FIRST TIME REACTION TO **Pentatonix "The Prayer" ** I WAS HOLDING MY BREATH THE ENTIRE TIME!! 

So fun watching people get Mitch-slapped over and over. He's so off the chart.

PTX deserves their 4th Grammy for this! Mitch brought me to tears on his 1st solo!

I heard Scott's and then Kevin's live stream about the album and this song in particular and they both said it was one of their most challenging arrangements to sing ever. And we, the fans, totally appreciate it! Beautiful arrangement and singing!

Love this reaction. Scott's operatic voice is such a surprise. Mitch's voice gets under my skin in the best way possible; Nothing but chills.

This was a masterpiece. Mitch, Mitch, Mitch, Mitch! What a voice. No other voice on earth like his. I could listen to him forever. I loved Scott’s entrance and his big riff at the end…loved Kirstie’s belting with Mitch - always blown away by Kevin - in this song his beatboxing is majestic, Great bass work by Matt…the “We are all God’s children” just soared and their delaying the meter for that one breath-taking moment was so powerful. Finally, I was blown away by Mitch’s control and straight tone on his perfect ascending line at the very end. Wow! Took my breath away, and was a totally fulfilling and mind-blowing ending. It’s so hard to do that straight-toned, measured and pianissimo while being so spot-on in pitch. Mitch is a master of his craft. Truly. And Pentatonix is the Mount Everest of a cappella. Bravo! And Encore, encore, encore!

This is far and away the best version of this song. I don't even want to compare them to anyone else, they are unique. They have grown so much even though they seemed perfect before. I'm so glad you reacted to this, thank you.

This arrangement is the most mindblowing thing they have ever done! Just alone the backround harmonies in the beginning (if you listen to Kirstin) the rhythm of it seems really difficult to do and to uphold. Then obviously the bridge, the way they set it up was absolutely spectacular and is one of my all time favorite acapella moments ever. And the last part how they opted to softly and quietly end it like that was just genius. I heard a vocal coach once say that doing high notes quietly is super difficult to do because it takes more effort to sing a high note in general but to hold back the power simultaneously takes so much skill. And those are just the most obvious intricacies of this arrangement, I bet there's so much more to it - I can smell a Grammy for this.

No matter what song they make a cover of, it immediately becomes my favorite version of that song. I can’t imagine the song being done any better. Blown away every time. I don’t know who gets the credit of making the vocal arrangements and who sings what and where but they do a phenomenal job of picking who takes the lead and passing it off and who sings next. So. Much. Talent.

Scott is actually really good at singing in languages he doesn't actually know. For example, check out their cover of a French pop song called "Papaoutai". He sings in *gorgeous* French, despite not knowing any French.

At about 2:50 they hit that chord and they sound like an organ. Just jaw dropping.

As a singer…you don’t need to “know” the language. You just read it, learn to pronounce it correctly, and most of the time, the translation is printed under the words you sing (just so you know what you’re saying). I’ve sung in Latin, Italian (like this song), Spanish, German, French, and Russian (my favorite). Sometimes songs just sound better in their original language than singing in its English translation. By the way, love your enthusiasm! It’s infectious. I’m going to their concert in December- my 2nd time to see them! Can’t wait. If you wanna see a tiny bit of my first show, it’s on my channel.

Megan, you hit hit on the nail, Scott & a Mitch were the perfect blend for this rendition, yet they wouldn't be Penitonix with out all of them. Each one of them are so talented and a joy to watch and listen to. For they are singing earth Angels that heal us with their music! ❤❤❤

It’s easy to forget that Scott’s a proper baritone, eh? He spends so much time in that high-mix pop singer space and then he comes and punches you in the gut with an operatic bel canto section like that. So unfair. 😂

This outdoes the Bocelli/Dion version both for production (to be fair, they simply stood and sang) but also for vocals. Five people making as much sound as the orchestra and the singers, but also telling the story. Far more inspiring. I love Andrea Bocelli and have for years, but this version upgraded from the original. Scott is singing in Italian and Mitch is actually translating again like the original. And don’t forget they will do this live on tour. One thing especially good about PTX is they never record anything they can’t do live. I am so glad I found your channel, just popped up on my feed. I can not believe this is album #10 already. I enjoyed your reaction/review.

