First Time Reaction to Ren - Money Game 1 & 2 

Without your channel, I would never have heard of this guy. Thank you and thank you to your subscribers. What a unique experience listening/watching this man's craft. Another banger 🔥

PART 3 IS GOING TO BLOW YOUR MINDS!

He hasn't blown up over there for 2 reasons, because of the context of his songs & because he has no label behind him. And tbh, he isn't mainstream over here either for the same reasons. But the reason he's still made it to the top is because he's one of our own & we love the stuff he's doing whether the radio play him or not & because he's done it with no label behind him. And if he ever does get a label & go mainstream, he'd have to stop making the kind of music that he makes & start making the same old stuff the industry is wanting, instead of what the people want. So hopefully that never happens. That's why we need to support him more than ever, one man can't make a change alone.

Remember the line "Turns a Saint into a Sinner, a Child into a Killer, his finger on the trigger of a money game" . It's relevant.

This man makes you think. I first heard him a year ago, and I've yet to be disappointed. His last album went straight in at number 1.

Loved it! I hope to see Part 3 soon. Btw, the burning man that you were thinking of during the first video wasn't Tiananmen Square, it happened in Vietnam. Thich Quang Duc was protesting the government's oppression of Buddhism in 1963. Part of the image was used for Rage Against the Machine's debut album, another band who dealt with hard truths (check out "Know Your Enemy", "Down Rodeo", and "Testify").

I think Ren just reached number 3 in the USA album charts as an independent artist. so someone is listening to him over there. One of the many choices you have is to only take what you need from the cookie jar and to vote for different people offering different things to the Republican, Democrat duopoly.

Your reactions are priceless (no connection to $ intended). Ren sure has a way of creating music very pleasing to the ears and also speaks volumes of uncomfortable truths. From mental health issues to corruption. These sometimes hot potato 🥔 issues are put out there in easier to swallow lyrics. Ren is a genius at what he does. 🤯 Money Game III is an obvious next. I’m sure other “Renagades” will pipe in with other selections. There really is no wrong move when digging around. He has a huge catalog to tap into and explore. Have fun entering into the rabbit hole 😊

But his independent album Sick Boi was #1 just in the UK in October, when it came out (he beat Rick Astley's new album, which is good and from a long time loved British singer) and it made charts in the US too, all from his own production and the help of friends and the YT reaction community. The Big Push was his busking band in Brighton and you should do some of their videos. The amount of hours he puts into voice sound tuning to turn a one take video, using a lav mic, guitar direct plug in and camera. He puts so much dedication behind everything while being very ill it's impressive and needed. His best and biggest production for a video is Money Game 3, which you should have done all 3. Or at least do pt 3.

Hi, great reaction I'm 54 and grew up loving music, listening to the greats krs1 arron Neville bill withers etc, from around 2000 I got so bored with the same old same old tunes being regurgitated main stream tosh, then by chance found Ren who has literally turned me my family and friends into 14 yr old fan girls😁 there is not a single track that hasn't resonated, this guy Ren is a blessing we all need in these crazy times, any track by Ren is pure fire and I'm not exaggerating, some tracks need to be heard a few times and his talent and art just grows and grows, let's do as you yourself said and it's upto us to make his art shine, after money game 3, dive in his list you will not be disappointed, shocked flawed and emotionally touched definitely, spread the love it's the only way we survive

I was wondering what you'd make of the Money Game songs, first one done pre-Covid, 2nd I think during (hence a lyric video), No.3 recently released, you are going to be blown away by that one! You're right, he goes to places you simply won't see a contracted recording artist go, dropping truth bombs galore. In terms of US recognition, it is very much happening thanks largely to you and your fellow reaction community. Money Game 1 and 3 are essentially one takes (bar an essential sleight of hand in 3). He's incredible at this genre. In my many years listening to music, having seen some of the greats live, I have never seen anything as extraordinary as Ren. His stories about his battle with Lyme disease and effects the misdiagnoses had are reflected in many songs, as is the extraordinary story about his friend who took his own life, covered beautifully in a few of his songs, such as For Joe. Ren is the establishment, protected from "the rain" (the poncho) The guitarist is "us" (the population) when the population becomes aware (eyes) something has to give. If you can't burn the population, those in control lose protection (the poncho comes off) and the system burns. (Revolution?)

You said about ren not being on certain radio stations in the US due to the context of his lyrics, but someone can correct me if i am wrong, but to my knowledge ren has only appeared once on the radio here in the uk and that was for his recent album release with the song uninvited which is a 'radio edit song' (although it contains no curse words its a very naughty song lol). Ren is an artist we need in these times,to get the truth out to the flocks of sheep.We are mostly centrist but made to think there is left and right so there is always a conflict of some sorts with that ideology.He has opened my mind over the last 2 years,wise beyond his years,whereas he uses his brain and tongue to deliver metaphorical bo##s,corrupt government use military ones,in the Matrix always follow the money to see the real truths.Its not just America its a Worldwide phenomenon,but Ren is one too! We are also all a part of the money game in the sense that we often forget over 90% of the world has less than we do as a people. Look around the house and find something you made from earth to completion. Likely can't find it. Someone mines, grows, works for the things we consider natural as a clock.

The main reason I think Ren hasn't blown up in the US as much is that his performances really require you to watch the video at the same time to get the whole effect.

People miss the fact he’s giving a history lesson, look into Shell Oil company. They started selling shells before oil…

I think he is asking us to open our eyes to what we pay attention too,how we spend our money. What we endorse is important and what we refuse to endorse. He does all of his films independently with his partner . That’s why you won’t see him promoted ,because they don’t have a profit stream into his success

I have 5 Independent artists as my top artists of 2023 in my music recap of the year. Ren is number 1 on that list. Thats not by mistake lol. Politicians are manipulating everything. Yeah you cant even live off the grid, there are laws where you cant collect rain eater, cant plant fruit trees, truancy laws, must be connected to the power grid. One city vondemned a Veterans whole property solely for being 100% off the grid. He was self sufficient and they wouldnt allow it. He was young too plus in his right mind (not a hermit, religious zealot, prepper or anything).
