Violet was screech and Jenny’s mother. There’s layers and layers in this story I love it to hear it. Jenny turns out like her silent mother violet, screech like his abusive father. They probably grew up in the system. Glad you guys ran it back!

Jenny and James (his mates called him Screech) were the twins born to Violet! Mom died, dad went to prison for killing her, Jenny and Screech separated at birth and raised in 2 completely separate households. Screech killed his own twin sister! 😢

It’s a story about generational violence…two kids born without ever knowing their mother or father put into the system and both had sad lives that ended in tragedy. Jenny and Screech died in 2019. Violet’s tale is in the past…2005. She dies at the hands of her violent boyfriend and the twins that are born as she dies go into the foster system, never knowing each other until the night they run into each other on the streets randomly. Jenny and Screech were both 14. Jenny was walking home late at night in high heels…streets she had walked 1000 times before…Jenny was likely a foster child turned teenage prostitute. She randomly runs into screech…who she has never met before, but is actually her brother. She freezes up and stays silent (like her mother Violet), and screech snaps and kills her (like his father Stevie). He’s intentionally vague at the end of her tale…”he swung possessed with the devil in his chest, and the statue she was turned to butter in a breath”. She found a place to “sleep”…listen to how he says sleep…it’s the forever sleep of death. Jenny wanted to escape her life (who wouldn’t)…and she did…through death…not the way she wanted. The violence done to Violet found it’s way to her children even though she never met them. Ren read a story in the paper about a 14 year old who killed a girl on the street at night and tried to imagine a story that would explain it. Oh…and Patrick and Screech’s girlfriend were together when he tried to go to both of them…that’s why Patrick didn’t answer and his girlfriend was busy. Screech wasn’t very nice to either of them. I love how you talked through this trying to figure it out! You were both on the right track. He had to rewind time to tell the tale. Violet's tale happened in 2005, Jenny and Screech in 2019 when they were both 14 years old (14 years after Violet gave birth to them). So, Violet was abused by her father as a child, her mom was a drunk and knew about but ignored it. She moved out as a teen and met Stevie who repeated the patterns of her father by physically abusing her and ultimately killing her. She was pregnant with twins and died while giving birth to Jenny and Screech. Violet died, Stevie (the father) either went on the run or was imprisoned for the murder of Violet and Jenny & Screech were separated and went into the system. 14 years later they meet randomly on the street and Screech kills his twin sister and then is shot and killed by the police, both die on the same night one street apart, just like they were lying side by side in the hospital after Violet gave birth to them. It is about the cycle of domestic violence, how it repeats itself (Jenny being like her mom, Violet, and Screech being like his dad, Stevie). It is an insane Tale and is beautifully and masterfully done. Not many artists can tell a story with a guitar and their voice, perform it live and have the viewer become immersed in the story and actually see it in their mind like they were watching a full movie. Pure genuis and undeniable talent! As a side note - Ren did a few shorts about Screech and it is revealed that his best friend Patrick and his girlfriend were hooking up behind his back. That is why Patrick wasn't at home when he knocked and why his girlfriend said he couldn't come over because she was busy. She was busy with Patrick!!!

I loved this. The best part was your willingness to go back, dig in and get it right... Took me two times through to get it straight, and about 10 times through to get all the nuance. 🙂 Here are some lyrics for you; "James - he grew up to be a kid on the streets. His mates called him Screech, he was quick on his feet..." (James = Screech) At the end you discover that Violet had twins. The assumption is that they grew up separately and died together one terrible night having never known one another. Stevie - one of the later characters - was Jenny's abusive bastard of partner who was Jenny and Screech's father. The parallel is that James/Screech grew up like his father and Jenny grew up innocent but possibly abused like her mother. Or perhaps not so innocent. What was a 14-year-old girl doing walking the streets at night, anyway? You may be wondering about 'Babe', the person on the other end of the phone call. Violet was in the hospital Paddington London City 2 0 0 5, the video posted in 2019 and they said Jenny and Screech were 14 years old so they died in 2019. Violet had twins on her death bed, Jenny and Screech. They got separated at birth probably put in foster care/group homes. They just so happened to meet and Screech killed his own sister unknowingly. They said Violet was the silent type and her man was a violent type. Jenny was silent when getting robbed by Screech same as her mother and Screech was violent same as his father. A couple times throughout the songs he mentions history repeats itself. You guys were so close to getting it fully a few times but backed away from it I guess not realizing that they could separate at birth and not realize they were connected.

He is like a medieval minstrel brought up to date. Masterpiece Violet was their mother Screech killed his twin he didn't know because they were parted because she died.

