We are born from literal pain from the mother and when we die we leave pain in those who will remember us. That pain we feel is equal to the love we had to balance the universe. This is one of my favorite songs of his. I found out about him about the same time as you. I listened to all of his albums in like two days and I’ve had them on repeat ever since. I cannot get enough of his music. I’m so sorry for the things you experienced that you shared in the reaction. I’m coming from a totally different place on this one which is something that is so amazing about music in general. At the risk of sounding totally bonkers, I’ve never dated or been in a relationship which is virtually unheard of at my age. Sometimes, I get super lonely. At the same time, I’m fiercely protective of my heart. I think I’d rather avoid the pain that he’s talking about instead of going through it even though it’s all worth it. Hopefully(?), I can start working on getting past that fear of being hurt and accept that it will probably happen one way or another. It will take some difficult work to dismantle the fortress I’ve constructed around my heart. I think a lot of the fear comes from how attached I get to people when I do let down my guard and also how painful it is to lose someone. I lost my dad at 19. It was extremely sudden and unexpected. He went to the hospital on a Wednesday and was gone the following Wednesday. He never made it out of the ICU. Letting people in is such a challenge for me, but hearing this song makes me want to think about trying it anyway. Anyways. Thanks for your vulnerability in sharing your reaction to this video. Don't apologize for feeling something. That's the reason we love NF. Because he allows us, through his vulnerability, to share feelings, to know we are not alone. Love, an emotion, is so complicated. To commit your life to another requires rechoosing love, every day, over and over.

As a Father of 3 girls….. yeah i felt so much emotion hearing this…. the if you want trust you will have to give some away just crushed me, knowing how i am towards the whole trust thing and know that the truth is I have to give more trust then I normally would and I didnt know if i could do it….. but as they grow we grow and the hesitation to give trust has become easier over time. Learning how to change lol just another up hill battle but as they grow I grow and change right along with them.

Let me tell u what NO ONE told me other than they grow up fast that one day ur child is still ur baby and they adore you then like a week later once puberty hits u are uncool, they are annoyed by you and it’s a jolt to your system! I too have lost a child not still born through miscarriage my heart hurts for you and your wife having a miscarriage was so hard I can't imagine the pain from having a still born let alone 2. We do have one child a son we wanted more but it wasn't meant to be. He is our world I tend to hold on to him a bit tighter I'm learning to let go a bit. He is 16 now has a job, a girlfriend, and driving it's bittersweet watching him become the man we knew he could be. We make sacrifices for our children they are worth every one we make. Appreciate your daughter be there for the little things they may not seem a big deal to you but she will be experiencing them for the first time she will always know who was always there. The one thing I didn't expect when having my son was it goes so fast I can close my eyes and think I was bringing him home from the hospital it really does fly by before you know it their childhood is over and your time to bond is gone. Even having to be born emergency at 27 weeks and at 2lbs and 2 months in the NICU, surgeries, just everything...He's my very own miracle and has truly changed my life, all of our lives tbh! ❤❤❤

When I gave birth to my son at the age of 22, I was a drug abuser, and it only got worse. I wasn´t the perfect mom, and I took care of my own needs first. At the age of 10, he was taken away and put into a foster family, where he stayed till he was 18. Meanwhile I had quit heroin, and he moved home, with me for the next 4 years. Now he is almost 40 and father to a beautiful little boy of 2,5 years. I can´t change the past, but how I wish I would be able to go back and give im so much more attention. At least I always gave him love. Life is still right here and right now, and our relationship is beautiful, we can talk about everything. Even the painful things. Love doesn´t die. Your sweet one is so little yet, but it really does go that fast. My sons are now 27 and 30, and it doesn't seem like more than 5-10 years have passed. I blinked and they were men. Remember when we were kids and summer was forever? Now we're grown and the seasons blur and pass so quickly. Now, rewatching this tonight hits ne hard. Brother, you are an amazing man, father, husband (solely based on what I see on RU-vid). Being a father of 2, that are both adults, I’m starting to see my biggest impacts are not so much on the “good” I have done but of the mistakes. Understanding that we all make mistakes, but our children watch and learn how we address those mistakes. I have fallen into that trap of “being dad and always being right.” I have to ask myself… “Is it better to be right or to be loving.” Always be loving. I can keep rambling, so I’ll stop.
