color. Back left is baritone/bass Adam Chance, called Chance due to another Adam in the group. He took over for co-founder Chris Rupp, who left on good terms to pursue other things. Chance is the one doing the mouth harp here. I love his lead in Sea Chanty Medley, Winter Song, One Man Band, and Brothers in Arms - a fantastic tribute to troops and an absolute must see! Center is the high tenor, the fabulous Austin Brown. When A Man Loves a Woman. That’s all that needs to be said. Seriously. Back right is founding member Adam “freak of nature” Rupp, tenor/beatboxer/vocal percussionist. He has several good drum solos, and to see his genius for arrangement, Do You Hear What I Hear, which (in my opinion) not only shows all individual talents, but also how well they blend as a group. In that video, you also see Chris Rupp. I highly recommend watching Adam’s “nomonica” in Ain’t Goin Down (Til the Sun Comes Up), which is only on Facebook due to some kind of copyright issue (but you can react to it on YT). It is amazing. Last, but not least, front right, basso profundo with a 5+ octave range: Tim Foust, who is apparently part dragon. His range, control, and breath support on his low notes is out of this world. He co-leads in Brothers in Arms. You should also check the collaboration with Avi Kaplan (former PTX bass) in Ring of Fire. I also love him in Hillbilly Bone, The Butts Remix (which should be watched for comedic value alone!), All About the Bass, and Champagne Tastes (which he wrote). There are several videos of “Uncle Tim Runs His Mouth” or “Story Time With Tim” that are pretty funny and worth watching. To see their amazing harmonies, see How Great Thou Art, Helplessly Hoping, Mary Did You Know, and (again) Brothers in Arms. I also recommend Tim’s collaboration with Peter Hollands in Misty Mountains. These guys switch leads depending on who they think will be the best. They have no egos, and collaborate with other groups/artists frequently. They lean country, but obviously do many styles of music. They are amazing, talented artists and genuinely nice, funny, down to earth people, too. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. It’s deep, but you’ll never want to escape!

I agree with you, they are so amazing and their voices blend and harmonize so well, with all those sounds coming from them, especially the world's best beat boxer, Adam Rupp (voted the best by his peers around the world)! I am so glad you enjoyed them. They blew me away the first time I heard them with this song and also with their Ring of Fire cover (where Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix joined them). Thank you for a wonderful reaction - your face said it all 😊! You will enjoy all their songs. You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. This song blew me away when I first heard it & I was completely hooked. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves. In this song they are making a distinct southern (bluegrass) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Some of my favorites are "Working for a Living", "Land of the Free", "Elvira" (with the Oak Ridge Boys), "Undivided", and "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (which is not on YT--it's on their official Facebook page).

The diverse genre of music they bring to the table is simply amazing. This group is amazing in the diversity of their vocal range. Between the 5 members They have two guys that can make bass come alive, there are at least 3 or 4 that can deliver the baritone range, 4 with the Tenor II range and 3 with the Tenor I range. They sing a very wide diversity of music genre that include gospel, country, patriotic, rock n roll, blues and they are superb with their video interpretations for the songs they perform. They have well over 100 covers and also have original songs they have written too. They don't put out junk. The beat boxer Adam Rupp is an amazing artist that you will find in about 90% of their releases. The other times he sings as well. Each of the singers could have a solo career in their own right. They are simply that good!!! Enjoy the rabbit hole. I discovered and started listening to them about 2+ years ago and rarely listen to any other group. They keep things very interesting routinely releasing a new cover or song many times throughout the year.

haha - that was fun wasn't Jez? To come to the realization that every sound you heard - all of it - was done with voices and nothing else. It's a great introduction to Home Free for sure. My personal other favorite they've done is Folsum Prison Blues by Johnny Cash. I've never heard you at a loss for words. Harmonica can be shortened to "harp" and people would understand. It's a great instrument, especially in the Blues genre. Indiara Sfair, a Brazilian harpist who is sponsored by Horner harmonicas is my current favorite player. Adam Rupp's (the beatboxer) mouth harp is as good as her outstanding talent. - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uIss2Qmmc5k.html Also Adam does drum solos at their concerts like this one. - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EanKWLUaDpg.html One of the best reactions I've seen in a long time - much enjoyed.

