Cobham influenced so many drummers with his deep pocket, power, and velocity. As an active listener, you can hear what a snare and bass drum should sound like, not to mention played so tight. This is an essential fusion album for all aspiring musicians.

We are lucky that Tommy Bolin left school at 16 and moved to Boulder, Colorado and started making music and never stopped until he passed away at 25. He gave us 9 years of great music. Heck most 25 year olds these days haven’t left Mommy and Daddy’s house yet.

In 2013 Cobham did a 40th Anniversary Tour of the "Spectrum" album. I saw them at the "Egg" theatre in Albany NY. I swear that nearly Every audience member was a Musician! They of course had a new guitar player. It was early in the Tour and they were still finding their Groove but when they let the Guitarist finally cut loose, you could tell they were going to become Phenomenal as the Tour proceeded. Cobham s work with the Mahavishnu Orchestra is also worth your time. Start with "The Inner Mounting Flame " album.

Bolin had a shitload of personal problems, but on records - and most of the time when playing live - he left nothing on the table. It was all over the floor.

One of the greatest guitarists that no one bothers to know anything about Mr. Tommy Bolin one of my idols growing up and still is RIP Tommy you are missed so very much. You should here Tommy play this on his Live at Ebbetts field but of course that won't happen either.😟🎸🎵
