This entire concert “Glam Slam 1992” is iconic Prince. I’m so glad you’re going down the purple rabbit hole. Prince has so many good songs and his live performances are legendary. Not only did he write and play most of the instruments on his recorded tracks, but he also arranged, composed, and produced them. He is one of the only people to be able to walk into a studio recording session by himself and come out a day or two later with a complete album, ready for release. He was a modern day Mozart. For real.
So many things worth mentioning here. As a music lover and a Prince veteran, believe it or not, your reaction brought tears to my eyes. It's a wonderful feeling when u see younger people realising he was a genius. U should react to more of his songs, especially live performances where every single song becomes a jam!!! The musicians who recorded Sinead O'Connor's version mentioned that they didn't rearrange it. The arrangement Prince sent was what they recorded, including the strings and unique drum beat. However, they had to change the key.

I was fortunate enough to see their performance of this when Prince & the NPG toured Australia 🇦🇺. I have to say it - nothing compares to that! Awesome doesn't even begin to describe it 🙌🙌. Some of my favourite Prince songs include- Baby I'm a star, I could never take the place of your man, I would die 4 u, Get off and the list goes on! You can hear the very original version with Prince on the 2019 release Originals album. This was the version he presented to The Family, a group with featured his girlfriend at the time Susanna Melvoin, Wendy's twin sister.
I have just listened to “Damm you” and you MUST react to this song. His voice range is amazing. Another song is “Scandalous”. Hope you enjoy the difference in Tempo.

This song was one of the breaking points between Prince an Warner Bros. From what I have read, Warner gave the song to Sinead without Prince's knowledge or approval. Of course they didn't need either because of the contract Prince had with Warner at the time giving the company rights to Prince's music. Not long after he changed his name to the symbol and began writing "SLAVE" on his face when he performed.
I've always like Prince singing this song more than Sinead's version. She was incredible, don't get me wrong, but Prince's version, the vibe, the more funky sound, is less gut wrenching & despairing. Sinead filled the song with all of her very real trauma & it's 100% valid, but that kind of music isn't my favorite.

i am Prince super fan but i dont hate sinneads version its awesome and this actually honours more Prince, however that Prince song was not for religion or bitter memories its for the love and care... Thats Prince. Sineads is different but the story and her mind set of that cost her, her life attitude. Prince had a hit and went on so he was not haunted by any success, others could not escape and felt under depression that could not overcoming or emptiness or could get no new inspiration. The first demo that exists isan attempt of his performance which is cold and strip nude and move on changing it. Prince did that all the time during his career. Others dont get that especially music critics. Prince music is a changing theme no matter the song or tune and his goal is always went on further pushing limits other could not dare or think. Sinnead version is great and thats it but she has no stamina to do it again and as a vocalist she is perfect. However she messed her life and a song should be a milestone not a foolstop.

why so eager to diss Prince dude? Can be Sinead compared to prince as a musician or vocalist or do you think that music is something can or have to be used as a revenge attitude to someone under our dislike. Why the stubbornness and stupidity on music.... Are you a musician or what does music means for you.