Violet was born into an abusive household and continued it on with her self in her own relationships and as she passed she had two twins born that were separated at birth and 14 years later both of the twins ended up laying on the street, side by side.

He mentions the year 2005 in Violet's tale. That's when she died an had twins Jenny and Screech. In his earlier song Screech ( aka James) was 14 when he killed Jenny. They obviously were seperated at birth as neither Jenny or Screech recognised each other when Screech tried to rob her. It's a tale of history repeating itself. A pure tragedy. 😎

Ren has on his youtube, a part called Instagram stories. He and his friends were playing I'm character when Ren was making this song. Ren explains he lost alot of followers and friends because they thought it was real, only realizing he was setting up the way this story telling masterpiece was gonna be made. And Violet was their mom. Wich was actually Jenny and James. Because James nickname was Screech. And I believe Patrick was with Screech's girl when he was looking for them

Others are explaining...but a couple of points. Each song was done LIVE as a single take - no camera cuts. At the end of Screech's tale he says "it ends at the *start*....jenny and screech a street apart". The "start" being that they grew up a street apart and never knew each other - they also die on the same night, as they were born, a street apart. Screech's girlfriend was 'busy'...guess where his buddy Patrick was!!! lol Question - has any other artist consumed you like this?

Its the cycle of violence. Violet was abused by her father, moved out and hooked up with another violent man (Stevie). She died after giving birth to twins: Jenny & Screech, who then grew up separated in the foster care system (mom dead, dad in jail) and then they cross paths and Screech kills his sister Jenny.

I've said it before but, somebody could get ahold of this tale and turn it into an Oscar winning movie. This dude is a true performer.

Violet’s Tale begins in 2005, 14 years before Jenny and Screech crossed paths on that street. Violet, a victim of domestic abuse, gave birth to twins (Jenny and Screech) before she died as w result of the beating Stevie gave her. Stevie went to jail and Jenny and Screech were raised in separate foster care homes.

When violet died, her twins lived and were put into foster care. In the UK, Jenny and James are names given to orphans who were never named. Jenny was a street walker, and like her mum she froze and stayed silent. Screech like his dad was violent. Ren read about a murder of a young prostitute by a 14 year old boy in the papers in 2019. Hewrote this so g about it. Thenhe wrote violets tale. Violet died 14 years before in 2005. She was their mother, they never knew about each other after being seperated at birth. This is a masterpiece.

This is just my observation so it may or may not be intentional, but the title of the trilogy is "The tale of Jenny and Screech" which excludes Violet. So pretty much the whole story centers between the two and Violet ties the whole trilogy. Just a bit more of an indication that Violet isn't just another character, but gives more of a background of both Jenny and Screech and indicates that they are not just connected through death, but also through birth.

I got confused the first time too 😅 Violet had twins then died - The twins Jenny and James (Screech) grew up in care as strangers - Screech unwittingly killed his twin Jenny on the very streets they were born on.

The first clue in violets tail was 2005. So this tale took place 14 years earlier(Ren recorded this in 2019). Catching that clue will let you know the tail preceding the other two In the story of the characters.

Great reaction - it’s interesting how the way the story is told means you have to work out part of the story yourself, like what happened to Jenny and Screech when their mother died, and their father ( obviously sent to prison for killing their mother), the kids were separated at birth and put into care or adopted without knowing of each other’s existence. The irony then being one sibling murders the other.

the sneaky part was where Ren was saying that it was 2005 and that we have to "rewind the hands of time" for Violet's Tale, when we found out about HER tragic past. if we remember that and then realize that he UNWOUND the hands of time back to 2005, the night that Violet died AND Screech and Jenny were born. remember, he said that Screech was just 14 years old. so YES, it was the SAME Jenny and Screech, nothing mystical about it. so yes, you got it at the end, Violet was their mother. hard to say who their father was--either Stevie (the "little prick") OR even Violet's father, who was doing things to her before she left home at age 16. and yes, the "other name" you remember was JAMES, 14 years old, also known as Screech.

I never knew reaction vids were even a thing till about 2 weeks ago, when i saw that Ren was finaly getting some traction. I've watched a few of your ren vids now. If you haven't worked it out yet, Violets tale starts in the hospital, after Violet has been beaten. He then rewinds time to tell her story from growing up with a drunk mother and abusive father.moves out at 16 and gets pregnant to an abusive boyfriend who beats her in her bed. The surgeon comes for the babies, not for Violet. The twins would be put through the system and grew up not knowing each other. So, Screech killed his Sister.

