I’m Filipino but unbiased, Manny is my favorite boxer of all time and his story is second to none. Mayweather may technically be the better fighter, but there was no one was as exciting as Manny.

nah, Floyd is a better "Boxer" not "Fighter" ... Floyd use rules, score, and judge to win... you wont get that in a literal fight, so outside the ring where there is no rules, score, referee and judge... Floyd aint winning any fight.

I am biased because I'm half Filipino and Pacquiao fights were always massive events in my family but it just doesn't feel right for the fighter who gave it their all for all of the rounds to lose against the guy who focused on defending when neither really took much damage.

There is a 3 knockdown rule, where if you knock a fighter down 3 times in one round you win, but most fighters opt out of that rule for a no 3 knockdown rule, the fighters agree on the the rules in the contract. On that 3rd fight with Morales the knockdown, he didn't look that hurt, but he was, mostly his pride, he just sat there and let the ref count him out, he realized he could't beat Pacquiao.

It depends on the rule of that certain fight. Some fight are capped to 3 knockdowns per round, not 2. Some have no rules, so you can go down as many times as possible as long as you can continue. Morales v Pacquiao 2, Morales was knockeddown twice and the referee stopped the fight because he noticed Morales is unable to continue. Just like when a referee stopped the fight when a fighter is getting ground and pounded in UFC. That is called Technical Knockout or TKO. Morales v Pacquiao 3, Morales was knockeddown twice as well but he refused to stand up within the 10 counts. He basically gave up. Pacquaio wqs awarded a Knockout or KO victory. a KO is when the referee doesn't need to intevene, either by not being able to stand up within the referee count or was clocked out cold.

Rules to KO in boxing:If the opponent doesn't get up before the 10s countdown it's a KO, if the opponent gives up during the fight, if the corner of the opponent throws a white towel to the ring or waves the referee it's a KO, and then it the referee himself decides that one of them can't fight any longer yeah so that's what I think the rules for a KO is

The second fight between pacquiao and morales, they agreed to a rule which is 2 knockdowns in the same round is considered a knockout. The last fight, morales was beaten up so bad he cant stand up/fight anymore, which is also considered a knockout

Not a tattoo, quite a few boxers had Golden Palace drawn on their back for fights back in those days. Promotion for Golden Palace and an extra check for the fighter. Also, yes a ref can call the doctor to check a cut, if it's bad, especially if it's close to the eye, doctor can stop the fight, also true in the UFC. It's a rule to protect the fighters, even from themselves.

So the small hanging bag which you commented on is called a speed bag. It's used to improve a fighter's hand eye coordination and reflexes, since how it bounces back depends on how you hit it so it's a little unpredictable, as well as speed, accuracy, power and stamina since you have to keep hitting it with a consistent amount of power at the same place to keep it from getting too unpredictable to hit during long sessions with it.

The doctor has a say if the boxer can continue or not in boxing depends on how deep it is, amount of blood gushing out , and the location of the cut. During the Pacquiao and Morales fight, blood gushing out to his eyes which makes him cant see with his right side/eyes. Making the boxer vulnerable to more punishments, which the sports want to avoid for the welfare of the boxer

Pacquiao's style is based on his athleticism. At 36 YO, he had already lost a lot of athleticism when he fought Mayweather. He could still win with lesser boxers but not to Mayweather who's style is not based on athleticism but technical prowess. It could've been a better fight or might've beaten Mayweather if they had agreed to terms and fight when they were younger. Honestly, it felt like the boxing world were robbed of the could've been one of the greatest rivalries since they only fought when they were already past their prime. The fight wasn't even a good to watch. Pacquiao was too slow and Mayweather was just backpeddaling and running.

These usually don’t have any knockdown rules. Eric Morales got dropped twice and either him, the ref, or his corner said “no more”. A true KO is when he doesn’t make the 10 count or they’re unconscious. TKO is when someone said they’re done. It’s usually the ref. But in this case, Eric bowed out.

Also to explain the whole 'cut above the eye thing,' if the cut is above their eye in certain spots it will bleed into it and impair their ability to see punches thrown from that side if the flow is heavy enough. They do the same in MMA but it's even more important in boxing since it's a sport that's entirely about striking and hitting your opponents where they don't expect. While the promotions do earn money off of people beating the shit out of each other, they don't want the fighters to get majorly injured and not being able to see an incoming punch is a good way to get fucked up.

Manny Pacquiao is the only boxer in history to win 8 different weight divisions, from Flyweight to Junior Middleweight. This record will never be broken. Just moving up one weight division is very difficult to do. If Manny were to move up one weight division at a time, he would have become a champion in 12 different weight divisions champion. Achieving a perfect record is easy; you just have to carefully choose your opponents, knowing you can win easily. Manny did is consistently selecting the best in every division. its not when u are dropped twice then u will be declared as KO. its the referee's discretion to stop if he saw that u can no longer take any punches, because if the referee will continue the fight the boxer could end up severely injured or worst dead.

its not about the cut. its because of the headbutt that made the cut. the judges can stop the fight and declare it as either Draw or DQ if its intentional

Both legends, “Iron” Mike Tyson and “The Greatest” Muhammad Ali, consider Sugar Ray Robinson to be a better boxer than both of them.

the fast bag( speedbag/ speedball) punching exercise sharpens your reflexes and eye coordination. The other speedball is tied from ceiling and the other end goes to the floor. This one you gotta dodge bob n weave etc... while punching it. It basically hits you back. Lolzz but yeaaah. It's all for fast reflex conditioning.
