Ideally, this is the way to go however the energy density is not available using today’s extremely expensive technology. If you are are merely sailing the Caribbean, then the winds are easterlies, any joker can do that, no matter how untalented a sailor, with crew! A business!
What are you even talking about? This is the West Coast of Mexico. We have a novice unpaid crew that we are teaching. And we sailed over 3000 miles on nothing but solar power to charge our batteries. I do agree that just about anyone with some ability to sail can do it.