Bros, if you really wanna analyze it, Jemmy's Tale was made in 2019, when Screech was 14yo, Violet's tale was 2-0-0-5 (14 years from 2019), that was the time Screech was born, he did say James was "14yo and out of his brain". He also said "James, he grew up to be a kid of the street. His mates called him Screech.." So Violet gave birth to twins (Jenny and Screech) in 2005, who didn't grow up together probably 'cause of social services having them adopted by different folks. and Screech mugged his twin Jenny in 2019. Violet's Tale has the hidden clues - 2005, then rewind the clock to her childhood and abuse, then he plays the guitar forward back to 2005, it's easy to miss it on the first listen. It looks like other comments filled you in - Jenny and Screech die in 2019, both of of them are 14. Then Violet's Tale is 2005 - the night they're born - so you were on the right track - same streets where they were born and where they died.

- Song released in 2019; - James (Screech) is 14 years old and out of his mind; - Violet, "we must rewind the hands of time for Violet's Tale", two-zero-zero-five (year 2005); - Violet had twins in 2005, right before she died: "a girl named Jenny and a boy named Screech (James)"; - 2005+14=2019 There are a few things a bit difficult to understand the story clearly, one is Jenny's death which isn't clear until the 2nd song (Screech's Tale). The other thing is almost the whole of Violet's Tale. The first issue is the backtracking in time which is hinted in words and with the guitar effect, but many people miss this and also interpret two-zero-zero-five as an address in Paddington. Some also lose the plot between the abuse of her father and her husband thinking they're one and the same. There is a bunch of things to keep track of a missing one or some can lead you to not be able to follow the story properly and deduce that it's all a metaphor.

It is about generational violence and abuse. Makes you wonder how much of it is nature vs nurture. It appears Jenny and Screech took on parts of their parents traits like Jenny not being able to speak like her mother Violet although we know Violet died and their father, Stevie more than likely ended up in prison. It’s a tough performance to watch especially if you know anything about domestic violence. Ren does it so well but damn it breaks the heart.

James and screech are one and the same person "James, he grew up to be a kid of the street, his mates called him screech he was quick on his feet..." alot of reactors miss this little detail - they dont hear the "his mates called him screech" bit of the line. James wasn't Jenny's man, Screech is just James' nickname. A great short story told in 3 acts like a Shakespearean tragedy. A story of the cruel and in this case inevitable cycle of violence and victimhood that sadly can be passed from one generation to another like its hereditary. In Screech's case you could say violence was in his blood (from his father) and who knows what abuse and neglect he could have suffered going through the system as an orphan. Not being in a loving and stable environment and instead resorting to finding his own family of sorts on the streets with kids that were as broken as he was and where "the devil had set his sights on his soul", "he was liar and a thief at fourteen years old". Twins that have never known each other have met and not known they were related when they were separated at birth and go into "care". Some siblings have unknowingly entered physical relationships which is really f**ked up.

Violet was their mother and gave birth to them the night she died. Jenny and James/Screech got seperated and grew up not knowing of each other, the night they first met again ended violent, with both dying, like their live started violent, with their mother dying. The actual date of violets death was given as a hint - the song is from 2019, so 14 years later, and 14 were the twins when they died (although it wasn't told in Jenny's tale about her, only him, to keep the suspense). To be fair though, I didn't get it all after first listening as well (though I'm not a native speaker which made it even harder to follow the lyrics and draw conclusions).

I get so frustrated with so many reactions because most tend to miss the line "he swung possessed with the devil in his chest"....he killed her. Almost EVERYONE misses that, some never catch it, even through the whole story. Also, for "Screech's Tale", it seems that almost no one catches that Screech's girlfriend and his friend Patrick, happen to be "busy", or not available, at the same time. Consider why. Maybe they were together? Patrick wasn't home...was he with Screech's girl at her place and that's why she was "busy"? It adds a whole other layer to the story. Also consider that Jenny and Screech were born side by side, and essentially died side by side, one street apart. Born on the same day, died on the same day. An entire family, mother and twins that never knew each other, wiped out by a cycle of violence. An abused mother, a 14 year old prostitute, and a 14 year old thug/murderer. Powerful stuff. Not sure if you caught it or not, but he did all 3 songs in a single take each, just like "Hi Ren". In the "Violet's Tale" pay attention to how he uses the acoustics of his environment to accentuate the song. Absolute brilliance. The man is truly special.

The cycle continued. Jenny and Screech were separated after Violet, there mother died. Screech killed his sister..Jenny. The abuse cycle continued 🥺😭