It's me again.....just listened to the last part of your reaction. You mentioned seeing them in person is on your bucket list. Well, sweetie....do it when you can. I am a terminally ill cancer patient and there are so many things on my "bucket list" that I will not be able to fulfill....go for it girl. Just a little tidbit....ELVIS, to me, is the greatest performer/singer of all time. He has been my hero for 60 years. Yes, I know, I am old. I fell in love with him when I was 10. I had reservations and tickets to go to Vegas and see him in September of 77. Of course he died in August. After that I made sure that anything that was that important to me, I would not put off unless necessity took the forefront. You are a young and beautiful lady so go for it. I was 27 When Elvis died and I did eventually go to Graceland at 47 years old. My work and other things did take priority but I knew that Graceland would always be there...Carole

Megan! I'm so glad you're back with another Pentatonix reaction! I've watched your reaction to Sound of Silence SO many times, it was SO good ("Is he the Bass?" LOL!). Watching the rest of your reactions to them as you realized you have become a Pentaholic was so much fun. Then you disappeared and I got to fill in the gap in the best way ever. As a 5-Star Uber Driver, I know that music is very important to set the mood and give people an enjoyable trip. I have dozens and dozens of stories of introducing people to PTX, and have had more than a few tears in my car during "Hallelujah" and quite a few excited screams, loud singing and twerking going on during "Daft Punk" or "90's Dance Medley". Seriously, car shaking right to left because three drunk girls in the back are going bonkers over hearing PTX for the first time. So much fun! And now you're back and I can watch your reactions again without having to keep my eyes on the road! Hi Megan, I completely agree with you. Amazing Grace along with another two or three have always been my top favorite sisters but this one absolutely takes the cake. Honestly cannot remember another song in my life and I’m nearly 70 years old that literally gave me so many kills I got chills with Mitch during the first section then I got chills when Scott came in with the Italian when they did their rise I swear it was like an audio orgasm with FULL BODY CHILLS. I totally and completely will be shocked beyond all of this isn’t the next GRAMMY. Loved your reaction, completely agree completely, completely, completely!

Idk how far they'll be performing away from you BUT they are worth the drive! I've driven 3.5 hrs, 14 hours and for their Christmas tour, another 13 hours for them and I've never driven that far for ANYONE!

Wow !!! An absolutely beautiful job on this beautiful song. They all sound great. As usual mich hits his beautiful high notes. But, Here goes. As much as I, and so many others are amazed by mich. And he really does stand out, and they get tons of attention for this. I've listened to Kirsttin, doing songs like Amazing Grace, Seasons of Love, and so many others. With her beautiful high crisp clear range, and her beautiful runs, and stunning whistle notes, and I can't help but wish we could of heard more of her feminine touch. Mich and Kirstie can, and do sometimes sound a lot alike. But as a Pentaholic, I can, and do distinguish the difference between the two, and really just wish they would have added more of a feminine touch. But mich did a great job, people love him, and a lot are left astonished.

The first time I heard "The Prayer" it was while I was watching some clips of Britain's Got Talent. These two teenagers came out and auditioned (boy 17 and girl 16) and did a short version and STUNNED the judges and audience. They went to the finals and did a full version of the song as the last act of the competition (2012). Sadly, they came in 2nd place to a dog act of all things. The act was called Charlotte & Jonathon, then changed to Jonathon & Charlotte. You will be amazed at the power and depth of Jonathon's voice and Charlotte adds a great counterpointe. Jonathon has since had a solo career. Check them out.

Hi Miss Megan....this is not the first time that I have watched you react to certain singers/groups/bands etc,....but your reaction to this song blew ME away. You were so down to earth, honest and your emotions really showed. I love that. I am French Canadian and am fluent in English and French. Must say that when you speak both a Germanic Language and a "Romantic (or Latino) language" It is so much easier to learn Italian, Spanish, German etc....I do speak a bit of both Italian and German but not well enough to be fluent by any mean means. When I was in Germany, I very quickly learned how to order 2 large beers...heh...heh...When Mitch and Scott sing back and forth with Scott singing in Italian, when Scott sings, Mitch translates in English.....then Mitch does a harmony sound and Scott starts to sing first and Mitch is translating the Italian to English. A very subtle vocal move but interesting. I love your presence and enthusiasm with your reactions.....keep going girl...

Long story short, David foster Well no name in the industry, wrote this for Andrea In honor of he's a very good friend Elizabeth Taylor. Hi had celine Dion sing with Andrea. At dress rehearsal Andrea could not be there so David foster sent up the 17 year-old kid Who had been sending David takes. Z. Kid went up and sang Andreas part during rehearsal. Afterwards they called Andrea and said you had better get here fast. That is how good this kid was. This kid was josh groban. He does a version of the prayer with charlotte church. That is my favorite cover of this song
