This is precisely why I am extremely hesitant to upgrade or replace my current system. I have a Trane but it’s a very very old Trane. Has lasted nearly 30 years. Only thing changed is the filter and the blower motor. Will be 30 years in October! But videos like this kind of shows me they really aren’t making them like they used to!! Ps- shouldn’t you be a little concerned that the fins on that brand new coil are all bent in and pushed over on both sides? I know I’d be sending that back if it were an automotive evaporator- is it different for the home? Or is the camera being tricky?

My Trane XV95 has a wet filter..I’ve tightened the older now kind of stiff plastic tubing for the condensate pump at the pump outlet, I’ve noticed if I tilt the pump it pumps out, I’m just wondering if it’s not activating properly. My tech checked it out when they started (did the start up) my Mitsubishi mini split, they did the same thing I did, checked the tubing, pump, the fact that it’s draining ok, he just said to watch it..I’m going to use the Mitsubishi primarily as AC, I have 4 heads upstairs, I had to get the 3.5 ton as the 3 ton main outdoor unit wasn’t available, this way I can always add the 5th one downstairs at a later time, and my gas furnace will take the main brunt of heating..(I used to use Mr. Swampy as my AC, but some weird power surge made an attic fire, (or maybe the swampy motor caused an over draw, melted wires, then a power surge happened, since no one, not even the insurance did an investigation I’ll never know..they never even sent an agent to my house, not to name names, Farmers Insurance..) melted that wire, it also killed my transformer and control board on the Trane, and I also later found a power surge strip my TV and phones and stereo were plugged into was fried as well..the strip was discolored on the back, when I took it apart, it was literally charred on the inside. I had a whole house surge protector put on the brand new 200 amp service, and also one inside the sub panel downstairs as it has a circuit that goes outside aerially to my chicken coop..might be overkill, but, I figured a lightning strike was just as likely on that vulnerable circuit as the main circuit, or, well, if you’re going to go for protection, you have to get all of the vulnerable circuits, right? Also..don’t have a fire..your insurance won’t help you, at least mine didn’t. They’re actually paying the disaster recovery firm for crap they never did despite me showing them line item by line item what they “didn’t” do..I have pics too..I’m just at my wits’ end..I’m ready to report all of them as committing insurance fraud..of course, I think I’ll wait till all the bills are paid and they bring my stuff back! I mean, I'm starting to wonder if the insurance agent has some sort of relationship with the contractor..how can Farmers have some guy five states away approve a (an outrageous estimate for work not even done by a terrible contractor) claim they’ve never bothered to even send a local agent out to ever even look at the place? Not once in five months!

Those coils from Trane always need some type of uv light put under the coil cause they draw so much air that biological growth is always a issue . You will notice those always have drain issues as well when they don’t have a uv light