I don't think "harmonica" can be shortened to "harp" as there is a musical instrument called the harp and it's got many strings. The harp was used in 18th & 19th century symphonies and is still used by some today. Listen to the Beatles' song "She's leaving home". It kicks off with a distinct harp sound.

As a group Home Free is quite amazing! Yes, they are truly an a capella group and do amazing covers of ALL types of genres. You had mentioned that you liked the main singer (Austin Brown - High Tenor) of the video. Well know that they all share their talents to bring us great music, including their amazing Beat-Boxer, Adam Rupp who is a world champion and has been described as a 'freak of nature.' Tim Faust, is a Basso Pofundo and has been known to low out speakers during their concerts! Their arrangements are simply awesome. There is one particular song I think you will find quite amazing: Bring Him Home from Les Miserables. Austin does this on his own (they all have solo capabilities) with a piano to accompany him. I could go on and on about each and every one of them, but, I'd rather you discover them in your own way and time. There's only one mistake you can make with Home Free -- listening to "Mayday" too soon. You don't get maximum enjoyment from this great performance until you know all the guys and their voices. For most reactors, that's 6+ reactions to other HF performances. It's also an excellent idea to listen to country vocalist Cam perform the original -- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eRrCMEXPjWo.html HF never fails to deliver great voices, perfect harmonies, and creative arrangements. Sometimes, their covers are better than the originals. The best example is their stunning performance of the 1966 soul music hit by Percy Sledge -- "When a Man Loves a Woman" ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--pygPmfGQvU.html ). This one is so good that it should come with a warning! 🙂 As others have commented, all members of this group have amazing voices...and there's Adam Rupp--one of the best beat boxers in the world. He's a human drum kit! During HF's live shows, he does a "drum solo." One of those drum solos is here ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EanKWLUaDpg.html ) Welcome to the Home Fries!

Everything you think you learned about Home Free from this video will become baffling as you go to different songs. BEWARE! Home Free is addictive! They will touch on all forms of music, not just “Country”. Each member is unique in their own way, and each will be the lead depending on the needs of the song. You can not go wrong with a song choice, and it is impossible to “pidgin hole” them into a repetitive sound. If you choose an old, well-worn cover, they will remain true to the song, yet adding a spin that will be unique, and make you feel, and hear words you never heard before. Welcome to my favorite acapella group!! (Pentatonix is a close second.) These fine gentlemen got their start here in my state of Minnesota, and they are insanely talented. As others have pointed out, everything you hear is from their mouths, including the mind-blowing sounds of The Human Percussion Machine Adam Rupp. Here are some suggestions for where to go next: "How Great Thou Art" and "Brothers in Arms" (sheer vocal perfection) "Folsom Prison Blues" (for more of Adam's "harmonica" and notes from Tim, the bass, that are way lower than what you hear in this song) "The Butts Medley" and "All About That Bass" (for their hilarious fun side) "End of the Road" and "Blue Ain't Your Color" (for some different music genres) "Do You Hear What I Hear?" (my favorite Home Free song) Welcome to the Home Fries (us fans), and have fun going down the rabbit hole!! 😁

And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so fucking doomed. We'll save you a chair. You're about to be buried in Home Fries. Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks. God bless ‘em. All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a two-time world champion and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), and his drum solos. For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). For Chance's smooth baritone, check out Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome. A basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow. For Rob's smooth soul, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) For Austin's soaring tenor, check out Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.) For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.) For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne. For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female. For more of their wonderful collaborations, check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens. Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you'll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim's mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.” You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.
